  1. The more you talk, the more you show how little experience you have with the breed and how little you know about dogs as a whole. Quit before you get any further behind.
  2. Mate, go get a clue start there. My dogs got plenty of drive its how you focus it that counts. As for strength this is totally irrelevant to training and walking well on leash.
  3. "They", as a breed, will not attack other animals big or small, This is complete garbage !!! My dog does not attack other animals and does not want to fight other dogs large or small. If you think all Pitbulls will attack other animals then I think you need to worry more about upping your experience and lessening your posting on the subject. All dogs more or less need a firm hand in my view. APBT's are not a difficult breed on the whole this is false. Most dogs will strain the lead if you let them, the idea is to have the dog trained to walk beside the handler on a slack lead, how much strength the dog or the handler has is irrelevant.
  4. My grandfather (RIP) grew up in China without any interaction with dogs. However, when he set up his own family in SE Asia his love for dogs became an obsession really. We always had big dogs and grandpa was one of the first few GSD owners in his area. Alan was his heart dog and grandpa would sit with Alan for hours just "chatting" away in Hokkien (Chinese Dialect). Dad told me that they had another GSD before Alan and the GSD was stolen one day. Grandpa sent out all his mates to look for the dog and eventually found him. The dog thief refused to return the dog to my grandpa claiming that it was his but grandpa identified the tatoo. So grandpa gathered his strongest mates (and my dad) and they barged into the man's house and beat the guy up for stealing a dog. . Dad told me that grandpa would do anything to get his dog back because they are all part of our family. Any human babies brought home from the hospital shortly after birth would also be introduced to our guard dogs...carried by doting grandpa Muslims may be wary of dogs because of religious beliefs. I just keep my dog out of the path of people whom I think are Muslims. Usually they avoid us first. Your grandfather sounds like a funny guy
  5. Dont know havnt noticed with Chinese. Africans definetly have a problem with dogs, that I have noticed on plenty of occasions. They are either scared of large dogs or just plain dont like them. Ofcourse theres exceptions obviously, especially im sure with people who have been here a good while, and ofcoure it doesnt apply to second generation. One guy who acted very scared of my dog told me it was because where he was from (cant remember the country) dogs are not pets they are only kept as ferocious guard dogs. Another time 2 guys I was sitting next to said they didnt like dogs because in Camaroon people dont walk dogs on the street and they arnt used to seeing them.
  6. Thats a riot. The bloke has no clue mate you can say what he think he knows as much as you like, what a joke ! Maybe he should write a book. Hey im a meter reader and dog expert and by that authority these are the worst breeds from 1 to 10 No thier not Some APBT's will guard, but on the whole APBT is not a breed to put your money on if your in the market for a guard dog, your more than likely to end up dissapointed. APBT's are not a difficult breed. On a whole they are easy to train, intelligent and biddable. They benifit from training, general responsible ownership and so forth this is necessary for all dogs.
  7. Its all how you choose to look at it I dont think its an uphill battle at all, far from it. We do have problems with bad breeders this is fact and its very frustrating, but the same is seen in all popular breeds.
  8. The RSPCA will be part of a positive change this is exactly the kind of thing that is needed, they need to hear from us and know they have support on this and that people are expecting them to see it through. Forget about Huge Jackarse, oops I mean Hugh Wirth, his on his own the rest of the RSPCA is thinking ahead now.
  9. Hi Kreed. Certainly will sign and pass it on. General would be a good place to post too
  10. You were saying ? I like my delusional little fantasy world im going to stay.
  11. Of all the dogs to label a Pitbull why that one its just a little cross breed Anyway Finger crossed over here
  12. Waoh his beautiful And so is your other dog
  13. My Shiba was a great dog and ofcourse stunning to look at but they are not a breed for everyone. As has been said already they do have a "difficult" nature. My boy was characterized by bieng dignified, aloof, and independent. He was also very territorial. Put him somewhere and if his there more than a few minutes then thats it he thinks he owns that space all of a sudden. Iv heard it said that if Shiba's could say one word it would be "mine", this is spot on edit - for some spelling re cats im not sure I dont remember and could not comment on the breed as a whole in this respect. Actually I dont think he ever saw a cat. He was not aggressive with any other animal he was exposed to as far as I can recall.
  14. I dont know much about the laws re dingoes but I would not overcomplicate matters. An ACD or Kelpie x will do fine and as far as you know thats what she probably is anyway ;) She is a sweet looking girl
  15. RIP Poor Pitty Yes if at all avoidable never take a Pitty to the pound without insight into how they do things and who they are. You weren't to know its not your fault you did what you thought was right.
  16. The laws are born of ignorance - reason doesnt mean a thing to the government. We could have NO APBT attacks in this country, infact we could have no APBTs in this country at all, they would still be in the newspaper all the time and they would still be pushing to tighten the noose around the APBT further with every attack. One day someone will start on the !!! BULLMASTIFF !!! The STAFFY !! or another breed, and it will move to it instead :D edit - no point going over the same ground as its been said.
  17. This was my point with regard to BSL forum blow ins, most of them couldnt care less about the topic at hand, only here to stir trouble with people who are passionate about the topic. I think theres a label for people like that and it starts with a T.
  18. Tony, that means alot coming from you iv always admired your approach and knowledge
  19. Puppy was a Rottie x... NOT a bull breed at all. So Lo pan... do you comply fully with the legislation regarding restricted breeds with your own dog?? Is your dog (that you claim to be a Pitbull) registered with your local council as a Pitbull?? So Cordellia, Puppy is a Staffy X Rotty to the best of my knowledge. :D Not sure what authority you think you have to tell me what breed my dog is or isnt, oh wait an ex rescuer another breed i'd expert. How I manage them is none of your business that is my affair. edited to add rolleye emoticon
  20. Its possible but unlikely. I had a bullbreed I named "Puppy" though
  21. A dogs name doesnt say anything about the owner. Traditional name for a bullbreed for example is "Rocky", just as its traditional for a bullbreed to wear a studed collar. It doesnt say anything about the owner, just the same as its traditional for a Doberman to have cropped ears and a docked tail (overseas) or for a poodle to have that distinctive show cut, means nothing more and nothing less. My mate who recently bought a staffy called it Rocky too, what does that say about him ? My uncles Bullterrier (RIP, died at the age of 16) was also called Rocky. "Tyson" so what ? Maybe his named after Iron Mike, or maybe they just like the name, who cares. My sister had a friend (human female friend) called Tyson.
  22. I think some people take things a little too far with thier judgement and thier suffocating conservatism. What happened to "fair dinkum", a "fair go", "common sense". The Australians who earned us that reputation sure are thin on the ground these days it would seem, both on the street and in office.
  23. No its not "whatever", we have an issue around here with BSL forum blow ins who come in and cause trouble all the time. You made out like your a comedian when infact the vast majority of the public do not identify APBT's correctly and this is a large portion of the problem theres nothing funny in that.
  24. You have me all wrong I think the problem here is your "projecting" and this wouldnt be the first time. I dont stay determined to stick to any "excuse" I only go on the facts presented. Pitbulls will never be bred out, there are more APBT's in this country today then there have ever been. Progress will be made when the revoking of BSL continues its spread through Europe and ofcourse the USA. As has been mentioned before Australia IS weak as water our true leadership lies overseas not here.
