  1. best get out there for a look, the first thing I thought of with that shop was the doggy stuff I am a doggy stuff Junkie!! Love the kitty stuff too but my cats 18 yo and 6 yo are past toys now Geez I could have waited re the harness, oh well in my attempt to make Tully into a girly girl the harness I got will be great for that!! Although Im betting by the end of the tracking day it will be as black as she likes to get. She is my tom boy girl!!
  2. How does Nutro and Artemis compare price wise to Eagle Pack?? Say for a 15 kilo quantity? The Natural EP is around $110 for 15 kilo
  3. Hi Guys, I was just speaking to Patricia and she said all are welcome to the tracking day, she doesn't mind if people come and just watch or socialized dogs but she is asking for is a donation of $5 per person to cover the cost of insurance and some money has to be donated to the place where the tracking is to be held. The $5 applies to members of modern dog training as well. There will be tea and coffee available for morning tea. Also if anyone wants to stay for the BBQ afterwards they just need to bring thier own meat and a salad to share.
  4. Good shot though, tells a story with guy in the background unpacking his boxes, all he needs now is a customer! I just had another look at the pic, the guy could be a customer!
  5. Ah Tez, you know me soooo well!! Jane is a legend, every story you tell reminds me so much of Marley, from that movie Marley and me.
  6. If you are having trouble keeping substance on an active dog, have you ttried ProPlan Performance ? If you are unhappy after a good trial ProPlan have a "mpney back" guarantee. Also ALL ADULT dry and ALL PUPPY dry varieties of ProPlan are MADE IN AUSTRALIA. I did try pro plan early on but Cooper just turned up his nose, I persevered for a while but he just didn't like it. Eagle pack has been the first food that he has actually looked for which is a big deal for him. So happy to see him actually run to his food bowl in aniticipation for his food.
  7. Thanks for all the replys, it is interesting to hear what everyone else feeds and here is one of the only places where I know people really do care about thier dogs general health as far as what they consume from day to day. If I told some of my friends how much I spend on dog food they would have an absolute fit! So far the new diet is going well (although the dogs are not so sure ) missing thier bigger quota of meat and veges etc. I decided to go half what they were having and add half EP and half SC so thier food is basically half bickys and half meat & veg. generally they would have mostly meat and veg with a few bickys. So I will gradually ween them off the meat and vet and Supercoat and they will have all EP with occasional extras such as fish, eggs and also bones and chicken necks/wings etc. The thing is after tea of a night they seem like they are still really hungry then they seem to settle. I wonder if it is the fact that they are not physically consuming as much in the way of the amount they were having so they may feel like they haven't had enough but once it sits in thier tummys for a while it fills them up?? Is it like humans when they say eat your meal and if you are still hungry wait 10 mins and that feeling will pass. Not sure how they will go when they are on only dry as the amount for thier weight is around a cup (metric) and 1/4 which is not much, I am thinking they will definatley be giving me the evil eye then. One of my girls is not so keen but the rest are going great so far.
  8. Hey Tanya, you still looking for a second doggy, how cute would Bruno be with a little cavvy for a companion!
  9. CB they are so cute, do they all have homes already? Are you keeping one?
  10. Awwww that's so cute, I posted a similar pic in a thread earlier today of my oldest two in a similar position. Doesn't it just warm your heart to see them like that!!
  11. Tez, your funny, I was just thinking about what to wear and don't worry Tully probly won't want to be seen with me either
  12. You will have a ball with it, look forward to photos once it arrives!!
  13. Well that is a bittersweet story Linda, well done to the little fella, and Im sure his mum is looking down on him!! By the way I dont even know what RUISS is im guessing runner up something or other??
