  3. Great meet - nice and small. OMG Jaana!!! I am SO in love :D And Ruger...well he's just stolen my heart! Heather, it's hard to even imagine he is sick. He seemed to be fine. You have a very hard decision to make. My kids were extremely annoying - they won't be coming again, but thanks Shannon for keeping them occupied! My son especially wanted to take home Eve and both pugs
  4. Just checking to make sure I wasn't going to be the only one there.
  5. I'll def be there Heather...I want to see Ruger. Looking forward to spoiling him with loads of cuddles. God, poor boy...and poor you, trying to make the decision!
  6. Might be at this one...Heather you still bring the gorgeous Ruger?? I might have my kids with me at this one though. They'll probably ignore everyone's dogs and play on the playground though. Do we bring anything to the small meets?
  7. What's wrong with matching pegs??? Normal sight MM...and what would be expected at your house LOL.
  8. Would LOVE to go to this...I sleep talk though LOL.
  9. Disgusting. A member of here AND a registered breeder should know better.
  10. I do think the sale of pets needs to be banned in pet stores AND newspapers and internet. The only people selling pets should be registered breeders and pound/rescue. Yes, it may force it underground, but if someone has a puppy, questions need to be asked "where did you buy it?" And then the owner needs to prove it came from an allowed organisation. Your average Joe Blow wont have much idea where to start looking for a dog on the black market and they wont know where to sell them if they can't offload them to the pet store or put an ad in the paper. Even if it does go underground, it will dramatically decrease the number of dogs being bred. And if someone is found to have a dog from a disallowed organisation, they should get a fine. Another fine if the dog is unregistered, another if dog is not chipped and yet another if dog is not desexed. Compulsory desexing is also needed. The public needs to be educated as well as to why Fido or Fluffy does NOT need to have a litter and why it is better for his or her health to desex their dogs and cats. I believe cats need to be registered as well. There are too many animals dying daily in pounds, so something is obviously not working. So why not start making changes - they can only benefit.
  11. Katie, I can bring Indi in (ex rescue foster dog) and give a talk about rescue if you like. I've done it at my daughters daycare.
  12. You are not helping. I already badly want a lappie and those photos are making it WORSE!
  13. Ching is SUCH a sweetheart! I just adored her typical Chow-ness lol.
  14. Yep, I replied on there. I'm disappointed in him. He of all people should know better!
  15. I love most breeds of dogs (and crosses) but had never gone goo-goo over a dog. I have always liked Mallys but know I could never handle one. However, at a dog meet, a little bundle of fluff came flying over to me and jumped on my lap. I had NO idea what it was and had to ask. And that was my first experience with a lappie. Since then, I have read everything I can find about them, spoken to everyone I can who owns one, and met 2 more in the flesh. And I am hooked. They tick all my boxes and are everything I want in a dog. I want a cuddly, energetic, intelligent lap dog, who is good with kids, cats and other dogs. I hope to eventually get a lappie and have already spoken to several breeders.
  16. Can't wait to see her again! Her sister, Mum's Sophie, is going well too.
  17. The RSPCA (not my favourite organisation) has started a new initiative to close down puppy mills. Please pledge your support today and pass on the URL to as many people as you can. http://www.closepuppyfactories.org/index-lo.html
  18. God I SO wish I could take him!!! Mally's are my dream dog.
  19. I got about 3 words into your tribute and starteed crying...then started laughing, then started crying again. I'm still crying now. RIP Magnus...you were certainly one in a million. We only knew you through DOL, but many of us feel pain at yor passing, although nowhere near the extent of your Mum of course. Look after all your brothers and sisters at the Bridge and keep everyone in line. Jed, I am so, so sorry. How you felt about Magnus was so evident in every one of your posts, although none more so than that last post from you. I can't fathom losing what you have and still standing. You are an incredible, inspirational woman. I need tissues. Lots of them. And a good stiff drink.
  20. Jed, you are incredible. You're so philosophical about things - I'd probably still be a mess! I third the idea of an MDBA award named after Jed.
  21. RIP Meg. Hope your journey over the Rainbow Bridge was an easy one. I'm so sorry Jed. I have a real soft spot for cockers. Your description of Meg was beautiful. Someone poked me in the eye again...
  22. Your tributes to your beautiful dogs are so beautiful to read, yet so heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing them with us. Your dogs were all absolutely gorgeous. I think someone must have poked me in the eye.
