  1. Apple Cider is good stuff ….. but would sting that already sensitive and sore skin, wouldn't it? Must admit, I like something that will offer immediate soothing. Like, ummmm, Calendula :D agree. Vinegar solution ,and possibly saline solution may well sting /taste awful /make next treatment that much more difficult ;) Calendula, hey? I think I have heard a whisper about that ,somewhere :p
  2. Not really cheap .. but if you don't want to use chemicals and are having a problem accessing vet care , consider using colloidal SILVER . I have seen it do good things with my animals ( cat fight abscess, goat with mastitis, dog with gunky eyes ) use internally and externally ....it is easy to use as it has almost no taste/smell - doesn't sting/foam or adversely affect surrounding skin
  3. I haven't seen the video ... agree with W W .
  4. Farrar , Feargus .... he is just beautiful!! Looks very old & wise :)
  5. perhaps put this in General ? palliative care doesn't get heaps of traffic .... thinking of you & your poor dog/s
  6. :D I think you'll find that many of us have dogs and cats ...and other animals with whom we share our homes.!! Some of are crazy cat people , even! The thing is - they are animals ..and many will attack / kill the others - instinct & all that . Human owners are entrusted with the responsibility to avert this happening - by one way or another. Often it doesn't work out , and injury/death is a result.
  7. ..I suggest on lead..and go elsewhere .. :) at least he's enthusiastic !
  8. definitely torches & pitchforks ;) How disappointing. One would hope for some sort of 'paper' trail or email/bank confirmation ...photos of chosen pup, etc ...
  9. perhaps she could have a tshirt /bandana for her coffee days .. "I' d rather have 3 legs than Cancer" ? So glad she's feeling so much better! many years ago I remember a lab stud dog who had osteosarcoma and had a front leg removed . it took him a while to re organise the leg lifting /pee routine .. but he could still do his stud duties with a little help .
  10. That's odd .... in someone else's house , he goes looking for the dog ?
  11. sounds as if you got carried away...by cute... phone or email the breeder straight away!! Talk to them - I'm sure you're not the first ;) meanwhile do not let cat/parrot/pup all be in the same room - it's not fair on any of them , and not good for your stress levels :) As said .. do NOT sell/give puppy to anyone other than the breeder if possible .... and by all means keep us posted . BREATHE !!
  12. Christina .. by all means , if a perfect home can be found with someone known - grab it! However, if all played out as sam man suggested ... dog living with friends, sam man visiting , etc .. no, that would , IMO , be not conducive to Loki settling . It may also put a strain on the friendship ......
  13. Ams ... I am so sorry . sending thoughts & strength.
  14. What an odd thing to see in a newspaper.... .. in the scheme of things ... "dog attacks cat"
  15. Hope the decision sits easy .... Loki will be grateful :)
  16. Sam. Is there some sort of social club for city apartment dog owners ? Perhaps talk with someone about apartment living ?
  17. awww... what's that saying ? "a tired dog is a good dog" :)
  18. Sam man ... seriously - as has been said , rehoming is just that . No visitation rights , for the good of the animal. :) Hope you two get to stick together !!
  19. ..and why your friends may not be the ideal new owners . You'll have to rip the bandaid off all at once . fresh start.
  20. No putting greens in an inner city flat ;) ..and where will you keep your little getaway igloo?
