This article may be a big help to you ... CLICK HERE excerpt : First understand that, a dog will increase its fitness a lot faster than you will. This means that, if you walk your dog for an hour a day and your dog is better behaved, this will be short lived. His or her fitness will increase dramatically and by week three you will likely need to increase the exercise by 50%. This is a bit of a long Blog post, I wanted to try and give you as much information on this subject as possible so it could be a great excuse for a good coffee and sit back and relax. So try and imagine as I sit in behaviour consults with people who have out of control dogs that get many hours exercise a week, asking myself “why?“ So what I decided to do was create a list of what I feel you do need to have a well balanced dog: Some daily exercise Some mental stimulation Some effective management Structure and Boundaries Drive satisfaction specific to your dogs needs Satisfactory food intake Pack engagement Communication

T NR programs are a good plan in VERY LARGE CBD areas ... otherwise - nope . -
I love seeing old/infirm dogs in a pram/pusher Whichever vehicle - it can be modified ..if it were mine .. there would be swanky patterned blanket/cushions... little water bottle/bowl ..one of these ..
-
yes, i will suggest a pusher . A bag needs to be carried .. dog will get very hot inside , and it wouldn't be all that comfortable swinging around, I'd guess . Pimp a pusher - use it as a trolley for shopping etc ...

So glad he's feeling better today

yes, adult or pup is a personal decision - based on your situation I have had some of both over the years ... Perhaps my 'heart' dog of them all was the one who found me when he was about 18 mths old. He decided I was going to be his ..and so it was for the next decade or so .
-
yes ...... I wonder what puppy was like 'at home' .

<<<Should I try being really firm with her when she does it so she knows it's wrong and see if I can get her to stop? >>> if you don't know WHY she is doing it , and you are not certain on your technique - it may make things worse .... perhaps, after a thorough vet check .. try this CLICK If you want , take a couple of photos , or a video & post here ... that gives a better idea of her body language , etc ...

@Firsttimecavmun I hope you don't think we are being pushy or over-the-top. This IS unusual behaviour for any pup , and you did the best thing in coming to ask . It DOES need professional assessment ... Definitely contact the breeder with your findings - they need to know .. and please keep us updated .
-
Definitely! Ideally , you should seek help from a VETERINARY BEHAVIOURIST - who can check everything physical and temperament-wise. if you would like some help finding someone , just let folks on here know roughly where you are .

Have you spoken with the breeder at all ? Do you know how puppies were raised ? Were they indoors/ socialised /outdoors /in a kennel ... The breeder .. what do they do with pups? Show , maybe ? Ok .. is there any chance puppy has an injury at all ?
-
Hi and welcome How old is your puppy ? Did you meet her mum/other puppies in the litter at the breeders? What were they like ? How was puppy with the vet at her first "hi, I'm a new pup and am here for a quick checkover" appointment ?
