  1. I can, and quite frankly It's getting kinda scary And as always the responsible ones are the ones who always pay the price If they policed the laws that are already In place, with hefty fines for those that don't.....they wouldn't need to be adding more nonsense laws such as this one! In total agreement here, we have many animals problems but this law they want passed really is the least of them
  2. What a gorgeous photo and congratulations on the new addition She is divine
  3. I know I will get flamed for this, but when a dog hurts a human, they are instantly put down, yet these mongrel humans get a slap on the wrist max, I want people who do these things to animals jailed, not a $1,000 fine. If you get flamed for that then Ill get banned from Dol... I want them shot ... They dont deserve to walk amongst us... They say that animal abuse is normally 1 step before human abuse.. Well I'll join in the lynch mob as well I hate reading anything about animals being treated cruelly, there is just no need for this to happen
  4. Huh?? What rock are they hiding under? I think perhaps it's more like 'I don't want to have to deal with your weird question' kind of response. Erny I'm not sure I was a bit taken aback when they hadn't heard of it The person I spoke to went away 3 times to ask vets and other people and it still came back the same response, we haven't heard of that
  5. Feed morning and night here as well All my dogs have been raised on two meals per day
  6. I caught some of this on the news tonight while cooking dinner, they are saying the outbreak is mainly in the Western Suburbs especially around Werribee (my area ) I rang Melbourne University last year to try to book a titre test, they hadn't heard of them and suggested I talk to my regular vet I was a bit shocked as this is supposedly one of the best uni's for animals and they hadn't heard of titre testing
  7. So, why don't we see any of you Wezza people at kepala meets? My dads coming from Wezza this Sunday for it. So, why can't you? I've got a very good excuse for not going to Kepala: I'm lazy We should do a fortnightly weekend prezzy park meet! There's tonnes of Wezza people on here. Yeah but you never turn up ;)
  8. Okay not quite 5 years but 4 years later She could easily put weight on but I make sure her diet is good and balanced, she eats a third of what my GSD does and he is very lean as well both have lots of activites to keep them in good physical condition Pearl at 6 months Pearl at 4.5 years This is probably s a better shot taken on the same day
  9. Another local here - Yep, the golf course has been there for years - Werribee Park Golf Club. It's behind Werribee Park on K Road. Hi ya WG. :p Ah so that is where it is I obviously need to get out more Missed you at dancing yesterday, even stayed and did some of the harder ones
  10. Hey it only took us 10 years of living in Hoppers before we went to Werribee Zoo Must admit don't head down Werribee South much lately but will have to do that walk soon
  11. Wow look at all the gorgeous labs in these photo's Rubystar that shot of Ruby is stunning It's not only food to keep the weight down but activities to keep them well muscled and mind exercised so they don't think of food all the time and having a day job to keep burning calories helps as well Pearl has done her ET and we still ride once a week for at least 10 kms but I wouldn't run her on a bike if she was carrying any extra weight and there are so many activities that labs love to do with all this combined and a healthy diet keeps the dogs in great shape ;)
  12. ;) More Wezza people! My boyfriend is in Wyndham, so I'm down there often, father also lives in Wezza South. Have you guys done the walk near the golf course in Werribee South? Along the side of the river. I haven't done it in years as the dog my dad has is old now, and can only go around the block before limping.. And the other one got put to sleep this time last year. But they both adored it down there! I didn't even know there was a golf course there Must look it up and take the dogs for a wander
  13. This is my girl, I keep her between 27 and 29 kilos which I think is a perfect weight for her. We often get comments like "my gosh a skinny lab" to which I reply "no she isn't skinny just a nice weight" Trouble is so many people are used to seeing very overweight labs it has become a perception. Too much pressure from being overweight and especially on joints but also the heart has to work so much harder as well.
  14. Just beware of the warmer months there have recently been lots of tiger snake sightings around the lake and river area
  15. Thanks so much for sharing that site

  18. I might just do that - but aren't there 2 guide dog goups in Vic??? (I'm not from around Melb originaly) I think there is the Guide dogs and a SEDA as well. Guide Dogs are in Kew and Seda has a new name now and they are located in Kensington
  19. Gosh .... "Spotty" is certainly very attractive. I agree, I know its not correct but wow, stunning dog! Yep agree he is stunning
  20. Poor PUck sending lots of healing wishes for him Just reading through the posts and we have the same problem here everywhere we go for walks there are broken bottles as well, I really can't understand people these days :D I am always guiding my dogs left and right to avoid glass. I hope he improves with each day and the person who caused this gets Karma back on them.
