  1. Thanks everyone for you advise and Pm's. I have spoken to the instructor I had last night and voiced my problems and will be doing the same with management today. It was one instructor that told me they had given up on my dog becuase they belive it is genetic and there is nothing to be done about it. I am not happy with this. I am not after a "cure" but a solution that will make her more managable. I will be tring to work this out with ADT as I pay a lot of money when I joined believing that they would be able to help me out. Thanks heaps everyone you have given me a great list of people to try and I can not thank you all enough for your help!!! I really need it. I am not about to give up on my little girl!!!!!
  2. Hi Everyone, I was just wondering if there was any GOOD dog behaviorists in the Werribee VIC area. The problem is my 2 year old border collie. She is very fear aggressive, to the point where I avoid situations where I would be near other dogs. I have tried obedience, which didn't work. She was too busy barking and snapping at the dogs on the other side of her. She has been at ADT for almost 2 years now and while she has got a little better she has not improved to anywhere near where I would like her. She will still snap when other dogs come too close and will go nuts if a dog stares at her. I was making a break though at ADT when we first started, as she was a "project dog" of one of the NDTF students but when the student left I was left on my own. I think everyone is scared of her. She is not a mean dog just fearful, you can see it in her eyes. I have now been told by ADT that they have given up on her which really p*#@ed me off. I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone good in the Werribee area and their contact details and maybe even a price guide if possible. Thanks
  3. Don't worry about bumming out guys. My mum was at the werribee trial also. She got a pass, 1st in her ring and highest scoring Werribee member is CCD. In the afternoon she totally bummed out and got a NQ on the recall. I think everyone, dogs and people were feeling the heat there on Saturday. Good luck to all at their next trial!!!!!
  4. Thanks for the info guys, my parents train their 4 babies down at werribee so mum is going to sorce it out for me. Hopefully will find something soon!!!!! Thanks all for your help!!!!
  5. Thanks Erny, Have PM'ed Kelpie-i so just waiting for a reply. We are in Werribee so diggers rest is a lot closer than the school we were attending (in Elmore) Any ideas would be great thanks everyone
  6. Hi Everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good herding school in Vic that trained on a regular basis. I have contacted a few but have not got a reply back from eaither of them. Any information would be great, my girls have started herding but our herding school has closed down for the summer months while they change over sheep and as it is in northern vic it gets to hot to train. If anyone knows of anything closer to Melbourne your information would be of great help Thanks
  7. ADT also has the benifit of being able to train of a night during the week too. Also with ADT you can attend as many centres as you like per week, it is really up to you. And anther great thing I have found it that the dog joins not the person. So if you are sick or something the OH can take the dog or you can change back and forward as to who takes the dogs. As someone that has been there for a couple of years and been to a few differant obidence clubs (VCA and not) I just find ADT to be soooo much help and they do socilisation which not a lot of clubs do. It is really a place to train you do to be a part of your life not just to walk to straight lines and do turns like a robot (Not saying this is not a great way to train, just not everyone is after this type of training) My dogs and I just love going to ADT!!!!
  8. I don't go there myself but know a lot of people that do go there. It is very recommened. Good luck for yourself, my dogs have no problems with agility, their main problem is getting their mum (me) to hurry up and run faster!!! Great workout though, no gym fees required.
  9. Sounds like great fun. I am hoping to attend the hearding workshop to be held in Elmore in Oct/ Nov ran by the Koolie Club!!! My two Koolie's just started hearding last weekend, doing the fortnightly training in Elmore ran though the Koolie Club and the way all the differant dogs work is amazing!!! Good luck this coming weekend
