  1. Hi, True Blue Meat Bits has been recomended to me. I have seen the label and it reads the following; "All Natural" No artificial colours, flavours preservatives. ( I know "All Natural" is not as natural as raw etc) Ingredients: Beef, Lamb, Tallow, Rice, Wheat, Wheat Germ, Bran Pollard Maize Meal, Lucerne Meal, Coconut Meal, Bone Flour Salt, Vitamins, A D B1 B2 B6 B12 E Minerals Cal Panto, Folic, Biotin, Zinc Magnesium Iodine, Selenium. It is really good value for money and been recomended by a very reputable breeder who has been using it for years and whose dogs are thriving. Anyone heard of it? Used it? Got any comments on the ingredients. ta
  2. This is running along the lines of something I have been thinking about lately. To my understanding and I admit I should double check it as I am having a vague moment but I am sure I will get the right info from you guys. that the diseases pups are vaccinated against are not zoonotic meaning they are not transferred to humans. Whilst that may be the case, can we still somehow transfer them to unvaccinated puppies? This brings me to a few questions; How is this done? Clothing, shoes etc. Is it able to be kept alive this way?? For you groomers out there, how many of you insist on seeing a vaccination certificate before you take on a new dog, whether that is mobile or salon? I have been thinking about this as I am getting a new pup in around 4 weeks and whilst it will not go into the trailer until all shots are done and dusted I still could be a carrier in some way all be it a small risk. ta
  3. Shell, There is also a book getting around that shows the clips and styles for most breeds. It is called "The All Breed Dog Grooming Guide" by Sam Kohl and Catherine Goldstein. It is a very old book but well worth it. They illustrate instructions and has heaps of useful info when starting out. Even if you get a 2nd hand copy, well worth it. Cheers
  4. Hi, I would be chopping the trees down if you can, they are not natives so you don't need council permission. If that is not an option you can hire from Kennards a thingy that has an extendable handle and a blade (like a chain saw) and cut the seed bunch off. It was quite cheap to hire. Only a matter of time as they will give one of them a blokage at some point. cheers
  5. Or at least put him in a crate in the garage Bugger the garage!!! he can go outside!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. If anyone has a solution please help. I need it for the husband not the dogs they are fine!!!! Maybe I should get rid of the husband????
  7. Hi, A customers almost 12 year old Lab has Colitis and has so for a number of years. She is extremely happy and doing very well. I know they have to keep her on a strict diet. I don't give her treats when I wash her, the customer has a pile of her stuff ready for me and she is as happy as a pig in mud. I am sorry I know nothing clinical about it , I just know about this one case. Good luck,
  8. Just a thought, only guessing. Could it be ears?
  9. NO!!! REALLY!!! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT! tou-che' Time to get on with it I think. alot more things in this world to be worried about than my opinion.
  10. I don't have a problem, I simply think common sense should come into play. I agree, I do need to learn to quote successfully. I am new to the system and will get there. We all make mistakes, don't we!!
  11. I thought I was the only one that got excited because they have a purple bath !!!! enjoy!!
  12. Have Fun!!!! Will make life alot easier.
  13. I would go with Aloveen as well. They have a great leave in conditioner that you can use between washes. Just rub some in your hands and rub it on. As far as helping the skin, Flaxseed Oil is an option, omega oils also.
  14. he said we must use it throughout from oct to march once a week. If you see no hot spots, no licking or no redness you are just wasting good money washing him weekly. Whilst I don't suggest to let it get bad first, certainly keep an eye out for the signs. Then weekly whilst there is a problem. I have washed dogs fortnightly or monthly and that can maintain things if symptoms aren't flared up in the meantime. While every dog if different, weekly really is overkill if the skin is healthy. cheers
  15. Hi, A bath provides a terrific clean. If you do it in your human tub you have to lean over further and have so much hair to clean up. At least with the hydrobath the hair is at the end of the waste hose and all you have to do is pick the one pile. If the vet has suggested Malaseb or Pyohex you can't go wrong. It will get it under control pretty quickly and then you will be able gauge if you really need weekly once it is under control. I probably would see how the hot spots react before spending the money on the tub and if you find you have to go weekly then it may be worth the investment. Where are you? Do some comparisons on local mobile groomers.
  16. That was my thought. Is he/she food guarding becuase it is enjoying it. Might be worth tyring another premium food and a supplment or accupuncture. If you stick to HSD feed the pup some carrots to fill it a bit and occupy it's mind.
  17. When you say you use Head and Shoulders or Pantene?? Wouldn't you use something PH balanced for dogs? They have a different ph level to us. I am guessing they give you no problems?
  18. Hi, Pet only, just would like opions / thoughts on clips, shampoo's etc. Many thanks
  19. Hi, I am aware you should not blow dry and only us a comb no brushes. ??? Also with clipping, any do's or don't's ?? What shampoo do you use? Have you found any that really do not suit?
