  1. Good attitude to have but do remember, that for one, training a dog creates a strong bond usually, and secondly, I don't think anyone here would take a dog if they didn't think they could bond with it just because it has potential :p Whatever you decide, I want puppy cuddles ;)
  2. Is it possible that agentvee's reply was aimed at Mason2009? Edit: I see you were quoted in the previous reply. Never mind
  3. RIP Benson. I'll always remember that photo of you "grinning" coming out of the water!!! Run free Hugs to you, Gayle
  4. OK you know how psycho Millie can get. No she isn't working lines (heck, who knows what lines! Downside of a rescue!) but she makes it sooooooooooooo much fun to train because she is so full on and eager to do stuff. But I have taught her manners at home and she too is a joy to live with. You can have a drivier dog that isn't a nightmare to live with.
  5. Love your sense of humour...I can see BC brains exploding SD I'm with the BC :D Oh, and idiot that I am wrote 45 degrees instead of 90 Ah yeah, I knew what you meant I was busy doing the math and had to do it a couple of times to go ohhh I think she meant 90 degrees
  6. I won't be blase about a CDX if/when that comes my way, let me assure you!!! Or a retrieving related one :p
  7. Address to post them to would be handy just in case I can't find my Canine News tonight!
  8. Does anyone know how much Perth agility trial entries are? Trying to print out entries now. And also, is NFC for agility half price like it is in obedience? Ta!
  9. All this talk of submitting for titles and it still didn't remind me til now that I haven't put in for Ruby's AD
  10. Will you be able to collect it from anyone on the book order list? If you can arrange pickup, then yep no worries you can get in on our order Hi RS, I am north of the river so can collect it easily from someone from the list if they live nearby. Alternatively, any excuse to travel further to catch an agility meet is easily done ;) Done!
  11. Well if we get that room like we were talking, we can get there in the afternoon and check in and maybe have an early bite to eat? I'm not sure my stomach can hold out til 9pm!
  12. What a lovely story!! What a kind foster family, too! And I really love the name of the rescue org, Secondhand Hounds!!
  13. Yep it was really fast and I was Pretty sure it was the Wednesday it arrived because I was super impressed. The sucky part of the deal I don't like about CAWA is we have to pay to have our certificate of registration re-issued. Unlike other states where you send your original in and it gets re-issued automatically, we only send ours in IF we want it re-issued and pay a nice price for it, too! No thanks! I'll keep my original. Their titles are there, just not printed on their registration I hold in my hot little hands. If I was a breeder and wanted it to show the titles for puppy buyers I'd update it then, but not after every title.
  14. Ivy was a cute pup! Love the one of her speaking her mind
  15. Just out of interest, how long did the fast-tracked title application take to be processed and arrive versus the normal title application process? I've never used the fast-tracked service (ours I think is $40, not $10, so you'd have to be pretty desperate to use it!!!!) I remember sending my stuff off via email with PDF attachments on Monday morning, and the certificate was in my mailbox on Wednesday or Thursday. Talk about service! I even emailed them back to thank them for such speedy service!!! But that isn't normal, usually takes a week and a bit for things to arrive.
  16. Yep happy belated birthday, bedazzled!!!
  17. Labs from show lines are quite capable of the retrieving side of things, too ;) Even rescue BYB Labs show potential. Perhaps but its the usual story - if you want a dog for the job, buy from proven lines. Customs, the AFP etc all use dogs from working lines for scent detection. They are gorgeous Labs. Problem is she wants a laid back pup. Working lines is probably not going to give that to her.

  19. I count Millie's birthday as the day in October I got her as well :D :-) when did you get her?? I got Sasha on October 14. 2 days before my b'day :-) October 21 in 2009. We think she was born in 2006.
  20. Will you be able to collect it from anyone on the book order list? If you can arrange pickup, then yep no worries you can get in on our order
  21. The classes they hold are Beginners, Advanced Beginners, Intermediate, and Pre-Trialling. Classes run during the school terms and like Ptolomy said, there is a graduation test at the end of each term to assess if you are ready to move up to the next level. You pay your membership fee and then $3 lights money each week you attend. Minimum age to attend obedience I believe is just once they have completed their puppy vacs, and no training experience necessary. If you do feel that you and your dog are past the Beginner stage and want to go straight to Advanced Beginners, you will probably need to be assessed. Yep, Ruski can help! But I think she's off in Bali at the moment, lucky bugger I have no idea about the Monday night agility class except for the fact that it's termed Social Agility. Lots of dogs are on lead and it's more for fun than training to trial. Hope we've all been able to help!
  22. I'll take it then!! Ruby was the naughtiest and bossiest pup in the litter. Always the one to start jumping on the litter mates. Now that I have a bit of a better idea of how to handle such a pup, I am looking forward to a Ruby all over again in the future to train! And for the record, she has matured into the most well behaved young lady I could have ever hoped for. Such a joy to live with :D
