  1. Ava had her x ray done tonight, could clearly count 8 puppies ...not sure what happened to the 9th little bugger
  2. I just had to provide challenge certs for ones that were shows interstate, did not have to provide any certificates for ones within my own state :)
  3. go down to bunnings and buy compost fencing, much cheaper, put together with cable ties...I use it for my puppy pens/whelping area Its about $29 for 4 panels...you would probably need two sets of 4 or maybe 3 sets, which would be about $90
  4. Ava's are just the best Pomz goodluck with your Ava :)
  5. Ava doesn't look big to me for a dog expecting 9...but she still has a week to go at least....and I am all new to this! Lol
  6. Yep Kads, this is little Ava's 2nd litter :)
  7. A close up of the whelping box, with Ava last week..
  8. The whelping box and puppy pen set up. My brother made me a brand new whelping box (1.5m x 1.2m) . I have floor boards, so have gone and brought 3mx3m of lino, and also 2mx2m of marine carpet for added protection, also laying vet bed and a bit of fake grass down, so puppies get used to different surfaces. They have over half the family room penned off so lots of room to run and play...also set up in the main room of the house, note the TV, so I can watch TV of a night and also watch them play and grow :)
  9. Ava - Almost 8 weeks in whelp :)Just got my delivery of vet bed, purple, pink and grey...lots of vet bed...she thinks its lovely
  10. I was the same, she is , she isn't, she is....well now is definate that she is. Leopuppy - Interesting question, prior to mating any bitches, the general rule of stud dog owners is that the bitches are swabbed prior to mating. I also read while researching that males should also be tested as they can also carry bacteria which can throw out the balance of the female which can cause them not to fall, or to abort...not sure how much truth there is to it, but it's interesting :)
  11. To each their own, I certainly wouldn't chip my puppies at that age :) My vet has already said he is happy to provide me with a letter, so that suits me :)
  12. Its easier to just get your vet to do a letter saying they wont chip them until 6 weeks of age...saves having to give chips out etc..
  13. I had Ava ultrasound on Day 21, vet could barely see 2 Took her back a week later and he counter 9 Fingers crossed for you Piper :)
  14. sorry to hear Flatchat, how disappointing for you....will keep my fingers crossed for you for next year
  15. I agree, drive the bitch the 2.5 hours to Sydney and fly with her :) AAE fly dogs out of Sydney on weekend as long as they reach their destination by 3pm :)
  16. I dont see any issues with back to back breedings, although breeding every season is a bit excessive in my opinion and goes against the rules anyway. It again depends on how close their season are too.
  17. Where is your store you go to Flatchat?
  18. Why is it that the toys are shown in doors though in the first place? What makes them different??
  19. Thanks Sag's that's very kind of you :)
  20. Advance site says order from your Stockists, so it shouldn't be hard if that's the case, just interesting the almost $40 price diff from here to NSW
  21. I love watching the Springers :) and have to admit can't go passed a nice moving afghan :) Apart from my own breed of course (but not all of them  )
  22. My Bitch is 5.5 weeks in whelp and starting to get on the larger side (expecting at least 9 puppies) She has been very very itchy all over and especially on her back and sides to the point where she has chewed in one spot and caused slight rupturing on the skin (not broken but sort of close too) Is it fair to assume she may be itchy because her skin is stretching expecting a larger litter? She does not suffer from allergies, does not have fleas, vet originally thought a possible skin infection and to be safe she is on antibiotics. She had also been bathed in Malaseb (Wednesday night) I really want to help her stop itching it must be so annoying for her Any ideas? Her previous litter she was only expecting 4 pups so wasn't large, now she is expecting quite a few more she is getting quite a lot bigger
  23. Yes I will have to so that next week I think Liz :) I did go on there website before I left work, but couldn't find a list of Stockists in my rush, it's just said Advance Stockists can order it.. It doesn't help when I went to petstock and asked and their reply was "we can order it but we find it hard to get it"...hmmm
  24. I am not talking about the 15kg bags with 20% free making them 18kg bags
