  1. Jules and Trudi are great - they run classes at several locations so have a chat to them. They also teach at Leicchardt Training Club on Sundays.

    Hates His Food

He will not let himself starve. Personally I do not think a dog has the ability/ capacity to get bored with the same food every meal.
  3. Puppy pre-school? They do courses for all ages of dog so can progress through them. www.doglogic.com.au They hold them at For Dog's Sake on Cleveland St
  4. I too wait for the day when it is easier Lea. Hugs for you xx
  5. Are you in Australia? I just notice you say "will bring him to the vet" - not "take him to the vet"
  6. Another point - a 7 week old puppy (or any young puppy for that matter - even at 5 months I don't) should not be walked for exercise. Exercise should be free exercise which means some play time in the home or backyard - it should not be 'forced exercise'. At 7 weeks old and such a small breed I would have thought 10 mins at a time would be more than enough but am open to correction on that from small breed owner. Have you had confirmation that he had his vaccination at 6 weeks?
  7. DO NOT take your 7 week old puppy out on walks! As it is, he was too young to have left his mother. What injections has he had? If he had his 6 week one then it takes up to 2 weeks before the immunity is there. You are exposing your puppy to parvo, kennel cough etc. Please find MissyMoo's thread in Health or Show Ring to find out what happens if a puppy gets parvo. Read up about crate training. Not confining such a small pup at such a young age in a small area is IMO pitiful. My 5 month old 35kg dane gets put into his crate without any problems - it is their secure space. If he is crying - take him out, do the toilet routine and otherwise ignore him. When he is finished - straight back into the crate. Just out of interest - was he a spur of the moment purchase or a planned, researched one?
  8. Poor little dog. How about people don't start slamming the evil nasty vet when we are hearing third hand what the vet allegedly said to the owner of the dog, who told the OP who is now telling us. And agree with Clyde - why put a sick dog through grooming??
  9. There is one at the greyhound centre I think
  10. Angus 06/11/06 - 17/09/08 Missed so much every day.
  11. Check with any of the vet people here - you will find that the majority of dogs who present with KC have in fact been vaccinated for KC. There are only a few strains of KC in the vaccination and there are many more strains of KC out there. The 12 week shot also contains the KC component.
  12. Not the best thread! Have a read back over a few pages in this thread or use the search function as there have been some recent threads which have been quite comprehensive!
  13. It may not be but most obedience schools won't accept your pup unless it is upto date with the vaccs. I was told there had to be a minimum of four weeks between vaccs. My vet refused to do it any earlier and I was told to come back in a week. Only went early cause I didn't look at the date on Ivys vacc card. Just went on her age .. 16 weeks. Depends on how up to date the obedience schools are with vaccination protocols. An obedience school here was ok with Angs in a class and he had not had his annual booster because he had good reason not to have had it.
  14. It does not have to be nobivac if you are not going to give the 16 week one.
  15. That was my vote but I'd have to go looking for the number too He is fantastic His number is 0411 353 130
  16. 6 and 12 weeks is plenty. Third injection is not necessary IMO.
  17. Saying no calmly will not stop the behaviour - you need a sound/word which identifies/marks the behaviour as inappropriate and which distracts them from what they were doing.
  18. Many people find AH! (deep, sharp, gutteral) more effective than NO particularly as NO is an every day 'conversation' word.
  19. Maybe eating dog food caused me to grow SO big!
  20. I would say no probs PM - Milo used to eat my friend's dog's biscuits all the time. As you say - it is dogs eating cat biscuits which is the problem because of the protein levels. I sometimes find Milo eating Boo's biscuits - and did the same with Angs too. Cheeky cats!
  21. Oh Griff - I am so so sorry to hear this.

    Lucy

So sorry for your loss LC. It is hard when they have to go before their time but it sounds like she had a marvellous life with you and knew she was well loved. 6 Nov was my Angs' birthday so she would have had a birthday party to go to at the Bridge - cake, squeaky toys and lots of others to look out for her. Hugs
  23. More tears for you today Kaz Xander will be sorely missed - such a gentle grumble bum! Kaz - you did such fantastic work to get Xander to where he was at compared to where he had come from. I know he will be sorely missed by sas too who started him on this journey and Cordy who gave him the chance in the first place. I will miss his special cuddles and I am sad that Boo did not get to meet him, knowing how much Angs liked him.
