  1. Yep it was just WAAAAY to much to text and after a few drinks (thanks Jacky) texting was a challenge! ETA: Yep door is fixed! Just not the lights yet.
  2. Oh and I forgot to say Congratulayions to Carol with her gorgeous Aspen who beat us for baby in show on the saturday!! It was Aspens first show! Aspen is absolutely to die for!! And went fantastic considering she was lead trained 2.5 hrs before going into the ring for the first time!
  3. Well finally got my own car back on the road, well my parents brought me a cheap second hand car a commodore sedan. My stepdad reckoned it was such a bargain and a great car. Well not so much! I left 3 hours later than I had planned, I left my purse at home . We get half way there (2 hours into a 4 hour trip) and we stop to go to ther toilet and get a drink (we being myself and my 6 yr old) and the door latchy thing that holds the door closed jams once I have opened the door So now my door wont close! An hour and a half later 3 guys that had been watching me the whole time FINALLY come over and offered to help. So they actually locked me in the car, I was ment to stop to get stuff but wasnt game enough incase the door wouldnt shut again. Its a good thing I didnt because once I got there and opened the door it wouldnt shut again , although this time it wasnt because the latch was in the locked position it was in the unlatch position so the door would swing open. Also whilst still getting there it was getting dark so I turned on the lights and my lights wouldnt stay on low beam unless you held onto the indicator arm thingy. So after all the drama of getting there, we finally got there and struggled to set up camp in the semi dark (we had some light from a friends van that we set up right next too. It may have also been a struggle because of the vodka and coke that friend kept giving me But after all that show day arrived and my boy Kaos got baby in group! Under Mr Ben Luxton a Basenji Specialist! But what was really exciting was that there was 8 Basenji's there!!! At Durack there is usually just my 2. But even more exciting again was that we had the 4 colours of Bassenjis there!! Red & White Black & White Tri Brindle But it was a fun weekend to be had by all (I hope) So I will say thank you to Havahug for doing what you done cause I never could have! And thanks for a great to: Teamsnag Miss B Kimyata (I hope I spelt that right) Havahug Cass_o6 Carol Robyn Jacky Brian And any one else that I have missed. Oh and to get home I had my door zip tied shut! :D
  4. I recently flew 2 basenji's to Brisbane one came from Sydnet and the other from Hobart and I got quotes from Dogtainers, Jetpets, Animal transport and Doler Wayrod. The cheapest by far was Jetpets and the service was fantastic.
  5. Well it wouldnt happen to me because I'd never be downright dumb enough to take a sick dog into the ring. Either way it's done and dusted. Take it up with DogsNSW if you have a problem...which you obviously do so sort your grievance out with them.
  6. I am still excited and it wasnt even my baby!! Jen i have had a strict talking to Kaos and told him that he needs to pull his socks up as he cant have his brother out doing him and he now has 2 (?) baby in groups!
  7. Only just realised that entries closed when they did. I will be sending my basenji entries off tomorrow (sunday) :D So you should recieve them by tuesday. If you need numbers for the open show I will enter although not sure if i will get there in time as I cant leave Ipswich until 11am as daughter has sports till then.
  8. At the end of the day it simply comes down to the idiot owner should NOT of had Swanee at that show because he was sick. One thing I am curious about is: As the 6 months suspenssion is over as of 2 months ago has Swanee since passed the temperament test and is he back in the ring? And I think Glenn smith is damned lucky he didnt have his arse nailed to the wall for showing a sick dog because DogsNSW (??) Could have very easily done that too!!
  9. A huge congrats goes to the Rajacadoo clan on there baby in group win today at the Hobart Royal!! Java is from there first home bred litter of Basenji's. Congrats to the Rajacadoo's!!
  10. Hound Group: Baby in group was a DOLer and a Tassie local, but I'll let her tell her news! All I will say is WOO HOO!!
