I'm looking up dog profiles on DOL, like you do and there is a Lab whose registered name is Ruby Ruby Roo That is what I call my baby girl, would have loved that for her registered name Goes well with Millie Moo And a bit more of useless info but I'm excited to find a Dual Ch Lab (in tracking) with obedience titles and it's a half sibling to Ruby :D Same daddy!

Welcome to WA I am a long way away though (about 2 hours :p) Yes, welcome! What brings you to our side of the world? :D I'm south of Perth, just not that far south!!

I was actually thinking of you and Bear the other day and how you're going with your obedience and agility? You never ended up joining the puppy classes at ACWA? How is he coming along? Videos if you have any would be great :D

Oh no RV - don't sway me!!! They are utterly adorable!!! I better be invited over for puppy cuddles at some stage How old are they now? Are they from interstate?

My whinge for the day. I'm having one of those days where I am finding it almost impossible to stay awake and focus. All I want to do is find a pillow, crawl under my desk, and This is happening just too often now! I really need a holiday.

I'm not such a fan of these high interest accounts. Sounds great first, but you have to declare the interest at tax time as income and you end up just paying it all back again!

Need A New Heelwork To Music Song

Thriller has a really nice walking beat to it. -
Thinking for my first obedience dogs, I am not going to aim for UDX just yet Let's just see if I can get to UD first as that looks plenty enough challenge for me! Maybe in a few dogs time I may challenge myself! I am hearing of so many clashes between how you teach stuff for UD and then it biting you in the bum for UDX, so to be proactive and teach UD a little differently so that UDX isn't that much more of a step. But as UD daunts me already, without having to also think how it may affect UDX later, so baby steps for me! I might have some white cones for sale, now

RV made me do it She found another website that does them with cheaper shipping and it wasn't any cheaper to go in together as they charge 25% of the cost of the total order for shipping, or a minimum of $20. So I ordered one a fortnight ago with half a dozen dummies. http://www.cabelas.com ;) I still need more stuff So happy to do a group order later in the year I need some canvas dummies and a proper duck sized dokken. ETA - Toby is no longer allowed to play with the dokken after I noticed a few teeth marks... I'm happy to order another dokken and a few more dummies if we do a group order. I bought the Pintail which is one of the largest ones. Plus a couple of white dummies, couple of orange dummies to practice blinds, and a couple of black/white dummies for good measure All plastic, but want some more canvas ones, too.

Yes For training though, the real thing you use real birdies.

Hey fetchindawgs, I just googled what's in this video and it sounds great. If you own this video, is there any chance I could please borrow it sometime? Ruby's leg seems to be getting better so with any luck we'll be back at training in a few weeks! Still don't know what that is going to mean for me entering a trial this season. I may have left it too late once again, but I hope not!! I'm itching to get out there and give it a crack -
If the MDBA winner is PetPlan, I can give you a few stories of my own about them. But you are going to hear good stories and bad stories about all Insurance comapnies (not limited to pet ones). All comes down to individual experience and some get lucky, while others don't! I've got one dog with PetPlan and another with MediBank. Can't comment on MediBank as I haven't had to claim with them yet, and I won't have to! I do find I have paid quite a few vet bills that come under the excess amount so not worth claiming, and in the end I end up spending as much as I paid for my pet insurance on top of my premium in vet visits. I am wondering if RSPCA are actually worth switching to... sure their premiums are higher, but from what I remember, they are who to go with when you want to claim more of the little things. I originally got pet insurance to cover any of the big things that may happen, but starting to think the small things matter too because they all add up!!! Edit: I take it back about RSPCA - just a bit of a ripoff at a quick glance

mirawee - please let me know if you guys are going to both AM and PM ACWA trials. I will be nigel no friends so would like to join your camp again

You can do NFC once she has her JDO title - but you have to hold the title of the class you want to go NFC in :p However you then can't enter any other classes competitively so it wouldn't make much of a difference ;) Maybe RV could get Jenna's last AD leg Although I think the only trial we are going to is the ACWA one and I need to confirm with J and OzJen. Yes I figured that after I posted RV may just run Ruby in JDO anyway, and ignore the distance challenge. If my dogs continue to be broken, can I run Jenna?

Not that I've done this exercise, but I think this is a fantastic summation! -
Bugger! RV, we may need to readdress our upcoming agility plans... I had already thought we would be because Ruby's not 100% no stress I will still come down to cheer I wonder if NFC in JDO could be an option? ;) Anyone know if NFC is available for Open classes?? I'm hoping she'll be fine by the 18th/25th June, because we're dying to get back out there! Vet thinks so. Will be great to have your company, regardless But we'll make you have a run SOMEHOW, ok!!!!

I've just been informed by another WA'er that you can't run both at the same trial She can run NFC in JD or her standard JDX. That sucks when you want to help new handlers get out there when they currently don't have their own dog to run. The good thing about NFC is I am able to run her at a lower height if I want, so while the handler gets a chance to get out there and do a trial, the dog can run a lower height. Edit: JDO might be an option, but as the dog and handler are both fairly inexperienced, I don't want to push either of them in JDO. But I suppose if we ignore the distance challenge as it's NFC anyway, that might be an option -

Ruby has her JD title, and I want to enter her in JDX. But a friend has a dog who cannot do agility now because of lameness but she would love to get back into running some trials, so I offered her Ruby to run JD in NFC. Not to reward, but to give a handler a chance to run some courses, and Ruby is very easy to handle (not being overly fast and all) and most of all she is very obliging. She doesn't decide to run her own course (usually) -
Poor Toby Hoping the WA agility people can please help. It appears the Eastern Staters don't have the NFC rule for ANKC agility like we do here. If I am running a dog in say JDX, can the same dog enter JD but NFC, in the same trial?
