  1. Oh NO!!!! I must not order any more isqueaks I must not order any more isqueaks I do not need any more isqueaks I wonder if there are any other coloured isqueaks
  2. When I consider the dog understands what i am asking - then i use em :D
  3. A different one - Ranford Vet in Canning Vale. When you book just explain that you have had titres done before and just need to have the vet nurse pull the blood. Batching days are Friday and Tuesday, so the blood needs to be at the clinic first thing to be included in the days batching. The Vet Clinic emailed me the results. My appointment was for 4.30 on a Thursday and they said it wouldn't make Fridays batching day and they gave me the option of dropping the blood off at Vetpath
  4. See previous response from me earlier in this thread. I too have a dog with a titre of 1<5 for distemper. There is no single only distemper vaccination and with a parvo of >80 there is no way I will do a C3. $246 for titres I have just rung the Vet Path labs regarding having blood pulled by a vet and sending directly to the lab from interstate. I need to speak to the practice manager - so will let you know what I find out.
  5. Cider is the youngest puppy I have done titres on and I am surprised by the results. A lot of us are now doing titres on our older dogs - when perhaps we should be doing them at a much earlier age.
  6. Yes there is a parvo only vaccine and Dogs with a titre of 1:20 or greater are considered protected and may not need revaccination. These dogs should have their titre rechecked in approximately one year. The vet practice charged me the lab costs only - a vet nurse took the blood as I didn't want a vet consult.
  7. I have a new puppy who was vaccinated at 6 1/2 weeks with a C5 :D At 11 1/2 weeks I had blood pulled for titres (Parvo and distemper) which cost me $66 - I was amazed at how cheap it was. The result came back as: Parvo 1:20 Distemper >80
  8. HUGE Congratulations TSD a tough environment to get a pass in - a second place is the icing on the cake. Good luck in your jumping trial
  9. Exactly - now they actually have a white marker on the ground ( Argh the old land mines - has anybody had a dog that refuses to sit or stand on them???? and no your dog doesn't have to - just some think they will self explode and refuse to go near them
  10. You don't really have to worry about it in WA. The only sudden death ones must be advertised as such and are usually only envoked when entries are excessively high. The upcoming Nationals there are 40 dogs entered in Open. They will be utilizing the second open judge leaving only 20 in each open class and this number doesn't constitute the use of the sudden death rule. I believe in NSW you fail an exercise and you must leave the ring (correct me if I am wrong). This doesn't happen here ;)
  11. In WA most of the COP are done between the figure 8 posts. But I know not all states actually use posts/polls for the figure 8.
  12. Talk about a successful weekend of trialling - well done to The Spotted Devil, Laffi, Tambaqui, Newfsie and Agility Dogs. Dare I ask did anybody get anything of the rounds on video??? Hey Rubystar great work with Millies scent and looking forward to seeing Ruby back in the ring
  13. You forgot to add some lovely heelwork + a UD round at the end of it all. I would like to put $50 on Alex for a win at the Nationals I might have more success getting my money back than I do at the Melbourne Cup.
  14. Yee har well done Leopuppy - 4 passes - I will drink to that :p Now we need to get you back into the obedience ring
  15. Woo Hoo on a terrific weekend Vickie. You must be super proud of your three girls, Shine, Trim and Chloe.
  16. Let's say a pup is vaccinated with the baby series of jabs, and a follow-up at one year, ending up with well primed memory cells. It is then not vaccinated for many years. If I understand the material I quoted correctly, one would expect TT to show a good response (many dilutions required) at one year. But at five years, the antibodies would probably be way down and TT would show poor immune response. The dog's memory cells, however, would be able to identify the virus and set off production of antibodies, thus conferring full immunity if the dog were exposed to the disease. I can provide some real data here: My bitch was last vaccinated at 12 months of age - she will be 9 in November and parvo and distemper titres are still both >80.
  17. Ness is back at the Royal tonight doing open. I don't think she had anybody video
  18. Having trialled at the Adelaide Royal last year - I have to say the conditions are pretty tough. Well done on scent and gloves as I know you have had more than you fair share of issues with both these exercises.
  19. I know of a male toller who mated and tied with a girl. We contacted the manufacturers who assured us that there was no way she would be pregnant. We ultrasounded at 28 weeks and sure enough they were right.
  20. Because Steve is vocal and doesn't believe in titre testing. It was the unqualified NO that gave it away
  21. not really so amazing you are one of the most travelled agility people I know. I've only left NSW once for agility & am sure I have met you at least 4-5 times over the years. Dare I ask if we will see you in WA next year????
  22. Thanks for the link. What was involved to qualify and is the final a one off run?? Best of luck with Trim
  23. Vickie - any chance of listing the dogs in the Dog of the Year finals????
  24. Can I take a stab in the dark and ask if it was Steve at Applecross Vets that you asked?????
  25. Thanks for the update and well done - you have done the hard bit by entering your first trial. Very interesting that she performed better in the afternoon trial. Do you think the mornings run of zeros had anything to do with you being nervous? Looking forward to hearing how you get on at the double header - Best of Luck
