  1. I may just spend my time watching people doing agility/jumping practice runs! I think you should enter What, for entertainment? Do you have to be a CAWA member to enter it? I don't think you have to be a member. It's just $2 a go. It starts at 7pm. Ptolomy and Bedazzled wrote an article about it in the canine news. Didn't you read yours RubyStar :D :D . Yes I read it, but I didn't memorise it ;) ;)

  3. Yep it's a practice trial ;) . This one has obedience, jumping and agility. It's being run by the ACWA to raise money for the nationals. What time is it on? Not sure if I'm be able to come :D If I do, not sure I will enter. Or I may just stick around for some group stays and maybe a SFE Not keen on a full round this time!
  4. Yup I feel like such a child. I'm nervous AND excited about tonight! Can't believe I'm actually getting round to joining. Wanted to join with Ruby 2 years ago but put it off, but now that I have Millie and can see she'd be a better agility prospect than Ruby (well, fingers crossed!), I'm biting the bullet! :D
  5. What class are you in? Any idea what class Millie and I will be in? Thanks :D
  6. Same... we've had limits for a long time. I just got an exemption from my council. Disgusting that puppy farmers are given the and genuine breeders are going to be hindered. Yep it's here and as some of you know when I had a whinge in the WA thread, my local council won't even offer you the chance to apply for an additional dog. It's flat out 2 dogs only, tough biccies, big middle finger to us, yada yada. Grrrr!!!! :D You might want to check out the For Sale / Real Estate section of DOL.. There's a half acre place in Kelmscott for sale at a pretty reasonable price . . . owner has had permission for several dogs . . . backs on parkland. Roughly $500,000. Thanks, but I'm not really in the position to move right now. Only just moved into this place last weekend! :D
  7. I thought about you today RubyStar as the Gosnells ranger drove past me on the freeway. He looked really smug. : I think it's time for you to move! Smug CoG ranger b*stards! I only moved into my house a week ago, I don't think moving is on the cards just yet! When I'm ready for my third dog, I will probably be ready to move so I will move to a council that aren't run by smug morons!!
  8. must be a rescue dog thing Ahh cool, I'd love to see it, what barrier do you have?
  9. I didn't end up getting anything. Hyundai make their own cargo barriers but I have the Elite model with the curtain airbags, so legally, they can't install the barrier in my model because of the airbags! Instead, I just either make Millie's harness extra tight so she can't wriggle out of it and seat jump, or I fold the back seats down so the dogs have more room and she has no way of jumping on the seats! So basically, I'm just making do Do you have the same car?

  11. Hi Amypie thanks for the info unfortunately I have a prior committment tomorrow night, do you know if they would accept anyone joining the following week? Merlin has had his shots and has just been sterilized. He is a blue merle sheltie Oh how cute is Merlin! Welcome to DOL!
  12. Thanks RosieFT (eek I keep forgetting your real name! My bad ) The pot plants won't help me, my Labs are a bit bigger than a foxie hehe Hey if your hubby ever feels like getting handy and making a few bob, can he make me a see saw too? Will I see you down at agility tomorrow night? Please come and rescue me if you see me and I look lost and confused!!! The same goes for Amypie and ozjen, you guys, keep an eye out for me cos I am scared of signing up for new things!!
  13. Thanks for the videos on this! I'm an agility noob that I don't even know what most of the terminology means, but wanting to start training so videos showing things are always good!
  14. Thanks ;) Common sense was going to say BC, but the colour threw me!! Thanks for not laughing at me like that rude, rude ness person did!! Amber's a real cutie pie
  15. She is a STUNNER! Can't wait to see her coat as she grows. ;) Oh my goodness how cute is she!!!! I am going to sound really, really dumb here and probably slap myself once I find out - but what breed is she?
  16. Shall I bring my laptop to training tonight Ptolomy and show you? That's if you're going tonight?
  17. I read that and still fear I won't be able to do it
  18. I told you I'd give you a lesson on Windows Movie Maker and YouTube, you just need to book me in
  19. I cheated - I found somebody to train my last dog for me - made life real easy Rat - really if you have no previous experience you really are better off joining ACWA on a Tuesday night - and then practice what you learn at home. I made a squillion jumps out of PVC - gees they look good, even if I do say so myself, and if I can make them then anybody can. My son also helped make me an A-frame and I bought a see-saw and weavers. There are lots of DVD's on the market too which may help - but as I said for the first term I would suggest ACWA (says she who is not a member - ooops) The agility bug hasn't stopped biting me so I'm taking the plunge and joining ACWA with Millie on Tuesday That might get in the way of training Ruby (obedience) on Tuesdays though, eek ;) Unless I start early and do some obedience before agility I need lessons on making jumps!
  20. Thanks guys Man I am gonna look so lost there I know the grounds well, but signing up for something new makes me nervous
  21. Woohoo Yeah soon I will be one of those crazies who shops on CR every week Millie doesn't have a huge toy drive, only for her i-squeak :p I don't think things in her mouth, like tuggies, are comfortable for her. But she does love it when I play with her and get her worked up... No no, I'll just use yours when you move over You should do a lesson or two with Sue. She will give you some ideas for you to take home and then you can find a club further down the track. Not sure I'd want to bother Sue just yet ;) Do you think a club is not a good idea to learn some basics? Think I'll join ACWA if I do join one as I heard they are good for beginners. I'm not interested in a club that is quick to string sequences together before the dog knows the equipment properly.
  22. Thanks for the tips and DVD recommendations everyone Is circle work where you practice running them in inside and outside circles and in opposite directions?
  23. She's obsessed with my left side Think I've been reinforcing that heel position thoroughly with her I once tried heeling Ruby on my right and she looked so confused the poor dear, she ended up taking herself back to my left side So that is something I can work on!
  24. Thanks for the agility replies everyone I had a look at the ACWA website last night and saw enrolments are this Tuesday. Do you need to bring your dog down for an assessment then? Where do I go? Any other agility newbies wanna join with me?
