Happy belated birthday Kuges!!! ;) Lovely to see you going so well.

Could well be that they like the grass. All our dogs have eaten grass, and seem to enjoy it. We've had them checked by vets, and they're all fine. Apparently some dogs just like it, and I've noticed it's particular grasses they like. If you are worried, talk to the vet, but ours are fine.

We feed kangaroo mince to our dogs. It's lean and they love it! We add a little to thei kibble, and they are both doing really well on it.

So sorry for your loss. You did the best thing for her. It's never easy losing a beloved pet, but at least she didn't suffer for a long time. Hugs.

I would rather be safe than sorry. I know of two dogs that ate something whilst walking along the river, and both got ill. They were treated by the same vet, who thought that they had ingested the same substance. Both dogs recovered. I watch our dogs constantly when walking with them, and Harry, the greyhound, is muzzled, so can't pick anything up.

It was on the West St side I gather, near the oval there. I will get more of a specific location when I get hold of Mum, and put it on here ASAP.

Mum is going to contact the Ranger and the police, she said that they pften drive around there in the mornings.

There have been a couple of local dogs apparently baited down by the Shoalhaven River a few weeks ago, and this morning, my Mum was walking her dog at the showground (which is a leash free area), and found balls of mince meat on the ground. She picked them up and threw them in the bin. They looked fresh, and were in an area that there should be no picnickers, so wierd that they were there. She rang me and told me about it this morning. It sh*** me that people would try to bait dogs, especially in areas that are designated for dogs. If you live around Nowra, and use the showground to excercise your dogs, be careful that they don't eat anything.

We were walking Harry and Whitney along the river bank near home (Shoalhaven river, Nowra) the other day, and one of the ladies who lives along there came and told us to be careful of letting the dogs eat anything along the river. Apparently two dogs had become very ill in the last couple of weeks after eating something, and the vet had said that both dogs had been affected by the same substance. They have both recovered, but they're not walked along there any more. I have heard a rumour (and that's all it is) that some one local is doing it because owners don't pick up their dog's poos, and they are annoyed about that. Hopefully not true as I'd hate to not be able to walk my two down there, as it's a lovely spot. Harry is muzzled (greyhound) and Whitney has, so far, not tried to eat anything. They are both always on leads, so if they pick up anything, we take it off them anyway. A lot of the people let their dogs off lead (even though it's not an offlead area), so they run the chance of having problems. Be careful as there seems to be a bit of it going on. i saw on the news the other day that somewhere in Balmain was having similar issues.

That is sooooo cute. I'll have to send the link to my Mum, she's got one that talks as well.

My husband takes a beer along when we walk the dogs. The neighbours reckon he's got it worked out. Same thing with the poo bags hanging out of his back pockets. I've resisted the urge to take a wine along, but have taken a coke sometimes.

I brought Harry in a few weeks ago, but can't today because the resident dog is here, and it would be bedlam!

Our greyhound is good at sulking, and teh great dane we had was the same. They both did the best sighs to show their unhappiness. We always have a giggle at Harry's sulking when he's showing us his disappointment. So cute!

Well, Harry is here with me today. On the whole he's been such a good boy! The only hassle is that every time a door opens, he wants to go and see what's happening, and being a greyhound, I'm worried he'll get out for a great run! Everyone loves him, and keep saying he's such a big boy. This seems strange, as Flash was 82kgs when she died, and Harry is 34kg, so he's always been our little boy! I'm enjoying him coming over for cuddles, but between wee walks, he's mostly lying on his bed behind me until a door opens. It would be great to have here all the time, but with the resident pup, I don't think that'll work! Nice for a Friday!!
