The Strangest Cross Breed You Have Ever Seen?
KitKat replied to jackie_a1's topic in General Dog Discussion
GSD x Afghan - Head and body like a GSD, looooong legs, the Affie gate and feathering...lovely looking...but all wrong at the same time...lol -
I will say that the people offering hte cat food in Brissie are incredible quick get me a sample and it was a big sample! The Cats loved it...unfortunately their poos really reeked while on it, even if they'd only had a small amount of the kibble . I am still considering trialling the dogs on it yet.

I know how you feel...but don't think the 'rotti suit' will necessarily help the lil one! I have two GSD's - one reactive (sorta - only because he's a twit, not real aggression) and one not - you'd think 90kgs of fur would discourage people from letting their dogs start hassling mind? On or off lead? NOPE! I don't go to dog parks for this reason (plus the fleas they pick up) and we haven't been to a dog park in years. As it is we'll turn down another street, cross the road, get as far away as we can to let others through etc...but noooooo many will bring their dogs closer thinking it's funny that their dog/s are trying to nab the big bad GSD's :p

The best thing i found to use was Advantix - my GSD's are fluffy and a lot of the creams and strapsy either had to be put on several times a day or did yucky things to their ear fur. But the Advantix worked perfectly - just use as normal as if for fleas and it's all good

An Aussie

Just because there was someone on shift that night...doesn't mean they weren't called out for a job either.
-
I remember this - but won't comment other than to say measures were quickly put in place to make sure such never happens again.
-
I've been using it on my GSD's - and i'm a convert, we've never had an issue with them vomiting (but it's always given with a meal) and the fleas are finally not harrasing my dogs. One of my dogs has an allergy to fleas AND an allergy to some of the spot on products - so he's finally flea free, sore free and growing back a nice glossy black coat ;)

I have taken Bronx in to my office job - he loves it tho is a bit clingy. I also get to occasionally take my Indian Ringneck in - both critters have fan clubs at work!

What's The Most Ridiculous Thing Your Dog's Been Called?
KitKat replied to ~Rumour~'s topic in General Dog Discussion
I tend to get odd looks for KNOWING a breed :D ;) My GSD's are generally assumed to be GSD crosses...assuming because they are fluffy? Bronx got called a Collie X on here years ago ;) But he does have a pointy nose so... :D ETA - they get called husky x, wolf x, mal x, the black one got called a BSD...at a show! lol -
Most Effective For Flea Treatment?!?
KitKat replied to rivergem's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Comfortis here as well!!! It is better then i thought it would be and wonderfully effective! -
Drats! I could have sworn i've seen it about!
-
Pretty sure your local PetBarn/PetStock couldl have it...if they don't then ask them to order it in It will only be a couple of bags before you could consider going onto the adult version - either that or go with the Maxi Junior - that should be a standard shelf product.

Dog Walking Machine Vs Human Treadmill
KitKat replied to Heidii's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I've never seen them at Target before!! I'll have to keep an eye out! -
I'm happy to put my name down for the Birman (she'll be able to sneak in under rego here) and the small parrots for fostering etc especially if they are still there around the 27th (i realise that the critters will be up for adoption at that time rather then pts)

Dog Walking Machine Vs Human Treadmill
KitKat replied to Heidii's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Wow...that looks like a great unit! and not overly expensive considering the ones i've looked at over the years! Don't feel like you have to answer with exact figured...but can you give a ball park figure of the total cost including getting it to Aus, and the transformer pack etc? -
www.pricelesspets.com.au There is also another one that advertises at the top of the forum pages from memory...just can't for the life of me remember their name!

Well....so far the dogs are very very interested (the stim collar is in play now tho), i have work this afternoon so i'm trying to decide if i let the chooks stay in their pen - can't be seen by the dogs, only heard. Or if i lock the chooks in their shed which has the back shed wall that the dogs can get close to - now besser blocked and pinned along the bottom edge. Will see how the dogs go over the next few hours. I vibration stimmed one while i was inside and they didn't know i was watching, he was testing the besser bricks - and they haven't been back to it in the last 15-20mins. Will give it more time and keep an eye on them.

Im Going To Get Flamed For This.. I Do Feel Really Bad Though..
KitKat replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
No flaming from me either - looking like dingoes or not - if they were attacking or eating any of my critters/stock i'd have done the same thing. *hugs to you* -
Apparently they got the last of them out at around 10.30am
-
Has the RSPCA confirmed this? ETA - confirmed in the last few mins -
-
Fairfield was stating on their website that they had plans in place - last official thing from them. Now people are stating that it's going under and people need to go collect what animals they can to save them? Anyone know anything for sure?
-
At the moment the Fairfield Shelter seems to be ok, and i'm not sure if they'd be expecting people to go in to collect fosters or if they'd be trucked out so that the place the critters are going to can at least have a brief inspection. If it's the second, that's easy for me - their trucks/vehicles etc are likely to get across deeper water then my lil hyundai!
