  1. It's usually on on Thursday Nights emilyellis. I haven't been in ages, I assume it's still on. Starts at 6:30pm.
  2. Is the list above the judging order as well? Just wondering when the beagles were being judged today.
  3. Yep! All those things go through your mind. I always stand there and make sure I see their crates go out and up the luggage ramp. That's why I have a bright pink and white crate and a yellow and red, so they stand out. I'll be fine once they are off and I have them out of the crates. It all starts again on the way home though! Thank you. Good luck with your trip to Aus! I would be worried too, that's a lot longer trip than my babies.
  4. I wonder if I can find anywhere that has it tonight or tomorrow. Do places like petstock or petbarn have it?
  5. Does DAP work if you use it as a one off? I thought it was something you had to use over a period of time?
  6. Unfortunately it's too far for us to drive to Melbourne I'd be ok if I knew while the plane was just cruising that they were sleeping with the gentle hum of the engine. My girl has never had a bad flight, but she shakes and pants in the terminal. She's always fine on the other end. My boy has only flown once and was alright on the way done, but on the way back he saw my girl and was panting when we got him out at the other end. But both are fine once out of the crate.
  7. As above, my cousin made the ones in the pictures. I basically gave her the measurements I needed and she made it. I bought the material and fringing and gave it to her. We had it embroidered by the company that was also doing the merchandise for the national. If you'd like her details, please let me know. She is in Brisbane. I looked everywhere for where they were made, but ended up asking my cousin who is a seamstress. She laughed at me, and then realised I was serious! Everyone thought they looked amazing at the national. Really topped off a great weekend :)
  8. Does anyone else get really nervous before flying with their dogs? This feeling has overcome me all week so far and I don't fly out until Saturday morning! I know once we get to Melbourne, I'll be ok. But it's all the "stressful" (in my mind!) things that happen before that, that churn my stomach. Getting to the airport on time, getting them lodged, making sure they get on the plane. It's the start of school holidays, so it might be busy. Hopefully not early morning. Then any slight turbulence, my stomach sinks. I always find that descending into Melbourne it's quite rough. This is my third year traveling to the Melb specialty. Does anyone else get like this? or am I alone. I hate it because I know my dogs feel it and I make it worse for them. As we are flying at 7:55am, alcohol is not an option.. it's not an option anyway as I'm allergic to it! The dogs are fine on the other end once they see us and get out of their crates.
  9. Hi Trina, I had some made for our recent beagle national in Queensland. My lovely cousin made it for me. Is this what you were after?
  10. That's interesting winpara, as I was going to ask the question - how many of the experiences above relate to a maiden bitch?
  11. Sucks having to wait another week+ to get an answer!
  12. I'm also one that will enter and decide later. I did that with our royal and was quite disappointed I couldn't make it, but had too much to do before our National. $50 down the drain! But with smaller shows, I will always enter and decide later. Gives you the option to at least show. Otherwise if you don't enter, you don't have the option. I only have one or two dogs that I enter though, so it's not a huge amount of money if I decide to stay at home.
  13. Our local butcher makes these chicken burger patties that stay together so well! I think they put something in them to bind them, but they are human patties. It's got chicken mince, cheese, chives and some garlic in it. My girl goes mental over these and lately cheerios. My boy is so picky with "Fresh" food. He will eat it.. in his time, but will gobble down dried liver or chicken in the ring. I'm still trying to find out what he goes mental for.
  14. Sorry to hear Angeline still hasn't been found. I did just see on the news that the RSPCA is offering a service for $300 to message all people around your area with details of the missing dog. Maybe you could look into this? I hope she comes back.
  15. Tammy - Gerry at Greencross is Greencross Redbank Plains/Moreton. I know I'll be doing one when the time comes. More so to confirm pregnancy than anything. Otherwise it will do my head in.
  16. I've just read all of the replies to this thread and thinking yes, oh god yes, YES!! One of my pet hates is people crowding the entrance to the ring who aren't in the breed currently being shown. Especially when they stand there and try to move you when you still have to go back into the ring!
  17. I agree espinay2. I've just gone through the same thing trying to find accommodation in Melbourne that allows dogs. My dogs are accustomed to sleeping inside and travelling away from home already stresses them a bit, so I don't like adding to that by not providing them with their "normal" sleeping arrangement. We all have different ways of dealing/treating our dogs when away and I totally understand espinay's requirements. A lovely beagle exhibitor has offered for me to stay with her, which is fantastic as my girl can sleep on the bed with me :) I did find one place in Moonee Ponds that would allow animals, but they upped the rate per night by $115 due to the time of year (royal time). I couldn't justify spending that much money, after purchasing flights and car hire! I hope you find somewhere, but I haven't been successful in trying for September this year Luckily a friend has stepped forward to help.
  18. Cute Shell!! I've been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to show this gorgeous young boy for a while. His name is Beagelee Thats The Spirit - "Andy". First weekend out and he picked up a Baby in Group! You kinda forget how naughty puppies are!
  19. It was very odd. I've never been to Sydney Royal before, but they also awarded Best Australian Breed in Show. Is that normal? Which went to the Border Collie who won group 1st in the working dog group.
  20. I'm such a sap, I get teary seeing the photos, and the videos. Just so happy for them. They honestly couldn't believe it and to be an owner/breeder/handler is just amazing.
  21. I know Rowan Kilmartin (Animal Options) gave me two prices for with and without sedation. They are at Ormeau.
  22. I am just so thrilled for Leanne and Christophe, and of course Gabby for winning Best in Show at the Sydney Royal. Wow! What an achievement for them and our breed :) I'll admit I cried. Just so happy for them.
  23. Wow, I thought you were joking when you said there was 100, like you were over estimating! Jesus.
