amazing photos!!!
-
he looks to be enjoying it!
-
he may have an infection which is making it a bit irritated .. and leads to the licking, etc. have him vet checked first - and if everything is ok - then you can work on distracting him etc
-
How old is your pup, where did he come from, and where do you walk him?
-
I am so glad you have spoken with the man who had her Perhaps get someone to do a lovely portrait of her to give him ? I'm sure someone will love to have her as an active companion!
-
data collection??? we had a bitch kill another - we buried two dogs that day. We will not have ,or rehome a dog which has severely injured/killed another.
-
I'm so sorry you lost your new puppy You must be feeling sad and angry and so disappointed. In case you didn't realise .. (apologies if you know this) your house/yard is now contaminated with the virus, and you will not be able to safely have any dog/puppy there that is not FULLY vaccinated. There is cleaner/disinfectant available which will kill Parvo - MOST ORDINARY THINGS DON'T. There is some information on D O L if you CLICK HERE

Living where you are - perhaps the yellow boy?... our black dogs seem to feel much hotter in Summer- as their coat absorbs more of the heat, I guess ... One pup is enough for anyone to handle at first
-
You are not a bad 'mummy' - you are a dog owner who simply made a mistake - same as your OH. yes, dogs showing their animal side ..their strength, drive and basic behaviour, when we sometimes see them as 'children' can be a jolt! I hope your stepdaughter also understands that this is what often happens with dogs & small animals...
-
but there may be a vet there willing to talk with her!!!
-
Many years ago - we had a lab who used to find litters of farm cat kittens and play with them She killed quite a few . They weren't bitten/eaten.. just very slobbered on. Most of our dogs have ,at some stage of their life killed a chook/guineafowl . It happens...and , if it;s anyone's fault , then it is OUR fault , for not protecting the smaller critters.

donated.... for poor vicsta .
-
yep- puppies get really excited.. and it sometimes translates to a humping movement . Ignore/detach/move on. keep an eye on the vulva .. often puppies do get some discharge, but if it persists, see a vet
-
If his gums are that pale- vet/ hospital and phone them... even if they are nowhere near you!Even just talking to them ,explaining why you are calling .. will help you .
-
Poor Joss .. did anyone see him with the GP's? he is still exactly the same dog you left this morning ... absolutely no reason to throw him outside ....he will have absolutely NO idea why you want him outside , none at all. Your partner perhaps needs to read some of these replies - maybe you can print them out , so he can learn about how dogs think, and not apply punishment as he would to one of his children
-
Hope she is feeling better tomorrow!
-
is the blood perhaps from an injury to her oesophagus/stomach? Perhaps it gets 'opened up again' when food passes through, and starts bleeding. Poor girl. Hope she will be ok. did she eat sharp bones/eggshells/foreign object that you can think of ?

persephone replied to Ambrosia's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I am so glad- perhpas not for the dog, but at least ,for now she will be somewhere she feels nore comfortable. I am sure, that with help from the spitz/rescue folks on DOL, your friend can find a new dog who will fit her family -

Agreed! This is a severe behavioural issue, and one which really needs a professional to assist. -
While there may have been lots of things this owner should have/could have done - he didn't. My thoughts are that he probably kept her on when his wife left ... perhaps he had the kids occasionally, and they played with her ... Being a truckie- no, he wouldn't be home much , and everyone has their breaking point - pound fees, getting calls saying "we've found your dog " (again)..not being a 'doggy' person ..and being away so much and perhaps to spite his wife , he jumped at the chance to have her in a nice home somewhere Which is why I am really hoping that all the paperwork gets done! if she is in the wife's name ..then she will need to know ..whatever, the dog needs to be properly signed over, or whatever happens ..

Not much to do with breed ..but everything to do with hormones, and the drive to reproduce Looking forward to seeing photos of your dogs when things settle down a bit !

Ouch! Puppy Teeth Sure Are Sharp Little Buggers!
persephone replied to Nadine83's topic in Puppy Chat
payback for what you did to her ears ! -
Another thought- perhaps contact the breeder/s of your dogs and ask them?

ACE will make him a bit dopey and wobbly - it won't stop him WANTING to get to her, but will make it very difficult , as he will be zonked. The implant is a 'chemical castration' one .... here a few links which may help with understanding what's happening ... LINK LINK LINK LINK
