Yep Hunter is so cute, although Bronson being Bronson didnt love him as much as Cooper did. My boys are polar opposites of each other and so are the girls! I have been alternating the dogs with training, so I only take one a week and I can still help out if need be, like today we had a big group so Laura and I stood out to observe in a few of the exercises. I also take the photos which has been a hit with a few of the attendants. Its great they can see the progress their dogs are making each week no matter how big or small. Good luck on your puppy hunt, very hard picking a breed if your not real sure what you want or can manage. Have you looked into how much maintenance a Berners coat needs? Why not start a thread. you might get some good ideas you haven't thought of?

I wish my subject would just sit there. I think I knew you had the same lens as me, you shots seem a lot clearer than mine, and you are getting closer to your subject. Is your lens IS?

Hey Jess, I had a chat to Laura today and she said she would be happy for you to join in, in any capacity you want whether is be in the actual class or doing your own thing on the outskirts. If your in town one Sunday come along and have a squiz. At least then you will know if it will suit you or not.

Thanks I have some better ones but thought this was fitting with the canon hat. I put it on my facebook page and shared it with my OH and said Hint Hint! Wonder if he will get the hint!!?

They are all awesome! Which Macro lens do you have again? Are you using Manual focus? Also do you have your camera on one shot or continuous, sorry so many questions, just curious about techniques used.

The photo give me the feeling that I am sitting in the chair next to her.

It sounds great, I've never heard of it? Is it specific to the 7D? Do you have a link or other info. The 7D is a lot of camera and you really have to study up to get the most out of it. I think we should also have a 7D thread to share tips end tricks we have found to help us along the way.

Oh well that's great a little brother for the girlies, they will love him. I definaltey think 'sit stay' would suit and if not then you haven't lost anything really, apart from a drive to get here. you will like Laura, she is really down to earth and very cruisey. Shannon also goes when she can so there's another familiar face.

Tanya I havent even started my Xmas shopping yet! How exciting Milahs first Christmas! Jess, The facebook page is HERE the training/obedeince school is a very casual affair. Laura (owner of the GD) is running the classes, she has trained and is qualified from the NDTF, she wanted people to have a place to go to get advice with issues and also run a general obedience type of thing for anyone that wants to join in. We have done a few different things apart from obedience such as one day did a street walk and last weekend we did part of the board walk, which was great, we have a couple of puppies int he group and it was good to see them out and about and being good dogs in the wake of skate boarders, bikers, pushers etc, its a busy place down there so it was great socialisation for the dogs. At the moment there is no cost, she is thinking about adding a charge next year, it will be minimal but she wants some of the money to be donated to Dogs for kids with Disabilities HERE as Katie who runs the program is completely non profit and they need funds to keep the program going. Laura is passionate about dogs and loves to help people who need it. I'm sure she would be open to you joining in on any level or capacity that you want. We have some dog aggressive dogs in the class and everyone is mindful of the ones who are not happy being close to other dogs, there is no off leash and all dogs are under control at all times. Most of the people who have joined in so far are very new to dog obedience and have started from scratch, others have been to either of the other clubs on occasion and left for whatever reason. Some just want to socialize and keep up to scratch with good K9 behaviour. I on occasion help with obedience routines and ideas for different things and also take photos for the facebook page. There is a few regulars now that come each week and some weeks we only had a couple of people others there might be more. Check out the page and the photos and you will get an idea of numbers. Now did I hear you mention baby puppy?? Did we miss something?? You have a new baby?? So exctied thnking you might have a new puppy, I forgot to add, your original question about leeway with PPS, all the ones I have been to are super structured and mostly the instructors treat you like an idiot who has never owned a dog before. I took Lacy to brierly but wanted her to go to a second class so we went to the vets and the instructor berated me for taking her to a outdoor class before she was vaccinated and just generally treated me like an idiot. But towards the end of the classes we had to do demos and of course who was the top of the class. So the instructor said she could see Lacy benefited from earlier socialisation and training. I also went back when Bronson was a baby (although I don't know why I bothered, he slept through most of it) I went for socialisation with him more than anything else to give him time away from the other 3.

I have no idea what week we are up to now so I'll call mine week 43. A Delta visit..

Such a horrific outcome for poor little Orange. I kept hoping she would be found safe and well. When I seen the update on Facebook I just thought it would be good news. A devastating time for Oranges breeder/family, my thoughts are with you guys.

Oh pretty. I just had a look at Nikons macro(micro) line up and there is definatley no 50mm Nikons macro lens line up You could get yourself some extension tubes if you wanted to get a bit more magnification from your 50mm. The 50mm will be able to do close up photography well but not true Macro. I have a Bryan Peterson book (ebook) about macro and close up photography,it's really good. I can send you a copy if you like. pm me your email addy.
-
Did you get it from a shop? Unless Nikon has bought out a 50mm Micro and I haven't seen it? Anyone else want to chime in here? NIkon peeps. Your other lenses will have a motor in them.
-
EF, your camera doesn't have a focus motor so it cannot make the lens auto focus unless the lens has its own focus motor which the AF 50mm 1.8 does not have. Can you use it successfully with manual focus? If not I'd suggest getting the AFs 50mm 1.8. Is yours only new could you return it and swap for the other one? Wat sort of pictures will you be taking? This lens is not a macro lens either, you will be able to get reasonably close but won't be able to get 1.1 magnification with the 50mm. I think I mentioned it further up the page, I loved my 50mm on my Nikon but it was Auto focus, I'm not good at manual focusing and rely on the auto focus a lot. Hope you can get it sorted.

The first ep was really good, they put themselves in the firing line and it was quite scary to see what they do for their work!
-
Great shots guys, I'm the same with the running shots, mine are pretty much similar and hard to get panning shots as they are usually running towards me. I just remembered a non dog shot form a couple of months ago that would fit this thread, I'll have to dig it out.
-
Hunter will be our newest addition to SItandstay good dog obedience, im sure he will fit in beautifully, he is so cruisy and has a beautiful nature, he just wanted to smooch and cuddle and Cooper loved him. Hope everyone else is well, pop in and lets know what you have been up to!
-
Well well no one has been in here for ages, so I thought I would pop in and post a couple of pictures from today, most of you will have seen them via facebook but thought I'd bump this thread back up a bit! Whats everyone been up too? Not much news with us, all fur kids are good, Seans mums back in Hospital so not so good. But apart from that we are just cruising along!! Laura has had a well kept secret over the last few months and today Cooper and I got to meet him. He is an 8 week old Great Dane, his name is Hunter, and he is soooo cute!! Suitably impressed with his new buddy.
