Finally Received Email From Natura, Usa
InspectorRex replied to InspectorRex's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Well maybe all of you should email Natura as I Did and voice your concerns over who has importation rights here in Oz and they may just let other suppliers access to their products. Lobbying is the best way change can happen. -
Pet Insurance Australia - Anyone Have It?
InspectorRex replied to chichihuahua's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
All of the Pet Health Insurance Companies that I researched have a clause about bilateral conditions and believe me I researched every Company in depth. Yes they may not cover Tiggy's furkid if it did another ACL but would still cover all other conditions. -

Yes I like the size of the California Natural kibble too as having Collies it is big enough for them to crunch and chew .Too many of the kibbles out there are way too small for bigger breeds. Yes and I do know that Natura DO NOT support the sale of pups/kittens in pet shops. It was just pure luck that PP won the Import licence for Natura products. I have no qualms buying it from Pet Goods Direct and the Collies love it too -

Tiggy , enquire with Petplan .The ACL would be a pre-existing condition so they would not cover that but you would be covered for all other things. -
Feed- California Natural Dry Chicken and Rice( bought from pet Goods direct) Two dogs- about 2 cups a day Small bag( I think 2.5kg from memory) about $27 lasts about 10 days. Only buy 1 bag at a time

Even on a Pension I can find $100 if my furkids need Vet treatment( most people will always have a friend etc who would loan them the money if they didn't have it there and then ) as I would eat 2min noodles to ensure they got the best of Vet treatment they need -
Going on from the Tent Vs Gazebo topic I was wondering if anyone had an Umbrella Tents (with no rips in it) that they no longer use and may wish to sell You cannot buy them from any of the Petvans etc anymore and as I might enter the odd show/trial or two it would be much easier for me to erect if I am on my own Pm's most welcome I can p/u from KCC Park( live 4kms from there)Victoria

We have Petplan. It costs $70 per month for two dogs and covers up to $14,000 per year per dog in Vet bills and only $100 excess on a claim. As with all Insurance you have to notify of pre-existing conditions . Have sent you a PM

Collect a poop sample and take it and your dog to the Vet and request a faecal analysis and faecal float to be done asap. Your pup is only young and they can dehydrate very quickly so I was also have him on electrolytes and humn grade probiotic capsules( break oopen the capsule and sprinkle it on the chicken and rice) but please get him seen by a Vet.

Ivermectin Sensitivity & Desexing
InspectorRex replied to Dame Aussie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I would be waiting for the Results of the DNA test prior to the desexing because if your dog is Affected or Carrier for the mutant MDR1 gene there are commonly used drugs that MUST NOT be given to the dog; eg most vets use ACP for sedative and morphine for pain relief. If the dog is Affected or Carrier it MUST NOT have these drugs Because I have had our Collies DNA Tested and they both are AFFECTED if they have to go to the Vet I take a copy of the DO NOT GIVE DRUGS to me to the Vet so at least they know what I mean. It can mean the difference between life and death if a Affected or Carrier is given a drug that they MUST NOT be given. -
A family friend is now the Manager of Pet Goods Direct in Cranbourne and her family have owned and shown dogs for over 30 years. She has never tried to sell me "out of date" stock and never would. Chocolate- I will try and find out for you tomorrow as I have to drop off some stuff at the store and I will ask then for you
