  1. I read somewhere on the forum tonight that some dogs were getting a virus (not KC) which had the hacking and white froth, but I'v looked at so many pages that I can' remember where So it could be that? Although, KC is going around Perth ATM. Do they do a test for KC or something? Not sure, never really had anything to do with it.
  2. Supercoat? Replace the Pal tins with Nature's Gift if you must feed tinned, it has much much better ingredients, Pal is mainly water. There is a huge range of kibble to choose from, depending on your price range of course. How active is your dog? Basically, the best food for your dog is the one your dog does well on. Can't remember who has that as their sig :D
  3. I am lucky that Kyzer has very light nails, I can see the quicks in all but two of his claws which are black. I've been meaning to get a Dremel for ages, thanks for the reminder. ETA: Blossom - forgot to say - if you haven't already, read the link sigzephyr posted, there is a link on the left side of the page to "how to dremel nails" it has thorough instructions how to introduce the dremel properly so that the dogs don't mind it, also pictures of how to do it. It's very helpful. :p
  4. There is a Pap over here that is doing Agility, his name is Rocket, he has a few titles I think. Pap's can be great at agility. I look forward to meeting yours Yeah you use their equipment during class, it gets packed away at the end of each class.
  5. Why's he having a break from showing? The classes aren't on over the Christmas school holidays though, Kyzer is going to have withdrawals
  6. It's $60 annually and no other fees for the classes, it's all included in the one membership cost. Do you have a Papillon?
  7. Cool thanks Ptolomy I'm steering clear of Bunnings, depending on how keen I get I was also considering checking out the Tip shop at Armadale Tip. (My brothers favourite place )
  8. There have been dogs in the puppy class that are 2 years plus. I think it's a good club, I enjoy it It's up to you if you want equipment at home or not, there are a few things you can practice without equipment, flatwork / groundwork etc. Also it is probably a good idea to attend a few training sessions first so you can learn how to use the equipment properly, body language etc. I'm on a mission this weekend to make some equipment to practice on over the break, a little a-frame, low jumps, and I'm getting a tunnel off ebay. Yay for having an OH who can weld and get steel for me
  9. I know two pet BC's who get clipped. One got shaved right down and they gave him a sort of brush tail, he looks like an oversized possum, the poor thing Thanks for the tip about the coat coming back thicker, I'll pass that on to the owners ness.
  10. How old is your dog ncarter? I am doing the puppy foundation classes on the Tuesday nights, it is great fun and we are learning the basics on puppy-sized equipment. I have noticed that when some older dogs come who have not done any agility training before they put them in the puppy class for a few weeks so they can learn the basics. You can come down and suss it out. Talk to the instructors they will tell you your options. Ptolomy is right, last day of training is 4th December
  11. Kyzer has been fed Nutro Small Puppy since we got him (among with other things, including BARF Patties, RMB and the occasional tin of Nature's Gift) He's never been super keen on the Nutro. When his barrel of Nutro runs out (1 month or so) I will be getting Nutrience Holistic to try. Easier to get in WA.

    Kong Masters?

Do they chew on the pipe, mercedes? Kyzer never really liked his kongs, he was like Pepper, wingus, when I made them a challenge he would just get bored and go find something more interesting to do LOL
  14. Hi HFB sorry to hear the news I don't know where the Caning Vale pool is but Ocean Reef Vet have a Hydrotherapy Pool: http://www.oceanreefvet.com.au/Home/ All the best with it :hugs:
  15. I think Spanner is in Adelaide Please confirm, spanner. Barkalicious are in Mt Barker. their website is www.barkalicious.com.au
  16. jamesandean, for years people told me it would be cruel to get a dog because i was working full time. Eventually I thought 'when am I not going to be working full time'? I was willing to take the pup to training etc which a lot of people who work less hours than me aren't. I contacted a breeder and explained my situation and they were happy to give me a pup. I leave home at 8 and come home about 6, although OH is usually home about 5. We got him on a Friday, we went to work on the Monday. OH came home every lunch time for the first month or two, since then he gets 2 meals a day. We go to training twice a week, and I am sure to spend a lot of time with him on the weekends, and take him for walks daily, or at the very least have a good game of fetch in the back yard. Most dogs adapt incredibly well. If you feel that you can do it - go for it, getting Kyzer was the best thing I did and I need to work full time to pay for all his toys, training, gear, food etc Good luck with your pup and we expect photos
  17. Oh Cassie I am so sorry to hear this news I hope you and your family including Zephyr are okay, my thoughts are with you, RIP Oakley you big beautiful Boy
  18. They're the ones I wish my dog liked them, it would really save me time cutting up food for training
  19. Plugging your own shop, very classy Hope she feels better after having her ears cleaned out, Husky. I hate the feeling of ear drops too Poor Daisy
  20. If only you liked Terriers: There ars ome very successful Tenties doing Agility around Australia. Kyzer has started Agility, and he loves it, he loves the tunnels and the jumps. He is learning it really quickly, much faster than obedience I saw a Sheltie pup last night and it was absolutely Puny I didn't realise how little they were.
  21. Just thought I would post and let you know how this is progressing... I had always made Kyzer sit and wait for his dinner, watch me, etc, but this last week I have been making a point to ignore him when I get home from work. Just for 5 minutes or so, until he loses interst in me beong there and wanders off, then I call him to me and say hello. It has made a huge difference in him, he is nowhere near as growly, and is much more affectionate. I thought I had pack order in check but obviously I didn't. Thanks for all the suggestions
  22. Kyzer still does it, not so bad with me, still there though, I'm starting a 'no teeth on skin' policy just to make him realise it's not ot, it's hard though, because OH likes to wrestle with him and doesn't stop him from mouthing him. Need to train them both I have discussed it with OH and he has agreed to not let him mouth him.
