  1. Exhibitor parking had to be pre-booked and paid with your entries I believe. There is also public parking that must be pre-booked at least 7 days in advance according to the website http://www.eastershow.com.au/info/parking.aspx Oh really? Damn, I didn't even enter. How does that work with people going back on GS day then? Surely there's public carparks somewhere... We arrive at the airport at 7:30am on the Friday morning and were going to head straight to the Royal.
  2. Do you need a special ticket to park in this carpark? I am going to help a friend show, but we are arriving from Brisbane at 7:30am and going straight to the Royal. Is this a general public carpark, or is this just the exhibitor one? Thanks.
  3. I would like to know also. Can you just buy at the gate? We will be going back on Sunday and my mum and I need a pass.
  4. Beagle Specialties are on at Castle Hill on the 7th and 8th April.
  5. Group 4 was a beagle who went RUBIS! So proud of Leonie and her boy Eddie "Ch Raesay Spirit of Adventure". Clever kid :)
  6. The beagle breeders have had nothing but issues with GenTest recently over the FVII tests. People have been waiting 4 months for results and still don't have them. I paid the extra and went direct through the US and got my results back in about a 6 week turn around. Cost me a bit more, but I didn't have to wait 4 months for the results. Some results that are being sent out have been received by GenTest WEEKS before she's actually passed them on. I don't like that she gets the results, puts them in a "certificate" and sends them on. There's a rather large margin for error there with results being written wrong, or given for the incorrect animal. Short of it.. if I've gone direct through VetGen, I've had no issues. But going through the Australia Rep has been hopeless. Adding to that, they found another mutation after quite a few tests had been done and ended up re-testing all beagles and results have changed for a few. I emailed VetGen requesting that all retests be sent to the person who requested the test, not the agent in australia and they agreed after the CEO read my concerns. But alas, all results have gone to GenTest and she received a whole heap last Friday morning and they are still dribbling out to the owners now.
  7. Regarding Hilaryo's litter of beagles, Sara doesn't think the two dead ones would have shown up on the xray, just from how they were formed. It was at this stage we both got a little concerned about how many more there actually were as she was still quite large! It was an amazing experience and I hope her sister that I've got can whelp a litter like her! Just, maybe a few less puppies would be great!
  8. Abby has some new half brothers (same dam) and I've been helping show one of the two boys from the litter. It's great fun having a baby to show again! A little different to my well trained girl who just stands.. but fun to get the puppy kisses none the less. Making me very puppy clucky though!
  9. Has the catalogue been released yet?
  10. Can I suggest, as a recent newbie too... Maybe just taking your to that show if she's 12 weeks to get used to the noises, people and happenings at a show. Then when you do go to take her for her first show, she will have had some exposure to the noises, and other dogs around. Just a thought!! Good luck with your new girl. It is very scary in the beginning, but the nerves do subside. I've been showin my girl for 2 years now and it's only been recently that I don't get so nervous. Good luck!
  11. Are you doing Sydney Royal Trish? I looked at flights, but it's a bit expensive to go down for one night, plus accommodation, plus car hire... doh.
  12. Damn, pity it's a bit too far to drive
  13. I can't wait to see them on Thursday and take some photos of them. He sounds like he has a lot of confidence!
  14. Unless my cache hasn't updated your avatar picture, it's actually of Lotti isn't it Hilary? Then yes, Liz, they are related! Lotti is from Macey's 2nd litter and this boy is from her 3rd litter. Hilary needs to put her glasses on!!
  15. Good luck for the rest Trish! I hope everything goes smoothly.
  16. Yeah see, I didn't know that! haha. I just put all the first letters of our name on a screen and made a word that sounded good. Once I googled it after it was denied, I realised it was a big company. Doh!
  17. And Abby! Abby aged 4 weeks Abby aged 4 months Abby aged 12 months Abby 8 weeks Abby 18 months Abby 2 years
  18. Beagle overload! Sally at 6 weeks Sally now aged 5 Leia at 6 weeks Leia now aged 5 Sally and Leia together aged 6 months Aged 3
  19. Our first choice Alesi we couldn't have because there is a ralesi apparently. So murmar might be a part of another name starting with anything. I understand why, but it sucks because I liked Alesi! haha
  20. I guess to get the puppy it's either putting them on a plane, or driivng over and them spending a lot longer cooped up in a car. I know which I'd rather. To be honest, if puppies are exposed to flying as pups, they tend to deal with it better when they get older. She'll be fine. Flight or not, it's a huge adjustment for a puppy going to a new home. They don't have their familiary surroundings, siblings and mum. So even if driving 20 minutes up the road, pups can be unsettled for days. We got our two puppies from someone 40 minutes away and it took a good week for them to start eating properly. Good luck!
  21. I went to see cinds last night and give her a hug. She's a beautiful girl that still shows affection when she's exhausted. We pulled more ticks off her. Horrible nasty things. Even more pulled off this morning I'm told. Poor cinds She'll be fine after lots of cuddles.
  22. I was crying on the phone to Hilary this morning. So happy the silly cinds in home. Lucky her nose worked and she could get home. I'm glad she's been to the vet and checked out. I'd love to come out and give her a cuddle. Sara updated facebook saying they'd taken her to the vet because they were worried she couldn't move. But it's just a combination of sore pads and exhaustion. This is her nose: Good news about Cinds, but devastating news for Sway
  23. Hilary will be up early, they've also got a litter of 3 day old beagles up there. Just sms Hilary when you get up and see if she would like any help. Unfortunately I can't get back up there tomorrow, that's why we went this afternoon. Silly Cinds Come home sweet girl.
  24. I think Sara's called them both Friday and today. All pounds, vets and animals shelters have been contacted. Everywhere we drove this afternoon, Hilary had put a flyer. I think they are going to try and walk Taylors Road tomorrow. I suggested getting out there at dawn and starting before it really heats up. I think she'll only respond to people she knows. Unfortunately she ran away from the people who saw her and tried to give her some water. That's why I suggested taking a crate down there, with some food, water and her clothes or a blanket and leaving it around the area.
  25. There was a sighting of her yesterday about lunch time, by a mother and daughter on Taylors Road (which is actually a dirt track). They said she looked exhausted and frantic. They tried to offer her water, but she wouldn't come to them and ran off. They thought they saw her later in the night and turned around, but there was nothing. Andrew and I went up there tonight around dusk to call out to her all the way along this dirt track, on roads around there. But unfortunately nothing. We really feel time is running out as Riley had a big tick of him that was taken off yesterday afternoon. We are all concerned that she might also have ticks and time is running out to find her alive if this is the case. If it wasn't summer in the peak of a HUGE tick season up here, there would be a lot more hope. Everyone is going out again tomorrow to look. Bianca, if you can help, that would be fantastic. Call Hilary on the number she posted before. Riley is on watch for any affects from the tick, so unfortunately he won't be going back into the bush. We had our girls with us this afternoon, but it was too dark to even bother trying to go into the bush. We had them bark a few times, around the area she was seen. But nothing I advised Sara and Hilary to take a crate down to where she was seen, put some of her bedding into it, cover it with a blanket, put some food and water in there and hope she curls up asleep in there to recover.
