Why Don't People Pick Up After Their Dogs At Shows?
Bilbo Baggins replied to TessnSean's topic in General Dog Discussion
in just over 18 months of showing have never seen anyone not pick up after their dog. this is in SA though. You must have been lucky because I can honestly say every time I have been to SACA Dog Park which is an annual thing for us, the grounds do have deposits of poo around, especially in the paddock / open space near your herding rings. It happens every where, even here at KCC in the off lead exercise area, like what is the go with people not picking up there? There is no excuse........... bags and bin are provided. Still IMO there is no excuse for failing to pick it up. Bring on a suspension / fine system, I am sure people would pick up if they knew they could be suspended / fined for NOT doing the right thing. Oh and the subject of dogs peeing on rims and or cars..........I am one who now has damaged alloy rims (bloody expensive ones at that!) and paintwork that is peeling on my car which is solely caused from people allowing their dogs to pee on my car!!! Not happy Jan!!!!! It does smell and get into your car! If one of my dogs even thinks about lifting his leg on somebody's property he is swiftly corrected before it happens, I cannot stand it happening to me so will not allow one of mine to do it to others. I like you Stolzseinrotts have seen it at all shows. At KCC you see people in the offlead call the dogs when they have dumped and walk out no intention of picking up. ;) Last year at Cohuna we had a fantastic venue, lovely green grass. Laurie and Kath where frequently announcing please pick up after your dogs or we will not have the venue next year. -
Well done Ziva. On time too.

Report Recommends Tighter Dog Breeding Regulations
Bilbo Baggins replied to Steve's topic in In The News
If "we" refers to breeders, we already do. I know the major diseases my breeds are liable to acquire, and how (when known). I have personally to research into some of these, as opposed to the mandatory donation which my CC takes from puppy registrations. I also have a litte black book with noted hereditary problems in lines in my breeds, which I add to when necessary. I think all responsible breeders do the same thing. What bothers me is the spin off coming from this. Very similar to what happened prior to BSL and anti docking laws (as well as some other draconian laws overseas). It also bothers me that the report couldn't get the name of the breed right - or maybe they did mean King Charles Spaniels, which despite having a domed head, also suffer from SM I don't think most breeders will want to be told by "someone" that that cannot use this line, it is too close, or they cannot use that dog, or that the pups must be microchipped at birth, or the bitch checked by the vet every time pre mating, or checked post whelping (which is already law in Vic). Bet Hargreaves - absolutely no idea. I picked up on that too Jed. Other breeds also get SM. No mention of them. -
How sickening. Those poor dogs and the devasted owners. ;) Ritulistic Bu*)*)*^** sadistic more like it.

I don't want to think how much money I spent on trying to find something Ziva liked ;) Eventually I found that she liked PRIME beef mince (it comes ina roll like the dogroll, basically fresh ground beef). She really liked that So much food was 'wasted' on her LOL though the other dogs didn't mind getting her leftovers My sister discovered Prime made in our old home town. Got some to try and its fantastic not greasy and they love it. Very similiar to the Ecopet roll apparently. We got some samples from the Geelong Royal - they make 2 types, the fresh/raw beef mince and a beef & veggie cooked roll- our guys like both but for the past week Ziva has only been eating the mince with her kibble (maybe she likes the fresh blood?? LOL). Did they have a stand at the Geelong Royal??? Have not seen the raw one only the cooked. They did, it wasn't that well signed but it was near the chicken coop that was being raffled (behind the group 2/6 ring ) I will show you what it looks like whenn you come over (if it ever happens ), it doesn't have preservatives like the 'fresh' pet meat does and it freezes well I just went to their website and saw the product. Great that it freezes can have a store in the fridge.

Like the idea... always worried bitch will keep chewing at cord. I cut & tie it but they always seem to get tie off fairly quick. Don't the mums try to pull tape off ?? We tie with dental floss as well. Forgat that. No mums seem not to both once its covered.

Another thing is particulry a first time mother they can much the pups head/bottoms off. So I watch for this as well. ETA. I also put a cotton ball over the cord and wrap micropore around as we nearly lost pup because Mum chewed the cord down to the abdomen. BBJ and Kadbury had to rush off to Lort Smith to have a suture put in. I remove the micropore the next day cord are dry by then.

I do mine (cavs) at 7 weeks with immos. It goes into my name as it has to be signed. When I get the papers back I fill out the change of owership putting me as a third contact. Send to new owner with a cheque to send to CAR. When cheque cashed I know its changed.

Exactly the same too precious to allow Mum to dither. I watched a Youtube of pups being born in America looked like pitbulls, the humans did nothing nor did the mum and pus flat as biscuits. stopped watching did not want to know what happened.

Ziva is keeping us all in suspense. :) :D :p
