Yep... I can always predict when my girl is coming into season because she becomes really cuddly and she's a lot calmer when we're training though I'm kinda liking it for a few precision behaviours!!!

My dog is another 'extreme'... He has severe atopic dermatitis and has been on cortisone on and off - mostly while we were waiting for his immunotherapy vaccine to be developed and for his flare-ups early-on in his immunotherapy. He's now been off the steroids for over a month and is already showing improvements on the immunotherapy after only 3 months. In the past though - he was given two cortisone injections for allergic reactions to unknown allergens (still don't know what caused it). He was prescribed cortisone tablets by our vet dermatologist to give him some relief after we found out he has atopic dermatitis. This was on a day on/day off basis. We were also told to try medicated washes but they did nothing to help so we stopped using them.

Brush Farm training at Eastwood is obedience training rather than show training. There is show training at Castle Hill Showground at 7.30pm on Tuesday nights. And also Wednesday nights (different people running the Wednesday night one).

Jedi's turned sucked until I started doing 'T-turns' footwork - now my body language is much more predictable and his turns are cleaner.

She sounds like a typical young Finnish Lapphund bitch to me. It's typical of the breed to be independent, particularly the girls. Though they do become more 'cuddly' at about a year old from my experience. But I don't think you should ever expect her to be clingy - it's not in their nature. They do like to know that you're 'around' though... which is evident when you leave. Ahsoka always has her own agenda and is quite independent - always has been. She's always out in the yard with her own agenda - she occasionally comes to say hello and then she's off again hunting lizards. She will have cuddles of an evening but that only started once she'd had her first season. She's nothing like Jedi (keeshond) who will follow me around EVERYWHERE, but that's what his breed is like.

Mine don't wear collars at home either, but they are inside the house if we're not home so I'm not really worried about them needing ID. They wore breakaway collars when we used to leave them in the backyard.

That's what I do... Say "ready" in response. Again, I don't want to use "yes" as it's a marker word for my dogs. We just got back from flyball training and Ahsoka is now doing passes! By the end of training she had dropped at least one second off her previous times, was much more focused on the box and wasn't paying any attention to the dog she was running onto (as opposed to considering chasing after it)! Woohoo!

Gooooooo Ruby!! HUGE congratulations on the double win!!!! Look at those frillies! My brag for the weekend is that Soaks did soooo well in the flyball demo today at Sydney Royal!!! It was the first time she was doing proper runs in front of such a big crowd with loads of distractions (including a very green dog who though she was more interesting to run after). I'm so proud of her! Jedi also had a ball showing off his recalls over the jumps in front of the crowd.

I would highly recommend against clipping, particularly if it's a skin issue... At best, it'll just take a long time to grow back (probably a poorer coat though). At worst, it could make the skin irritation worse or not help at all (fairly common). I know how awful and time-consuming it can be with a Keeshond with skin issues (my boy has severe atopic dermatitis), but I would personally never resort to clipping.

Abby wasn't there on Friday... She was racing today. We'll put up some Abby shots soon. Nah, that's Woofenpup's legs... We were doing a recall over the jumps and Woof was releasing him for me.

This is what I do, rather than have my head up and looking dead straight ahead I keep it at about a 45 degree angle looking at the ground a few metres ahead this way I can keep an eye on where my dog is without making direct eye contact. I do this too... Plus, if I was looking at my dog, I'd probably trip over!

She was very popular with the crowd!
