  1. I agree hilaryo, this puppy doesn't seem right & the breeder should never have sold him. Poor little mite, my Australian terrier puppies where a similar size at 8 weeks. Glad the vet has given him the all clear though & I hope he starts to steadily put on some weight with the super premium food. :)
  2. Bailey- Bailo, Monkey man, Spunky, teddy bear, chunky man Jasper- Jazz,Jazzy, Jiffy, Gorgeous Brandy - Shandy, Candy, Bangie, Banjo, Little princess Jessie - jessie wessie, Jesso, Little fox
  3. Up until just recently we have always locked the dogs into dog runs outside when we go out. But after spotting a few brown snakes around the property, we have decided to leave them loose in our family room. They have toys to play with, water, a little bit of dry food in their bowls, comfy couch, or their beds to sleep on....& we also leave the tv on for them & the airconditioner on when it is a hot day. We take them for a small run around the property before going out so they can toilet before we leave, & we leave some newspaper on the ground near the sliding door in case they need to go. So far they haven't done any accidents, & none of them are really the destructive type either, so we are fairly confident they won't chew or destroy anything. From what I can see I would guess that they mostly just sleep the whole time we are out. I feel much better about keeping them inside than outside, & we will be keeping them inside from now on. :)
  4. I agree with Kavik....there's no way you could carry a larger breed puppy like a Great Dane into the vets. I have a smaller breed, & we always carry young puppies into the vets. :)
  5. Yep I would be definately asking why they are being rejected, it does seem to be getting a little ridiculous....When I applied for my prefix my 1st 10 where also rejected, I then put in another 10 & the 3rd one of my second lot was accepted. It certainly isn't easy, but I do know of some people getting very lucky & getting their 1st choice. I do think it is awful what your mum did, & I don't think they where too similar either.....Hope you get a new prefix very soon. :)
  6. I was going to mention the same thread K&P, it really is a must read for anyone contemplating breeding a litter from their pet. I do really feel for her though, she has had so much bad luck & she obviously loves her bitch & is trying to do all the right things by her ( Alot of BYB's would have given up & PTS the bitch & the puppies by now, rather than spend that sort of money ) She has definately learnt her lesson the hard way, & will not be breeding again any time soon. She has also allowed the mods on the forum to pin her thread to warn others thinking of getting a litter from their pet of what can go wrong.
  7. +1.....Bracken was absolutely beautiful Good luck with your search. :)
  8. I don't know much about Labs, but all the labs on their site don't look right to me, they look too big & very overweight. I'm also very put off about their no refund under any circumstances policy, it also makes me wonder if they would take back any dog they have bred if the owner couldn't keep it anymore. I also think their prices are too much, & one of the adult male dogs they are selling is for a pet home, but they said they would negotiate if anyone wants him for a stud dog, which to me means they might charge more for main papers. I liked the photos of their property & beautiful birds & wild life pics, but their dogs are just not my cup of tea.
  9. I don't know why you just don't take your beautiful puppy home & love him as a family pet, & down the track if you want to add a 2nd pup to your family from similar lines to this pup, I'm sure your breeder could sell your another puppy in the future. :) If you feel you must have a puppy sired from this pup then there is still the option of taking the breeders offer of co-ownership, where the breeder will then be able to decide if he is suitable for breeding from. :)
  10. Totally loved it.....Love the little one dressed up as an Ewock. :)
  11. Fantastic Ad, & such a beatiful dog too. :) I just love Border Collies.
  12. I would recommend an Aussie Terrier...Great little family dog, good with kids, easy to maintain low shedding coat, not too yappy, but will bark to announce visitors....& they have personality plus!! :) The only thing I would worry about though would be the free range chickens, as they would have to be kept apart due to the Terrier prey drive.
  13. Congratulations There is no way I could part with her either....she's just so adorable I love the new name, but must admit I love Rosalie (Rose or Rosie for short ) too...& have already decided that will be the name of my next Female Aussie Terrier pup. :)
  14. Oh ok, I didn't know you where expecting a baby in April....When are you thinking of getting the puppy? Might be a bit hard to take on caring for a newborn baby & a young puppy at the same time...I know I wouldn't be able to cope with that, but that's just me. +1 I have a teeny tiny puppy - no where near the energy levels of a gorgeous and crazy bull terrier puppy... and it can be tedious! I couldn't cope with a brand new baby AND a crazy puppy at the same time. Do you plan on sleeping at all? :) One of the girls I work with went to one of those puppy palace type pet stores (where you walk in and can pat the puppies in pens not behind glass. Came home with a huski and border collie. She went back the next week and came home with a lab, 3 very high energy pups at the same time. I just met up with my other friend who said she's now got dog number 4 and has just fallen pregnant. Crazy crazy girl. Shes only 24 as well. Gee that's just crazy, she must have money to burn getting that many puppies...Pet shop puppies aren't exactly cheap. Hope she'll be able to cope when the baby comes.

  16. This is the same for me....I've been with my hubby much longer than I've had my dogs, so I would have to unfortunately rehome any dog that took a disliking to him if it became a big problem. Having said that, All dogs seem to love him anyway, never seen one ever take a disliking to him....It's so sweet to see how all our dogs get so excited when he comes home from work. It's the same with our horses too, they love him too. :)
  17. Oh lovely, good luck with your visit to the breeders, hope everything goes well & you get a gorgeous puppy from them. :) Oh & lots of pics when you get him/her. :D
  18. Oooh how exciting...what breed are you looking at? :)
  19. No I would never put a sign in front of my house that I have pups for sale...I would be too scared of someone stealing them or stealing my adult dogs. I don't even have my full adress on my website.
  20. LOL R-A I just did the same thing as was just going to post the same thing as you. :) He looks like he is going to be a very big dog, but he is absolutely gorgeous. :)
