  1. There are worse things, IMO than debarking. Ok.. can you borrow/buy one of those security type cameras ..and aim it at the yard/dogs? That way you wil have a record of what happens during the day. OR.. buy a digital voice recorder...they run for HOURS.. tuck it safely out the back ..switch it on, and have a listen when you get home. That way you will knoe/have proof....
  2. I have always been fortunate to have a replacement waiting in the wings ... it is the only way I can manage ..not always planned... but it has happened. I can not stand to see an empty bed/kennel . You do whatever you feel is right for you... cry , stamp on the floor , write a poem... plant a tree....whatever. Everyone is different . I am sorry you no longer have your old boy... ;)
  3. ..Hi.You now contact a recommended professional person. That person comes to your house..checks what the problem is, and helps you to manage it. That person, if they arereputable and honest .. can then write down their findings/instructions which should help explain things to neighbours/council. If you ask on here- I'm sure someone will suggest who to contact ;) Wishing you success....and a quiet dog ;)
  4. I have never received much..but it is always accurate. Don't forget that 'recently' their production costs went up...so if you didn't alter your percentage , you won't be getting as much ...also.. check your older works are marked correctly. Also..they don't pay anything unless you have $20.00 or more 'in kitty' Sorry..not much help, probably. Does THIS help ?
  5. That beast is a cockerxkoolie . Know it for a fact .Mum was a little black cocker..our old Fred Koolie was the dad...and yes, it was a BIG accident .... fred was working on a property ..he was chained for the night .. little miss dug out of her pen.....
  6. Is there somewhere tiled that you can babygate off or something?
  7. Can you get someone to make tailor made 'trampoline' type beds for the crates? this way there is air circulating. That, with a wire crate.. and they should be a lot cooler.
  8. Hamlet 'owns' our couch..no one else uses it much. I have a large old curtain on it as a cover... one of the sun proofed/waterproof ones . then, over that goes his sheet/pillow. The lower waterproof layer means couch stays ok He hates lying on the couch without his covers !
  9. It's great stuff though slight sidetrack:o ...we only get stickfast/rabbit fleas here... and they congregate on eartips/between toes, and on bare belly . all areas quickly and easily and economically sprayed with permoxin ..and the dogs accept it happily
  10. Hi Can't help with a trainer for you... but there may be some things of use if you start reading this...and keep going! CLICK HERE
  11. I think free-feeding takes away a bonding chance/experience ;) each time we feed our dog - we get a chance to give teh dog something it wants, in return for a behaviour ..we also usually pour praise on the dog ..and teh dog learns that WE are the providers of the good stuff Just leaving a bowlful on the floor does nothing.....except teach otherwise well fed dogs to snack ....
  12. So- if you are at home- he sticks close and responds every time to his name? is he just not doing so when outside? Up until recently , how have you walked him each day ? Has he been like this for years? Or is it just since you started a new routine? I don't train using food- but would suggest associating his name with the TASTIEST things - tiny shreds of roast chicken... or little fragments of dried liver ...and make sure he smells it all -so he knows what is available
  13. Even a tiny bit of shampoo needs rinsing off.. and permoxin is VERY economical if applied with a spray bottle (unless you have a very thick coated dog? I use it most days here- just in spray bottles ;)
  14. ;) he is probably 'tuning out' to give himself a bit of peace How is he at home? Does he come when you say his name? Does he know /obey commands without hand signals- just voice? Does he respond to a whistle,or a clicker? Does he respond to barking dogs? Have you done any regular training with him in the past 6 years?
  15. Indeed ;) Dogs are not all born solid and well-adjusted . My recommendation is to enlist the help of a professional - who can observe the behaviour- then explain it to you, and give you some management help ;)
  16. maybe a problem in her back? How's her gum colour/refill time ? Don't know much about it- but did anyone suggest pancreatitis? Not sure what other symptoms there are apart from pain....
  17. YES!!!! with focus... esp. in animal photography (and humans I guess) always focus on the eyes . Eyes are what we look at first... and if they are in focus , then a bit of fuzzy elswhere is ok
