  1. It's a great idea. Because the fundraising isn't for one specific group it could be a bit hard to sell though.
  2. Try it now. Your username is your email address and your password is the part of your email address before the @ symbol. If anyone else has any difficulty ordering please email [email protected]
  3. It's that time of year again! This year's calendar is very special to me. It's a selection of rescued bull breeds that I photographed in 2010/11. These are the lucky ones that got a second chance and are now living new lives in great homes. Unfortunately bull breeds are massively over-represented in pounds and shelters around the country, so all profits from the sale of this calendar will go to help death row or rescued bull breeds in need in Australia on a case by case basis. A running total of where the funds are allocated will be published on Bull Breeds in Need in early 2012. Where can I buy them? _ On the Ruthless Leather website here. _ They'll also be on sale at Bowhouse, Bondi Beach from this weekend How much are they? AUD$25 +p&p Full details are on my blog here.
  4. There's a list on Steve's website that you could use as a starting point
  5. Thanks, I forwarded your links to the vet. There's no mention of nausea, only the staggering and loss of balance and flicking eyes. Do you know anyone in Australia whose dog has had it? Are the discussions on the LAST about testing or people's experience in dealing with it?
  6. Maybe 5? They did say she was very young to have it. Thanks for the heads up, I'll mention it to the vet
  7. I found the butter/margarine concept a bit too gross, but a triangle of Laughing Cow did the trick!
  8. Trixie got diagnosed with geriatric idiopathic vestibular disease yesterday. I have to give her antibiotics twice a day but she's kind of off her food. She's eating a little bit, but not gobbling it down like she usually would. OH tried putting them at the back of her tongue last night but she kept coughing them back up. Does anyone have any tricks? I have to give her two AB caps in the morning and one at night and anti nausea tabs 4 times a day.
  9. Mine was a Husky too. He was 7 though, so broken in so-to-speak! Luckily my OH had grown up with dogs so he wasn't as clueless as me Ivan was so easy compared to any dog's we've got since
  10. Angel used to do this. I just kept soldiering on and now (4yrs later!) she'll lag behind but doesn't do the sit down refusing to move stuff anymore.
  11. http://www.1-day.com.au/products/AA3EAN0SB I got these for our lot last time they were on sale. They're in their crates and lasting well. I know PAX had some she gave our dogs to sleep on at the kennels and they destroyed them, so only get them if your dogs aren't bed eaters!
  12. Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy Wagwear coats online? The fleece lined ones.
  13. Teach it and train it with no distraction, but proofing is when they can still do it with other dogs around. I think!
  14. I have three other dogs that he plays off lead with. His "sister" comes over occasionally also. I'd love for him to meet other dogs and I've had plenty of offers from owners of bomb proof dogs, but I know he'll spazz out when he first sees them so I thought I should wait until he doesn't do that any more before making any arrangements.
  15. Oh yes, I have Click to Calm, don't I? I should read it!
  16. As I was typing I was thinking I bet Megan's going to ask if I've tried LAT! No, I haven't. I've seen it suggested to other people but I don't know exactly what it is. Do you have a link? I've been working on getting him to look at me, but it's still early days. Using this method doesn't stop him getting excited around other dogs though, does it? It just diverts his attention until they're gone PS His name's Bruno ;)
  17. Bruno's settling in well and learning things pretty quickly. He has one pretty annoying behaviour that I'd like to get rid of though. When he sees other dogs he gets overexcited and wants to go to them. I don't let him so he keeps trying with all his might and he'll start screaming if he gets really frustrated. [it's not aggression, he plays well with other dogs.] I tried to correct him and keep walking but he wasn't improving. I can move to the side and get him to focus on food, but I don't always remember to bring food on our walks! I started group training classes with him two weekends ago. I can see a very slight improvement with him at class, but again, it's distracting him with food. Because of this I haven't been socialising him with new dogs because I don't want to reward his nonsense by letting him off lead for a play. He has a great temperament, I'd hate to break him by keeping him away from other dogs. Is that a concern?
  18. Love his expression! (Geez that collar gets around, doesn't it? )
  19. It may seem like a large outlay, but the quality is such that we can guarantee them for ten years. So in the long run it works out cheaper than buying several collars over your dog's lifetime. But we don't do red leather, only black, brown, burgundy and chestnut.
  20. My friend's dog ate some Ratsak over the weekend. She's been to the vet and was put on Vit K [iV and tablets], but she asked me to ask on here if anyone else's dog has eaten it. She hopes they got her treated in time, but she's worrying that the reaction may not happen straight away.
