  1. I want one of those T shirts too!!!!!! Maybe someone can sell them to raise money for DOL pickets for the church!
  2. If you want to sterilise your girl perhaps wait for the next litter or see if the breeder can recommend another litter that you can have a puppy from. There is no shortage of Staffords Its entirely up to you.
  3. Noooooo Miss Sugs was the nothing...nothing...pyo and spay These babes are from the wee beasty I won BOB with at the Royal last year
  4. My sisters stafford ran into my 10 week old berner whilst doing the zoomies. He was a bit lame (got a corky I think ) I paniced and took him to the after hours Vet. The stupid man wiggled his leg around and told me he could hear crunching and my puppy was obviously dysplastic....................I was inconsolable...........until I went to my vet the next day who had a wiggle and said.....'there's nothing wrong with this dog' (he later scored 0:0 on hip scores) First vet is a dog breeder. Everytime i see him at a show I am so tempted to tell him he was SO WRONG. (I have also had a vet tell me he thought one of my dogs had kidney failure because her specific gravity was low normal.........big sigh....next test fine of course) Mostly my vets are stars but puppy people sure are extra ripe for the picking sometimes
  5. Finally I get to join a pregnancy thread My little mama was confirmed pregnant by U/S today, I am over the moon :D Especially sice my last 3 breeding resulted in ....nothing....nothing ...and pyo and spay!!!! So baby Bernese expected around 15th Feb. So excited.................
  6. Oh NO!!!!!!! That happened to a friend of mine last year....she didnt know her girl had been bred just thought she was fat...and at 7 weeks preg she won BISS she sent me the pics and I thought she looked way preg....she scanned her and ta da 7 puppies were born! (ps...really hope noone jumped the fence )
  7. When I asked for holidays as my girl was due to whelp .....my boss was most pissy. She actually said to me 'well what I want to know is why you need holidays because your dogs is having puppies' (imagine this in a horrified and grumpy tone ) I told her that if I was at work when she whelped I could lose my bitch and or the puppies and I would be off work for the rest of the year on stress leave. Most people at my work like to ask about the dogs but think I crazy at the time/money I spend with/on them
  8. I guess many of the dogs considered radiographically Dysplastic by OFA will not be symptomatic. I know in berners several who are considered dysplastic by radiograph / scores but not symptomatic (ie a 4:34 who is 10 years and minimal sign of any arthritis) so unfortunately its a crap shoot......
  9. I am so glad that Molly is ok, how horrible for all of you. Parvo is devastating Those poor poor babies that didnt make it
  10. I would just spay the bitch and give the deposit back....what can a court do? Make you put the uterus back in????? If you explain exactly why you dont want her bred from in writing and a 'reasonable' 'responsible' person should understand as would SACA/ a court. Hopefully she understands and will take her spayed and provide a nice forever home for your girl. Off Topic: I met a guy who works at the RSPCA who has 2 AMerican Bulldogs that were at the RSPCA they were apparently not put up for rehome due to the 'breed' so he took them home ....and bred them I was at his house and met the dogs who had lovely temperaments....but just shows you that surprisingly not everyone who works at RSPCA thinks like we might think they do (unfortunately) not sure why they were allowed to leave the RSPCA entire either....
  11. Sorry i just saw you are doing another prog! I hope it all works out. I bet your boy will register 'ding dong!!!!' once the time is right and get the job done
  12. She needs another progesterone test to make sure she has actually ovulated. Bitches are funny things ..... she may only be rising very slowly or have dropped back down again. How is her vulva looking? If it isnt quite large and squishy with less 'red' blood more yellowy/dilute she might not be ready. My advice is do another prog 4.7 doesnt mean much unless it has risen and the bitch has confirmed as ovulating. That would explain the 'playing' but no sexy times Good Luck!!!
  13. OOOOOH! Those shoes sound SUPER!!!! I bought some patent black crocodile shoes, I had to go to shows just to wear them
  14. Thats why I go to shows! dont forget the Buy yourself a new pair of shiny shoes then you will want to go to shows to wear them
  15. so was it that you want one to handle or to own Leanne Help handle if you need it..... not own!
  16. Scarlet has grown so much then, still my smiley girl You can't win BOB at the Royal and have babies too thats just being greedy Might have to take you up on that offer, you don't know what you are in for Leanne Leanne My mum and one of my sisters have staffords so I know what I am in for....mostly :p One if my sisters dogs tries to bounce off your head (when you are standing up!) so yours MUST be better behaved that that
  17. Ok pic of Storm (don't laugh at the bad stacking, she is not a show dog ;) ) Storm is due tomorrow from a bad slip mating or Monday just for comparison this is Scarlet who is due 5 Dec (nearly 7 weeks) think I am going to have my hands full very soon Leanne WOW I remember when Scarlett was just a wee baby girl. She was such a beeeeautiful puppy Im sure her babies will be gorgeous I cant wait to see them. Obviously the Staffords have stolen the Bernese of Australia's pregnancy Mojo this year (we all seem to have barren-ness while the staffords are a bulging with babies!!!) If you need help showing the babies I will have my hand up to help ;) ;)
  18. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww Koda looks very over it Poor little mama! At least it will all be over soon!
  19. Congratulations...I love them all!!!! I bet Lizzy is happy to have them out of her tummy!
  20. Congrats everyone on the new babies! Cant wait to see how many staffords come out of those big mamas!!!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the Novembers babies esp the Frenchies!
  21. My bitch had both her carotid arteries tied off to stem the blood flow to her nose. She was haemorrhaging and would have died if we didn't do it. her PCV (packed cells) dropped from 44 to 17 in 3 days, her gums were white I was so scared. That was in April this year and she has been fine (perfectly fine even! no blood or issues) since then. MRI showed erosion of septum and possible lesion at back of nose and x2 biopsies showed no cancer so we still dont know what it is. (she also had pyo 2 days after the surgery and had to be spayed) Apparently tying off one or both carotids is a fairly 'benign' procedure according to the specialist surgeon (of course that was not reflected in the bill ). I suggest if your girl isnt too frail and/or old you speak to your vet about tying off her carotids. My girl recovered really quickly and we are so happy to still have her. Let us know how you go L x
  22. Congrats everyone! Hope you get your black Sway! Maybe I will finally manage to get one of my girls in whelp by next November pfffft If I'm lucky
