  1. Mine does the nose touch too but it seems to be irrespective to where her rear end is. ah! Never had this problem, so I am no help. :rolleyes:
  2. I taught the nose touch then faded it out so now she just does 2o2o.
  3. Well Abbie and I had a pretty bad night. For some reason I thought it would only go until 8 or 9, we left at 11:30pm and it was still going! Like others, we arrived at 5pm and didn't get in the ring until after 8pm. I think our agility run would have been OK if a dog with a bell on its collar didn't walk past just before we went in the ring!! When Abbie heard the bell she completely lost focus on me and that was the end of that. Our second run wasn't until after 10pm and she got zoomies half way through the course. Last run was at 11:30 and by that time Abbie had had enough and so had I. She did the first bit ok but got to the weaves and just stopped and started off into the dark :D once she was in them we did the middle section of the course but after that she just shut down and tried to run back to the car. It wasn't a very good start to the agility year but I hope I'm not being too optimistic in saying the reason she did not perform well was because of the environment. Hopefully at Knox in 2 weeks, at a better hour of the day, she will behave! :p Well done to Leo on the title and anyone else who was successful (whether Qing or not).
  4. Well done on a great agility run and title leopuppy! I was watching and I think it was one of the few Q's.
  5. I also made one for myself using fleece. If you want a clip on the end you can buy them from hardware stores.
  6. Hi Purple Julie, I have found Understanding Exposure really useful and I've learnt some great tips about photography from it. The book is for SLR and DSLR but I still found it useful. It has info about what settings to use when etc. and some good examples in the book. I really enjoyed it and recommend it.
  7. Those poor dogs! I hate the way the handlers were really angry when they made mistakes. Some of those handlers were giving really mixed signals, no wonder the dogs took the wrong obstacles. I do understand, however, that the handlers must be under a lot of stress, especially when it all comes down to one run! ETA: sorry for being negative
  8. They are UKC agility obstacles. (i think)
  9. ME Me Me!!! Its been a loooooooooooong summer!
  10. You might want to check this thread out. Scroll down and look for Clean Run Puppy Issue.
  11. There was a maltese doing the agility demos at the Melbourne Pet & Animal Expo.
  12. Susan Garretts Shaping Success has a lot of great games in it.
  13. Hi FP i'm competeing on the 16th to, although not my first time competeing at KCC park it is my first agility trial so should be interesting. Are there any other DOLers out there who will be there? I had agility training today and Toby had problems on the weave poles which kind of shocked me since he's normally really good on the weavers, and the instructer told me he's abit unfit and I had to work on his endurance so I don't think you could count these as brags :D but we still had fun. Hopefully in a couple of weeks i'll have a brag I've entered the 16th trial but I'll wait and see what the temperature is like on the day before I decide to run or not. sorry OT, no brags from me.
  14. Seen this before but its still interesting to watch again. The weaves!!
  15. Since this thread is back I may as well put something in it. This year I'd like to successfully juggle studies, human sport, dog sport and free time. I'd like to build a stronger working relationship with Abbie and become more consistent with our agility.
  16. Sorry, missed this. I got the canon. Well my christmas present was permission to use it so its not actually mine. It was decided that even though it was more expensive outright we will be able to share lenses with my brother and also canon has a bigger range of lenses than pentax. Thanks for the tips about the book, its great!
  17. Which code of agility are you planning on entering? ANKC : If you are in Victoria (as I think you are?) it would be a good idea to phone and check that there will be 2 judges accredited to measure at that trial - this is not always the case as not all judges in Vic. are 'licensed to measure'. NADAC : You can be measured on the day, and do not have to be measured if you have nominated the top height (500) Yes i'm in Victoria, might be a silly question (im new to agility trials) who do I ring to find out about the judges? Ring the trial secretary. It will say who that is with the info about the trial, look here.
  18. I bought one from here -> www.callicoma.com.au
