Thanks, CC, however not quite what I am after I like simple buckle collars (the ones that clip together) made out of webbing and with fabric or ribbon sewn on the top I'm finding nice ones on etsy, but nothing that matches my criteria of "same pattern, different colour"! You know, like my 2 different coloured Labs If I just had one dog to worry about, I could order just about anything!
-
I've been on the hunt for ages for new collars for my girls, but I can't find anything that matches! I am a fussy bugger. I want same pattern but different colour for them, but can I find what I'm after? Nooooooooo!! I'm not sure I am game enough to go for bling!

I think dumbing it down will reduce the numbers who continue onto higher classes. If it was made any easier, people wouldn't train as hard, come and get their CCD title, then bugger off cos the training to get higher is too hard. I'm looking forward to giving Rally a go tonight!

Im comparison on average, there have been probably under 10 dogs in Novice. The State trial there were a fair few more, probably 20-30 something dogs. Open is usually last ring standing here!
-
I don't know if it has changed recently but the Novice rings here seem to be the smallest class!! Usually the Novice judge has it easy bedazzledx2 is judging Novice tonight, so let's see if she gets away from judging duties quickly so she can come get drunk with us Yep I have noticed that but you still have titled dogs up against untitled ones

I'll most definitely need drinkies, cos I'm entered too!

I am in favour of this too Rubystar Any idea if it was ever proposed during the Rules review? I'm really surprised it's not already in existence.

Just rang Ranford Vets - they say they don't have the price for distemper on their system, but testing for parvo would be $88. Warton Rd Small Animal Hospital are $85 for parvo + distemper (including consult fee). Just need to call back VetWest, but I suspect Warton Rd are going to be cheaper considering it cost around $220 with VetWest including hepatitis!! I was tempted to call your vet Mas, but would rather not drive that far

I'm only 2 trialling dogs in, and still very inexperienced, but I will always do CCD. There is no rush to go straight to Novice, and it isn't demonstrating you are still a novice trainer if you do CCD. Just because it isn't your first time in the ring, it still is the dog's first time! I can't imagine going straight to Novice, getting 3 passes and all of a sudden you are competing in Open! The dog needs more ring experience before Open IMO. One thing I would love to see is the Open class split. Like Open A (for those who don't have their CDX title) and Open B (for those who do). Isn't this how it works in the US?

I'll have to watch this when I'm home, forgot last night! Glad Toby is a happy chappy Thanks everyone for the titre info Ptolomy, this is the first time I have titred so do I need the vet consult?

Wish I didn't have work tomorrow I want to sleep in, dammit!! Can anybody who has had their dogs titre tested please let me know how much it cost for them to test for parvo and distemper and the place you went? VetWest quoted around $220 per dog, but silly me asked for a quote including hepatitis so I need to ring back and ask how much just for the other 2. I still fear they are mighty expensive! I want to get the dogs done soon, so if you can help it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Sounds like an invatation to try out my new, red agility pup with some foundation stuff! And a great chance for you to pick on my footwork. Which red kid are you using?

I dunno, talking about Mason on a dog forum, that's a sin!! I think you are saying sorry to the wrong people We're all a little dog nutty ;) Wish my family understood ;) They used to, but skin kids came along and it was forgotten how important furkids can be to some... including them...

Woohoo go Mason!!! I want my girls to do modelling work, that way they can pay their own way for some things We will see what happens, they will only use him if something comes up for a black lab, if they ever need some yellow/choc labs I will tell them about Ruby and Millie too ;) Ruby is my photogenic girl

You can apparently get a smoother one these days, but I bet it has a price tag to match ;) A friend was saying you can get spray on stuff that looks like exposed aggregate and far cheaper, that might be an option. I was going to get my driveway spray painted to look like spray on paving, but not sure I want that anymore. I can live with the cement blocks under the patio, as ugly as they are, but it's the gap of black dirt that is driving me crazy and needing an easy way to clean up the leaves which led me to wanting the whole patio area redone. Raking the leaves out of the dirt is hard enough work as it is, hence it only getting done once every few months My dogs love the grass, they roll around on it and graze all day! They lived on pure pavers at mum and dad's for ages.
-
A roll of turf per person? Does she want 10 different types of grass growing in her backyard? I want to get my back patio area, the driveway, and the pathway that connects them both down the side of the house concreted (something like exposed aggregate...) but can't see it happening any time soon! For now, the back patio is full of those lovely square cement blocks and a strip between the patio and back fence is that lovely black dirt where it was once a garden (I removed all the ugly plants). I'd like to take the concrete right to the fence to rid the yard of that black dirt (where the dogs tear through it when chasing each other) and then put some pots there instead. Gotta be sturdy ones though, or the dogs will knock them over and break them! It would make my backyard so much nicer. I was going to put white rocks on top of the dirt but I have trees that drop horrible leaves and flowers pretty much all year round so it would be a pain to clean up with rocks! If I stay at this house and don't sell, I think I'll have to invest in the concrete. Now, anyone know anyone who can do that cheaply for me?

I will be in touch and will organise some training dates in January, while K9 is closed, for our Monday night mob Might even be able to do a wee little bit of agility ;) In your own private training rings? I'm also determined to get Millie weaving by end of January, who knows if it will happen, though While I am still training Ruby for obedience, I am stepping it down a touch with her to focus on retrieving and agility. I swear since starting agility with Ruby, her confidence in general has grown so much! I'm thankful I have Millie to do obedience with in the meantime, need my fix!

Happy Birthday, Lara!!! That $50 sounded like great value I hope RallyValley is going to take her into the Rally ring, as I think she'd love to be competing again, she's still got it!! Can she still jump? You should put her in an NFC Open or something!
-
Lets drink to that I'm in ;) Sounds like you've gained a lot of confidence back in the past few weeks, JulesP! Way to go! I'm so looking forward to this weekend, 2 trials woohoo And lots of :D and I'm looking forward to the new trialling year also where Millie will debut in Open I had a great training night with Millie on Monday, her Open exercises are just about there! My clever Moo needs to take Ruby aside and teach her how to do a SFE and DOR

I don't mean out there as in it's ages away, more so when you live alone it has the feeling of not being close by to other properties like regular suburbia with your standard sized blocks, so I wouldn't feel as safe as I'm a big sook. There would be a lot more darkness out there Yes the blocks are reasonably priced! I think I would move out there in a heartbeat if it wasn't just me...
-
Its a pity that I can't subdivide - about the best I could offer is for me to build a kennel and to lease it out to you on a permanent basis Kennel 10 can be called Rubystar's Home :D Would be perfect, except I'm looking to buy and not rent And living in a kennel sounds, um, cold? :D I'm looking out Roleystone way, but not keen on living on my own out there :D

Apparently Assistance Dogs has the added criteria that you can't already own more than 1 dog. Not sure if it's the same for Guide Dogs. Shame really, cos I would also love to puppy raise for Assistance Dogs as from what I read, the training is quite interesting and you get to do a lot of it yourself in that first year. I'd have a lot of fun with it! I love teaching things

Crossing fingers for you emery! Sounds wonderful. Any place that has lots of room for the dogs must be great! I've been looking at blocks for sale, I really want a decent sized block (for me that would be 1000-2000sqm) and to build a new house. I currently "own" an older home, which was what I was originally after ("character" with jarrah floorboards, fireplace, etc) but the yard is too small and now I want a new house Needed a bit of a lotto win to help that dream along I lie, I did win lotto - $12.20 - SCORE!!!

I didn't win the 10 mill last night, so had to come to work today
