  1. Try & keep to whatever routine these dogs are used to. It will be most confusing/upsetting for them if, when they go back to the owner .. they have trouble settling back into their normal pattern. Unless you have these dogs for a long time - try to NOT change things like food /exercise . You may not approve of how they live .. but they are not your dogs to change. If you section off a room/part of the house //then maybe leave a metre or so square of thick newspaper ,with artificial turf on, for toileting .if they are not grossly overweight .. and are used to feeding ad lib - why not allow them to do so? if they ARE overweight /not used to walking ... I advise against it ..for a few health reasons. They are not your dogs "Walks" may greatly increase the chance of exacerbating any weaknesses present in knees, etc .. "walks" can be dangerous for tiny dogs .... anything from cat attacks to large dogs to getting scared ....
  2. yep .. keep it simple :) add a clamshell sandpit and a small pool , perhaps ....
  3. ;) Cos he's a boy, cos he's a teenager, and cos he CAN. "It's mine, MINE, I tell you .... ..you...you ..girl, you ...." to anthropomorphise somewhat .... feed them separately, and immediately remove bowls , perhaps ? That's the simple option :)
  4. Glad she's eating ..it's always a worry when they don't ...and I hope you get some answers this morning .
  5. I could well be incorrect - I'm good at that ;) A crush - usually a human adolescent thing - is , AFAIK , when a young person projects all sorts of things onto the object of their interest /desire . It is also a way to prepare for adult romantic love - a way to practice linking someone to fantasies .. a way to survive rejections and disinterest in a gentler way before adult relationships :) I'm not convinced dog brains work that way ....
  6. ;) that's exactly what Widget does to Dougal cat :) playbows/licks his face /whines... lies down & rolls over :)
  7. yep, his age /attitude will be dictating how she responds . :) it sounds cute.
  8. No, they do not /can not have 'crushes' She may finally have found a dog who earns her respect , that's all :)
  9. ..haven't tried this, but it was recommended by a friend whom I trust .. LINK I think it's a 'hook' .. but hey- free is good , provided one reads the fine print :) apparently 2 hrs of video, & many pages of text are available.
  10. The OP has the medication in liquid form now .. that should make things heaps more comfortable .:) Where does it say that Pers? (aside from a pill popper online) oops . my mistake I read this incorrectly. apologies for any confusion .
  11. The OP has the medication in liquid form now .. that should make things heaps more comfortable .:)

  15. Dear old souls .. it is such a relief to know they no longer suffer ...
  16. Agree with nic.b you and this pup are having communication problems .. and there are training issues which are better sorted now . I also suggest a professional .. one RECOMMENDED by somone who has used them .. D O L can help find someone who is not just in it for the money ..or who has a flashy website ;) Your pup is growing up quickly .. and desperately needs guidelines and guidelines . many many folks have entire pups/dogs .. and , believe me .. the 'evil hormones' are NOT responsible for all the bad behaviour .Understanding /training /consistency and training .... these are most important . Ask to help find someone who can talk to you /assess the pup's temperament /behaviour, and then point you in a direction ....
  17. ..ahh .. you failed to mention she was growling, biting... that makes it a bit harder ;) Liquid sounds good! Hopefully the blood tests will give you an answer tonight .
  18. have you ever had many claws enter your body unexpectedly and at once? it HURTS .....
  19. Mitchell's surgery involved deepening the groove for it to sit back in , and re-directing some ligaments to hold everything ; bandaged and immobile leg .. some weeks of convalescence and being spoilt ..and a build up to full use again . it was perfect for the next 6 or so years :) I remember it , as I assisted during surgery .... probably not the best idea in retrospect Hope your boy's issue is easily fixed ..and he doesn't have to endure the pain :)
  20. ..you can, if you are crushing them .. do as suggested above .. or crush finely and mix with butter or icecream ( about a teaspoonful) ..pop it into her mouth .. RIGHT IN .. and jut gently hold her mouth closed while patting and talking to her ... the icream/butter melts ..she swallows .... it should happen.

  22. Is this really what happens > the same thing over & over? Training, I've always been told is better in short bursts, often ...
