  1. The beds that Aldi sell from time to time are very low to the ground and would be a good height for toy dogs. I got them for my oldies who cannot climb up onto the taller beds anymore. Great value too. Not sure if you have Aldi in WA, and you have to wait for them to roll them out once a year. But I buy a couple every time they have them.
  2. lolololol TRY sitting under a BREED sign and a 6ft high banner and a smaller SIGN especially made and they still go "Whats that!" My friends lost their voices over the three days we were there, but well worth it for all the lovely people we got to meet, even the pound lady who took some information, "in case one escaped and came to her pound in NSW!" I advised her be a long run from WA but NSW but she was kind enough to say "You never know" and she is very right! Yes but Xolo is really HARD to say! Even I could not say it properly But then again at the start of the day we also had Bedlington Terrier above some of the other Keeshonds! Confusing? Just a little!
  3. We sat at the Royal all day UNDER the breed sign, and every single person asked what they were. I see a lot of crosses that would make excellent pure breds and vice versa. Esp in the small white (or not so white) fluffy category!
  4. RIP Montanna, So sorry to hear the sad news Amerykus
  5. 8 out of 10 dogs that come through our work (grooming) are not what their owners think they are! It does not bother me in the least. Sometimes I might ask where they got it, or if they saw the parents, but generally I dont bother unless its really interesting.
  6. I think most places will only allow dogs in the car. You could ask, but dont expect them to allow dogs in the rooms, even crated ones.
  7. Now its going a little viral on FB! Woops!
  8. Did the vet do a skin scraping????????? I had a bitch many years ago present with constant "hot spots" on her face/head/neck area. After being advised many times it was just hot spots, I went and asked for a skin scraping. Guess what, it was demodectic mites! Anyway, for hot spots I use Curash and I NEVER EVER shave the area down! Curash, or if pressed, Listerine, and it dries up in no time.
  9. I am another Black Hawk convert here. I've used Artemis, Nutro and various others, but the Black Hawk is winning so far.
  10. I cannot find that in the Catalogue! It only tells me who is doing each group.
  11. They sell a different variety in 15kg bags up here, Im having a mental blank and cant tell you what its called. Oh Drover, thats it.
  12. On a different note, Ive found Sir Walter to be MUCH more tolerant of heavy dog traffic, but they still leave tracks. I always seem to have to fence off an area to let it recover, while they make a new track somewhere else! And that is just ONE dog in a run!

  14. I dont normally close a show until 10 days before the date of the show. I know another cataloguer does the same. But I guess there are also many more who close a lot earlier!
  15. We generally sit in the benches and leave the dogs in the trolleys. You can buy parking on the day, just park in the drop off area, go into the dog section office and they can sell you one there, or you can use the public parking.
  16. They dont check the dogs stonecutter, just the people. You drive to the drop off area, unload the dogs/gear. Then one of you stays inside with the dogs, and one of you goes and parks the car. Or if you dont mind the push, you can go straight to the carpark and push dogs/gear across. A normal ticket can get you in before 9am if you go in the exhibitor entry, yes.
  17. I have found the best way to get them past such a loss is to just go back to normal routines. Back with other dogs, not treated special in any way. Sorry for your loss - we've been through it too, its heart breaking.
  18. I'd cut the food back personally. But there is lots of reading online about this problem.
  19. I am now available for your Isle of Dogs needs. I can deliver to Sydney shows (and a few country ones too) and it can also be collected from Castle Hill or Glenhaven. Just drop me a PM :)
  20. As a breeder who breeds, on average, one litter ever 5 years, I would just have to stop breeding. I would not be paying $500 a year PLUS my Dogs NSW fees, just so I can hold a breeders prefix. I dont see how a $500 fee is going to stop a person who breeds for profit in ANY way, shape or form! They will keep doing just what they are doing, their dogs will pay for that fee.
  21. Its just plain sad. To go to Crufts, beat all those hundreds of dogs in your own breed, to then walk out and have your award stripped by a vet. I know myself a lot of vets are substandard when it comes to their general knowledge of dogs and dog breeding, let alone specific breeds. In the case of the Clumber......that was a terrible joke IMO. Unhealthy dogs simply dont get Titles in 13 countries.
  22. At work we use Isle of Dogs Replascent - there are a few different "flavours" and they are devine! I highly recommend them!
  23. Geez Jed, in my case it would be 20 years!
  24. What a shame, but probably for the best under the circumstances.
  25. I'm looking forward to coming! I just hope I can make it through!
