  1. It was worth it, Shell! I LOVE that shot of us! Thank you Oh and yes, my grass is that long. Don't really have time to mow while my head is in the books!
  2. See the Endurance Test 2011 thread Yes, you can do an ET in another state, but you need to belong to your respective state's dog organisation. So if you were doing an ET in Vic but you lived in NSW, you would need to be a member of DogsNSW.
  3. Thanks... It does take practice! My remote is broken (though may be just out of batteries) so I was having to focus on a point, switch it to manual and cross my fingers! THEN I had a brainwave moment and started using Jedi as my "stand in" for something to focus on He is very helpful! Thanks Ah, I wish I was you in that photo, Huga... 1.5 days until exams. Just have to remind myself that it's almost over!
  4. We have only had BOB so would love some competition for a Challenge. Same here! I think from memory there were 2-4 breeds per group entered at the last few we've been to. But it varied depending where the show was.
  5. Love your shot today, Huga. He's turning into such a little man! Day 15 - Silence
  6. How tall is she? She might be a nice height dog for flyball? Maybe ask the AFA to advertise her on their website?
  7. We have a Beagle at our obedience club and it is the most amazing worker. Really brilliant... He works as nice as any border collie or golden retriever that I've seen.
  8. I've never heard of Pumi so I googled them and they the funniest looking dogs! How awesome. Agility Flyball
  9. Out of curiosity, who were the Lappies you've seen working and what sport was it? Lappies are a small world - I wonder if I know of them!
  10. A Beardies coats are a lot more work than a border collies. They are lovely dogs and I love the ones I know but I couldn't cope with the grooming required. Other than that I have no breed recommendations as I would always have a BC. What is the grooming like just out of curiosity? I can't imagine it would be more than my Keeshonds (line grooming, 1 hour a week)
  11. Yeah, Lappies are becoming a popular 'pet' breed, but not so much as a performance dog... Which to be honest, I can 100% understand. They are a bit hit & miss with drive levels, etc and really, if you're looking for a performance dog, you don't want to have that much uncertainty about whether they will have enough drive. I have met some Lappies that act like they are stoned... Not a good starting point for an agility dog In saying that, there are lines that are more likely to produce a nutter, so they are out there. I was very lucky with Ahsoka! I LOVE beardies!!!!!! if you can't handle a WL mal I would rule out a Pyr Shep - these dogs are INSANE! And also are quite neurotic from what i've heard! TN - on the website of the lady who has imported - do we have any pics of them at all?? No pictures on their website, but these are some from the breeder's website - Hobnobs Vitamine Click on the links - http://www.hobnobs.se/Vita.jpg The one on the left http://www.hobnobs.se/V-Kull.jpg http://www.hobnobs.se/hej.jpg http://www.hobnobs.se/Big%20kisses.jpg
  12. I think that's a good move... You would be amazed at how much a well-trained dog can teach a puppy/new dog. It will make your life so much easier! Case in point -- I taught (Jedi) to ring a bell to let me know he needed to go outside. Second dog comes along (Ahsoka - 8 weeks old). At 10 weeks of age she just started ringing the bell with absolutely no instruction from any human! Every dog who has stayed here longer than a week has learned to ring that bell... Again, with no direction from me!
  13. MM - That looks SO comfortable... Day 014
