  1. Thanks for all the replies guys. I do not think I will be sleeping much as staying up to watch Rover and make sure he is ok , so will definitely be bugging you on FB.
  2. So I have Rover home. He is fast asleep with Riddick curled up against him (Riddick is very happy his brother is home ) Vet basically repeated what he told mum. Can any vet or vet nurses (or people who know) translate this for me? Its from the receipt from the vet. Lab - P.C.V. & Total Protein Lav - VetTest - Diag Hlth Prof 1.5 Betamox Injection SA 2.8 Cerenia Inj 10mg/ml and I have 15 Amoxil (moxylan) tablets (200mg), which are the antibiotics. I was told he had a small positive for pancreatitis, but its Most likely something he has eaten and had a severe reaction to. They gave him some stuff for anti nausea. He has been given an antibiotic injection for tonight and I'm to start him on the tablets tomorrow. If he starts throwing up again or basically is still lethargic and unwell tomorrow I'm to bring him back so they can check him over and do some more tests.
  3. Picking him up at 6. Vet said there was a small positive for pancreatitis, but he thinks its most likely something that he has eaten. So he's been given some anti nausea stuff, is on a course of antibiotics. No food for tonight, only small amounts of water. If he throws up and starts to tremor again, we're to bring him back straight away. I'll talk to the vet some more when I go and get him as this is all second hand information of mum.
  4. Vet says it could maybe be pancreatitis? They are keeping him at vet for now and doing blood work stuff.
  5. Thats what I thought. We both checked him over multiple times and could not find anything. I think he missed his tablets day before yesterday as mum forgot to give them to him. I know for sure he got them last night. What could be hurting him? I hope he is ok. I'm really glad he is off to the vets now. Mindy's tremors were due to pain from intestinal spasms, sort of like when you get food poisoning I assume. Her tremors were localised to the back legs at first as well. Sending healing vibes for Rover.... That sounds like it could be what is happening. Couldn't feel any kind of blockage, and he has been drinking and pooing normally. Just isn't hungry in the slightest, which is SOOOO off for Rover. He has the food drive of 5 labradors in one. Ate his dinner normally yesterday, did not eat anything strange (that I know of). He is incredibly stoic. Beyond normal. Had an almost dislocated tail once and did not even flinch at having it squeezed and pulled. I'm like you, I will just go to vet if something is beyond wrong. Mum is much more relaxed and "oh he will be fine, lets just wait and see"
  6. Definitely going mad sitting here. Cuddling Riddick who is a flower child and has no idea anything is wrong. She is right that me panicking isn't going to do him or anyone good. He should be at vet now with mum. She'll call me as soon as he is checked. I don't know what plants are toxic. He doesn't eat any of the plants here, but I don't know, there could be something down the back that I haven't seen. Does someone have link to common toxic plants that come out in summer. I will go look now (give myself something to do) We went to St Ives showground yesterday which can be prone to ticks, but I thought getting proban would stop that, even if he missed one day.

  8. Mum has taken him. Would not let me come as I am freaking out a little and she thinks it will upset him more. Do not think I was just sitting here while he gets sicker. I have been yelling at mum to take him NOW. While she says "its fine, hes probably just trembling cause his stomach is upset. More comfortable for him to be home bla bla" Me yelling (and getting all the stuff and saying I would take him if she did not) got her off her ass thankfully as she has now gone to vet. Much much better to be safe than sorry.
  9. We thought his tummy was just upset as he didn't want to eat this morning, but was fine yesterday (ate his dinner, begged for treats as per usual) but these tremors are wrong . Im really worried. edit to add he is walking fine, but he does not want to stand still, and is sitting in a weird position. Like he can't get comfortable. He doesn't want to lie on his mat, like he is hot, but doesn't feel like he has a temperature.
  10. he is very stoic. There is no poison in the garden that we have put there. And every neighbour has a few dogs so I don't think anyone would have thrown something over the fence. He hasn't eaten today at all. Had small piece of apple which he threw up. Mum is checking him now. We where at the vet earlier today as he had his check up for delta pet therapy today and he seemed fine. Has gone downhill in past 20 minutes or so.
  11. Vet appointment in half an hour. Seems like he is ok if you just leave him, but if you try and rest your hand on him, he starts shaking uncontrollably untill he has to move away from you hand. Is restless and won't stay still. Gonna check him again for ticks.
  12. Does anyone know what could be wrong with rover? He wouldn't eat this morning. Has been throwing up today. Now his back legs and bottom of his spine area are trembling uncontrollably when he tries to move around. Seems to be getting worse. He gets proban to kill ticks and fleas, but we checked him all over anyway for a tick and couldn't find one. I know he is not feeling at all well as he refused a liver treat and did not want to eat his breakfast. Mums on the phone to vet now. Really worried.
  13. that just makes me sooooooooooooo sad somewhere some time ago a little boy went down the wrong path and turned into this man how many teachers and parents see these kids grow up to be these adults ? I had a kid (about 8?) tell me today, as I body blocked his overweight off leash entire lab away from my on lead dogs. "Oh don't worry, my dogs been in loads of fights, but dogs never fight with their own breeds." Wonder who he is copying there. ehhhh? I;ve already posted this in another thread but i've had someone do this to me: I actually had a person ask me if i could get my dog could bite his PUPPY so it could learn some manners I have a 6 month old Labrador puppy... not gonna happen... I tried to remain calm and explain why letting your dog get attacked by another, would NOT teach it manners, instead wokring on things like basic obedience and recall would be much more useful. Kids learn from their elders. SO I wonder which adult this child is emulating with his "My dog fights lots" speech.
  14. God he looks so Snuggley! I want to just climb in there with him!

  16. I don't. There are tricks, then there are basic manners every dog should know. Like, Not to pull on lead, jump on strangers, toilet training, no mouthing and quite a bit more. Same way a kid is taught to be polite and eat with the knife and fork in the correct hand.
  17. The dog park near my house has a sports oval literally right next door, yet people insist on bringing their kids and soccer balls inside the fully fenced dog park to play. Why would you do this, for one thing there are dogs everywhere! Bound to be out of control dogs that will chase, puncture and steal the toys. Also there is a hygiene issue, dog poo and wee everywhere. If we as dog owners are supposed to control our dogs, then shouldn't those without dogs be able to respect us in turn?

  19. Good thing it wasn't a GSD I know who would likely bite a stranger if they grabbed his collar. Don't worry, friend and I said the same thing. Woman was exceptionally lucky that this GSD just looked at her like she was the biggest moron in the world rather then try and defend himself. The dog looked quite disgusted actually Poor GSD. How offensive having some idiot grab your collar! Good thing you didn't hurt yourself or your coming baby having to move like that! Sounds ace mate maybe we can arrange a breeding to my Ch. 21. Oh Oh. I have a second entry, that I just remembered. Out with my boys, and a golden retriever comes sprinting over and throws himself onto Riddick to try and start humping him. The owner yells as she casually strolls nearer. "Don't worry, he's desexed!" my reply, "It doesn't matter if he's desexed you idiot, RIDDICK IS A BOY!" whilst scruffing the golden and wrenching him away from Riddick She was very offended that I pulled her dog off.
