  1. We have never had the flea problem like we have had this year. We use Advantix because of the high tick area that we live in. After a lot of reading and deliberation we resorted to Confortis. That is just over a week ago and all is good.
  2. Thanks for posting. We have been considering using this treatment for a while. Gave it to our boy last night with food, no problem. Gave it to one of the girls tonight and she seems OK.
  3. Zero is pretty cute, but than he is a husky. :D What sort of pets? It's a while since I filled in the forms for The Expo, but I always thought that it was a definite NO.
  4. After we say hi, can we pat a pony? only if you say ' pretty please with suger on top ' ;) Hope I don't say it to the wrong person.
  5. After we say hi, can we pat a pony?
  6. Don't get a Sibe, if you want a peacful nights sleep and don't want to get woken up at 3 in the morning by a dog getting through a hole in the fence that a rabbit couldn't fit through. :D This hole has been a project for a few days I would think. She did enjoy her splash in the pond though.
  7. Don't be shy, come and say hi. :) We will be on the Sibe stand on the Sunday.
  8. Hopefully that will be with us. Still working out who is going and when.
  9. They are in Sydney pet shops as well. Eight Below was on the other night. Puppy Farmers dream come true.
  10. Thanks for all your support, for my little red girl. It looks like we should be OK for a while. Will organise all the paper work with our vet tomorrow and hopefully the product will be available soon. Once again thank you to every one that took the time to read this and help if they could.
  11. Hi Miss B That would be good if you can, it would give us a bit of a buffer if Dermcare aren't up and running with the product.
  12. Thank you so much Fordogs. Even if people could ask their local vet. I understand that they have their own clients, but if they have any to spare it would be greatly appreciated.
  13. I'm hoping you may be able to help me please. My Siberian Husky ( female 7 years old " Jatz" ) suffered from glaucoma last year and unfortunately lost sight in her right eye. We were advised that she may have to have the eye removed due to ongoing infections but our vet first prescribed a combination of treatments using Xalatan eye drops and Conoptal viscous eye drops. We have continued this treatment ( one drop every morning and evening ) now for nearly twelve months without any further deterioration in the eye and no further infections.... so all is good. Unfortunately Bayer are no longer distributing the Conoptal in Australia and the new distributor ( Dermcare ) will not have any stock for release until at least March, possibly later. We ran out of Conoptal and tried another product ( Ilium Opticin ) but that does not seem to work and the eye's condition began to worsen. I've managed to find 2 x 3gm tubes by contacting vets and Dermcare directly and her eye has recovered again, but this supply will only last for another 2 weeks or so. Is there anyone able to source some of this product for me? I can provide a veterinary prescription if required and can reimburse you via electronic funds transfer, credit card, paypal or whatever works best for you. Hope someone out there can help my girl.
  14. Hi Posting for a friend, for people who may be interested. I wanted to share the news that Dr Ian Dunbar is coming to Australia in February next year for a 3-day lecture series in Sydney & Melbourne. Ian is one of the better known names in dog training and is the founder of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers back in the 90's, which has now become the largest pet dog training organisation in the world. He is a veterinarian, animal behaviourist and dog trainer as well as author, publisher and TV presenter. For more information go to http://www.dunbarinoz.com
  15. Update. Thanks sinta for your information. They have contacted the person from Gumtree and are meeting today.
  16. Wow Thanks Sinta. They would of course need to check her out.
  17. We have escape artists too. One of ours used the zed like frame on the back of a gate to climb. Once her back feet where secure she would haul herself over. The way we found out she was doing this is we took our other dog out the front, and my husband watched her. What we did is we put lattice on the top of the gate but at an angle. This way the dog has to go backwards to move forwards, and she couldn't make the jump. Hope that makes sense.
  18. I don't know Perth at all. Possibly near "Morley"
  19. Hope this link works. ANY DOG WALKERS IN PERTH / KNOW ANYONE IN PERTH WHO CAN HELP THIS FAMILY STAY TOGETHER?? PRETTY PLEASE?? Repost from Alaskan Malamute Rehoming Aid: Cooma and his fursister Rani needs your help to find them somebody willing and able to take them on regular walks. Their mum, Deb, is heartbroken because she can no longer walk them due to needing a knee reconstruction and then a hip replacement after that. Deb adopted Rani from AMIN when Barb was an admin of that group and adopted Cooma from the pound. He is almost blind. Deb desperately wants them to be cared for properly but can't bear to part with them and daily exercise is a requirement. Is there anyone or even a few people who live in Perth, that may be able to help this wonderful family out....so they don't even have to consider parting ever again?. We will post the area in Perth as soon as it's known. Thanks. by: Arctic Breed Rescue If you can help, please contact [email protected] Thanks
  20. You do everything possible to protect your guys. They are our and about early this year. We never walk in the bush, but I spoke to a guy on Saturday morning when we were walking, and he had seen a snake. I don't know why people walk their dogs through the bush. Snakes, ticks, and 1080 baits.
  21. Some old favourites. Haven't posted photos for ages, hope it works
  22. Sorry Teebs it didn't work out the way that most people hoped. Some good people on board trying to help this pup. The thing is he will probably end up in rescue, but with a hell of a lot more problems and harder to get a good home. Thanks for all your time and effort for this little guy. A pity owners don't have to sit a test before they get a pup.
