Agree - particularly the bolded bit. Totally agree! I hate the feeling I get at Royals, am paranoid someone will try and do something to my dog while my back is turned. Also sick of people thrusting their children at my dogs.

I always use Lenards at Aberfoyle Park SA I really hope theyre not the ones your friend used Poodlecrazy please PM me if it is!!!! Ihave always had fresh stuff from there and they sell me a box of 10kg of frames for $4 and a box of 12kg necks for $24 they are always lovely.

Try googling Aseptic Meningitis. It is a different disease to the 'usual' bacterial meningitis that a person would get. I know in some breeds including mine it can be seen in families of dogs, so they should let their breeder know. I am so sorry for your friend hope it all works out.

Green? Thats weird hey! Mine is white and I have used a couple of times, it is a bugger to dissolve in boiling water and I thought it smelt/looked/felt like Napisan ;)

Oh my god you poor thing!!!! Lucky she only had 1 :D (Ashanali has prob already told you all this but...) Keep your girl and the baby in a room seperate from other dogs where there are no drafts or cold air to chill the puppy. Maybe get her ahot water bottle for the baby to snuggle up to when mum is out to the toilet etc (pups cant regulate their own temperatures for 10 or so days) Your girl will need more food keep condition and make enough milk for the baby but not too much more as 1 baby wont tax her too much. The puppy will need to be wormed every 2 weeks from 2 weeks of age. Apart from that they are pretty self sufficient. Speak to the vet re when to vaccinate etc. Keep the baby warm and dry......cant think of anything else poor you and poor baby having a pup at 10 months but i bet she copes just fine.

How do people feel about repeat breedings? I have noticed that in my breed the second litter can be quite different to the first. i know each breeding is another whole set of genes and circumstances but 3 repeat breedings from different kennels I know of have produced. 1-1st: heavier typier dogs 2nd: finer dogs with lower HD scores 2-1st: 'normal' litter 2nd: higher tail carriages and lower HD scores 3-1st: typier dogs good longevity 2nd: finer dogs many died young. What does everyone else think? Is this just a random observation or does this happen in other breeds too??

I spoke with my other (good) vet Neil yesterday about the unfortunate situation with my lost babies and the on call vet. The on call vet told him he wanted me to come in and I was reluctant????!!!!! WTF I told Neil in no uncertain terms that was utter crap. Neil knows how important my dogs are to me and that this breeding was so important, he also agreed after hours guy should have ultra sounded to see if any viable pups and caesered to get them out if any heart beats. But short of go to the vet board what do i do?? It seems vets have no accountability. I have looked into a new vet and will be taking Stubbs to Harry in Hahndorf for his Vacc and Chipping.