  14. I think it would be great if you came and watched even bring the young fella for a bit of socialization at least if you wanted to, Im thinking all the dogs that are going are pretty sound and well socialized. Very good point with regards to your lot and what you have them doing. From my point of view I love any of the "workshop" type things we do, I would love to have my guys do a wide variety of different things but have no interest in trialing what so ever in any field, just more having fun for me is the most important thing. All 4 of mine are good at different things, so depending on which particular thing we are doing, I decide on which dog Will benefit the most if that makes sense and that's who I take. I think the tracking will be good for TJ as she decides these days that she would rather stay home, jacking up every time we go somewhere I have to make her get in the car and yet when we get there she is happy to run around and have a play. She is the least dog social out of all of mine so I like to keep her involved and work on that side of things with her. If you don't ring Trish I can certainly ask her this weekend about spectators but I am sure she wont mind. She also has the swim gym now set up at her place which is all finished as far as I know but I haven't been out there for a while so I can't wait to see what it is like
  15. Thats what I reckon, it looks great on her being white, as long is its a fashion statement thats all that matters!! Probly way to trendy for tracking, more of a fashion accessory than a working accessory but who cares!
  16. Geez Im fickle headed to pet stock today to get the EP as they had 20% off so that made the 15 kg bags $83 so I thought that was pretty good, had a look at the harnesses, they had some cheapies about $15 which would have been fine but then I spotted the rogz ones, they were pretty cool so I decided on one of them @ $30 just plain purple but then I spotted the really cool pretty colored ones so I decided on one of them @ $38 I might as well have got the one from Geelong! Oh and she had to have a collar to match.... and I'm guessing I will go back next pay day and get her a lead to match too. I can justify it by saying it is Tully's Birthday on the 26th which is the day before tracking so it will be her birthday present!! Spoilt rotten doggies!!
  17. I think you will be hard pressed here for anyone to say it is a bad idea. I got my second dog when my oldest was about 7 months old and we never looked back. For him and for me it was the best decision I ever made. One of my favorite photos of them together Once you have the second dog you will wonder why you ever questioned yourself in doing it!!
  18. I had exactly the same thing with my girl Tully, I had posted this in another section of the forum so I just copy and pasted it here for you to read. Tully was toilet trained really early but she would go to the door and just sit there with out making a sound and just wait for me to come to let her out, now this was fine during the day when I was around to see her, open the door and out she goes. BUT at night she did the same thing which posed a problem if I was fast asleep, (the others woke me to go by either barking or nudging the side of the bed.) But Tully just went to the door and sat and If I didn't come to let her out there would be a puddle in the morning. So I got a bell and hung in on the door and for the next few times she needed to go out when she sat at the door I would tap her foot on bell and then let her strait outside to do her business. My OH said oh that is never going to work but by the very next night she was ringing the bell by herself, we were both shocked that she caught on so quick but it works so well now 2 of them use the bell at night to let us know if they want to go out which is not often but it works so well. Lacy doesn't use the bell but just stands next to the bed and barks at me to wake up if she needs to go and Bronson is in his crate so if he needs to go he just gives a little cry but he has a steel bladder and never wants to go out during the night, he is too busy sleeping Tully also rings the bell to let us know the cat wants to come in!! Give it a go, it worked a treat for us!!
  19. Messy pup is so cute, but the cup cake doggy is just plain weird looking like he has been hypnotised
  20. JJ, you probly have my pm by now! Theresa, Patricia Hennig is the lady running the tracking day, it will be kind of informal as far as I know. The last one that I went to about 2 years ago, I was the only one that turned up so that was a little disappointing but me and my boy Cooper got some good one on one lesson about tracking and how it all works, although this next day will be like a refresher for me as it was so long ago. I don't know if Trish is with the tracking club. I'm not sure if she is a qualified tracking person?? If you are interested or want to know more pm me and ill give you her number. I think Jess is the only one here that trials. Whats up with Vegas? also refresh my memory again, where are you based?
  21. Sharon, you still at work or have you got your net working at home again?
  22. That would be me. There is a tracking day on the 27th June at Hawksdale, being run by the lady who runs modern dog training. I am pretty sure it is open to anyone, but if anyone is interested I can find out for sure. It is a 9am start and a BYO meat and salad to share for a BBQ lunch it should be a good day.
  23. oh and we could have a photography corner set up!!
  24. great idea Sharon but JJ is right, most of my $$$ goes on doggy stuff! Probably just as well we don't have a decent pet goods store in town I would be perpetually ( sp) broke