  11. No way do I want to be counted if it is standing up for Glen Smith! His dog mouthed a judge not on!! But even more despicable is that he Glen smith knew that Swanee was ill but still took him to the show regardless Ah yes, here's the appeal for us to all circle our wagons because "we" must all stand together. Sorry but one dog got suspended here and very appropriately IMO. I'll stand up and be counted as one who supports the right of judges to detemine when a dog has behaved aggressively toward them and to excuse them from the ring. I dont' stand shoulder to shoulder with exhibitors who, in my opinion, have done the wrong thing. That dog should never have been in the ring. It may well have put other exhibitors dogs at risk. If it had been pulled it would never have been suspended. Perhaps you missed my post where I recommended that CC reps read the judgement so that they wouldn't make the mistakes the Club made on the day. The point of the court case is crystal clear. The appeal on procedural matters FAILED. The facts are that a dog that had been unwell for some days, that resisted handling and THEN mouthed the judge was suspended. I don't see how procedural errors by the club influence the facts or the outcome in any way. Clearly the magistrate also held that view. Breed has NOTHING to do with this so you can put that card away. I fail to see how this is in any way amounts to a travesty of justice. I'll ask again. Exactly what part of this dog mouthing the judge do you find acceptable? Do you think dogs with severe diahorrea should be in the show ring? FYI I know of one incident of quite severe unprovoked aggression that was tossed out by DogsNSW because the club had not followed procedure. So it can happen. Poodlefan
  12. Yep and those people who have shown dogs that are sick need there bums kicked for it! Just like Swanee's idiot owner!! I dont live in a glass house but I am a "die hard" show person I love showing and have done so since I was 5 yrs old. BUT even I have gotten to a triplw show almost 4 hours away, it has been stinking hot. The first day of shows the afghan I had wasnt enjoying the show because of the heat so back in the car air con blasting and I drove home! My dog wasnt even sick but because he could have become sick because of the heat i took him home. Yes I'm wondering the same thing!! Damn - Santa was here and I missed him. Hmmm Santa was quick to delete ......... me thinks Santa said something not very christmassy and realised he was posting as Santa ;) Bad Santa The question that I have is: Why didnt Glenn Smith take Swanee home when he was sick?? Or even better why didnt he simply stay home and miss that weekend of showing?? After all if he had of done that theres a good chance that swanee would have missed just that weekend of showing, so 3 shows instead of 30 odd shows.
  13. I just had an "Ahhhhhh now I know" moment!! I just put 2 and 2 together and figure out who you are Chocolate!!! I'm wishing now that I had of went.
  14. I'm not sure that it a "rule" as such, but I do think that it will confuse puppy. Also why would you want to put yourself between the dog and the judge? Then the judge cant see the dog. Is there anyone that can show puppy this weekend? you still get your outing, less chance of you getting hurt but judge also gets to actually see puppy.
  15. Dennis and chris are lovely and will help you out! It will be good to have someone else out there with a minority breed! I have basenji's and its usually only my 2 at shows! I get very excited when theres competition!! I am looking at getting a grey for my daughter hopefully next year or the year after, just have to get a trailer first!
  16. Bastards!!! RIP Tonto! If you read the news reports its not just Alma Park Zoo thats getting hit!
  17. Almost makes me wish I had a celtic breed!!
  18. We are just dull in QLD and never get our numbers sent to us  I love it when I enter NSW shows and get my numbers and all the little list that says how many dogs are in each group!!!
  19. My pups will get there titles with mostly no competition. And that is simply cause there is no competition, and that isnt because I live in a rural area, I live in suburbia and often go to the main show grounds. So far the only time I have had competition is when I have travelled away and we beat them for 2 out of 3 shows any ways. So basically I will have the opposite of a petrol champion, I will need to travel to find competition!!
  20. Janelle will be at Durack on saturday afternoon! I was talking to her last night.
  21. My mum recently wanted to get a cattle dog, so I convinced her to go to a rescue, we got onto the Australian Working Dog rescue and mum sent a heap of emails off and left 3 messages for the woman, I also sent of 4 emails and left 2 messages. After a week she gave up, I did try the DOL pages with older dogs but there was nothing suitable in state and with the cost of buying the dog and then paying freight costs we could have brought a pup for that price (mum doesnt want a pup). She got so frustrated that she found a dog out of the paper ;) . Even now over a month later neither of us have heard back from the rescue.
  22. Erin, Janelle Manell sells them, she is usually at Durack wasnt sunday just gone as she had been up at nanango. She also has coloured ones.
  23. So who is doing Nanango this weekend? Friday and saturday?? Hopefully we dont get wet !!
  24. Hi Belinda Pm me your email address and I will email one I have, it doesnt work for every one though and I'm not sure why. Most I have sent it to have had no problems with it though.
