Woo Hoo well done Beth and Lottie - only 2 more to go How's Lottie's leg?
-
RV that's great as the Royal is such a tough environment, so any focus at all and you are on a winner
-
So Close Xena98. I too am having seekback issues, the pickup in PIM, the sendaway now means sit outside the cones to the left, and heel - hmmm he has no idea. Back to the drawing board......
-
Go the oldies.......well done Tassie and Kira

Milk Thistle and SAMe I guess I would look at it ....that it can't hurt either...... Hugs to you xx
-
JulesP - I am sorry to hear this - you have had more than your fair share of unwell doggies this year. Having had a dog myself with liver failure, did anybody suggest you try Milk Thistle? The specialist also put us on bio-organics SAMe Forte (but this is fairly expensive - 20 tables $40). You get both over the counter at a chemist.

Tollers are showing tomorrow at the Royal - but don't think there are any entered Also group judging for the gun dog group and then BIS lineup Rubystar will chat next week about checking out Millie with the other kids (I usually only take 2 with me) and also possible country trips. As for retrieving - pfffff, I would love to but still have my dead bird phobia and I think the tollermobeel might get bogged.
-
Rubystar if ever you want to go to Geraldton or Albany for a trial and want to share a ride and accommodation - let me know I am sure the kids could all travel together in the back of the tollermobeel

Some of the CCD rounds are a lot harder than others and I/we have found that a lot of the Queensland judges will give you every position in every pace, so effectively the CCD heelwork is as hard as the Open heelwork. This is STrauss's CCD round from Monday at the Royal. Very tough for a baby dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch\?v=CX9rVfl-ETQ

Ptolomy had very flat batteries last night Well talk about rooster one week, feather duster the next. I was happy with the kids - Moo was worried but tried hard and played between exercises ( this is something we have been working on). He had a few little hiccups in UDX, although the judge only saw the sitting just outside the cones. He dropped the leather article half way back to me and then went back to the pack and couldn't find it in UD and he did a good round in open finishing 3rd to Brookie and Maverick - but did lose 5 for the recall went he went around to heel on the present and stood (I need a shrug shoulder icon here). Cider well she has come a long way and although bothered by the environment she did hang in there and did some lovely heelwork. She came undone by taking the dumbbell back to my mum who was sitting in the crowd. Strauss - it was a long day for the little man - we arrived just after 7am and he finally got into the ring at 3, so I was extra happy with him. He lost 6 on the ring work - 4 for heelwork and 2 for bouncing off me in the recall, and then dropped half way through the sit stay. All the kids had a go at Rally O - I have to say it was the handler that had problems working out where the next sign was and what to do. Think I was getting much better by the third time in the ring.
-
Hey RV and Bedazzled - having not done rally before is it something I should avoid at the Royal tomorrow
-
Happy Birthday Beans and Chevy - 6 years old today. Jen has been through a lot and glad to say she is doing well In her spare time she's not a bad little obedience dog either
-
Makes for a long day when you are nonawarded. But goodonya for getting BOB with Fionni Be honest, how was it having the agility going on in the ring next door? Its the first year we have had this as usually we are tucked away in a corner at the far end of the show grounds. I will be there tomorrow with 4 kids for obedience.
-
LOL Wazzat - this was back in 2007 when I was trialling 2 dogs at the Royal Show. Tomorrow I am taking 4 I had to laugh reading this thread - Scoota had trouble finding his seekback - hmm not a lot has changed
-
Murve - lovely photos from the Royal. Bedazzled and I would love to do your Royal "one day" but it always clashes with ours and the AFL Grand Final which means there are no cheap airfares and no cheap accommodation. Bugger SLLH and Ness - there is always another trial.....
-
Tiggy I taught Cider to line up at 8 weeks of age by stepping into heel position when she was sitting and then rapidly rewarding. To begin with she had no idea why she was being rewarded, but it doesn't take them very long to work it out and because I was stepping into the right position, there was no chance of her getting it wrong.
-
Thanks for the heads up Bedazzled and well done on your agility results - it reminds me of a certain red dog last year. Which begs the question.....how much agility training do you do...
-
SLLH - its so nice to read what you have written - all the good bits first with just a brief mention of the oops and then looking forward to tomorrow - a very positive way to look at what happened
-
Well done Murve in very tough conditions. I have to say there is no need for a judge to go out of their way to make it hard for CCD dogs and at the Royal too Is this your title?
-
196 a very very nice score - you should be tickled pink A great way to finish your title - onto open you go....... and those horrid OOS sit stays
-
Candice - how's Gibbs tonight. I wonder if that's why he hasn't been interested in his roo bones CC - you must feel pretty useless being on the other side of the world, trying to sort out a forever home for your cat. Hugs to you

Good luck to everybody trialling over the weekend. I hope to hear lots of good news stories
