  2. Loved it Glad I'm not the only one with a bossy bird
  3. Just wanting to extend my deepest thoughts to you, I have only just seen this thread. It's hard watching a dog go through cancer, I have been there also and the kindest thing we can do is to let them go when it becomes overwhelming A Parting Prayer Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort this beloved companion across the Rainbow Bridge. Assign her to a place of honor, for she has been a faithful servant and has always done her best to please me. Bless the hands that send her to you, for they are doing so in love and compassion, freeing her from pain and suffering. Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss. Help me remember the details of her life with the love she has shown me. And grant me the courage to honor her by sharing those memories with others. Let her remember me as well and let her know that I will always love her. And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise, please allow her to accompany those who will bring me home. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of her companionship and for the time we've had together. And thank you, Lord, for granting me the strength to give her to you now. Amen. RIP Jedda And Hugs to you ;) Joanne.
  4. ROFL! If she has the letters CCD after her name, then you're doing a LOT better than Benson and I are. I have pretty much retired him from obedience trialling as the competitive dog world isn't quite ready for Bensons brand of obedience. It was something along the lines of....how many shades of red can the handler go and how far would she like to sink into the ground. But in true Benson style, he did it all with a big happy smile and a waggy tail! Oh I have one like that, will only do so many drops before she starts to do her bowing then rolling on her back and praying to the biscuit Gold Judges love it but unfortunately can't award points for it We are taking a break for a while to see if we can get her to be serious I live in hope
  5. I couldn't run that far if my life depended on it We had two runners on Saturday and one person made it the whole way and the other elected to ride the last approx 6kms. I bike my dogs 3 times a week and slowly increase the amount of kilometres I do and also make sure to use all the different surfaces required, swim them fortnightly and walk about 10kms each day (not on the days we bike) with lots of free running to keep their endurance levels up. Sounds like your dog will have no problems with the distance if you both jog together regularly. Good luck and let us know how you go
  6. Sending the good weather fairy your way
  7. You'll love it, Bear did his last year and now Pearl but we still bike all year round, great way to keep the dogs fit and they really enjoy it especially in summer when the night cools down, nothing like a meandering bike ride
