He does have a management system in place at the moment they are separated in two different areas of the yard. But sometimes guests walk on through and leave gates open. Can anyone suggest a good behaviorist or trainer so he can get his leadership skill in tact.

Hey Guys my friend owns 2 rottweilers both female one is aged 2 or 3 and the other is 12 months younger. He rescued the younger the one from a neglected family reason being for having 2 females. The situation is- in their own yard they have be to separated, the older female will fight with the younger one specially when himself or his mother or just any person is around. However when they are away from the yard like at the beach or even out the front on leads they are fine and have no problems. They are fed together also with no problems. They both have no problems with other dogs. He did have a behaviorist come out and he just said you have to train her the "Leave" command. To me that sounds stupid. She is an obedient dog that knows the usual commands. And it sounds like the behaviorist made the situation worse just $500 less in the pocket. My friend is leaving for the mines in November and doesn't want to leave his mother with the constant supervision of the 2 dogs. Any suggestions on what it is and how to maybe solve it?

Boss is the exact same, I sometimes call him a loser because he hardly plays with other dogs he just wanders around the park sniffing every tree by himself. The only other dog he played with was our other dog who has passed away. I don't think it means they aren't socialized. They are independent, I'd rather my dog like this then a overly excited dog that jumps on every one and their dog.

What an idiot! Seriously you were a lot nicer then I would have been... Yesterday at the park I took Boss man to an off leash park he was there by him self. Then a man and his 2 dogs showed up. A SWF and an older staffy. Boss loves to play so he prances over to them and the SWF starts barking growling and chasing him..... Boss runs off tail between legs. I must admit it was a little funny but if that were my dog doing it to his SWF I am sure I would have been given a mouth full. Let alone the older staffy started humping boss while we were trying to leave

Its a great feeling to know your home is safe when you are away. I had a man fixing the drive way one day, and as you do he need some water to finish up. Up he walks to the tap unbeknown to him that's where Boss's favorite stand and watching hidey hole is, boss comes running down barking and carrying on (behind a fence of course) THEN my cat hears the commotion so he comes running out he starts hissing and swiping at the poor fellow.... poor fella didn't get the job finished till my farther arrived home.

If you are local to me we can arrange pick up otherwise send donations to my address. Once I have collected things I will take them to the AWL. I will post photos and hopefully make it a day they are holding a sausage sizzle or fund raiser and get photos with some of the furkids.

Hello Everyone!!! I have decided to collect some items to donate to the AWL Shelter on the gold coast. I know these times are hard for a lot of people but I am not just only looking for dog/cat items. I will be doing a drop off in a month or so depending on how much stuff I have collected for them. I will be accepting the following for both cats and dogs. All shapes and sizes!!! - Coats - Towels - Collars/Leads - Food - Toys Preferably food to be sealed. Bedding is not necessary as the dogs tend to chew them and have to much fun with them. Towels would be great as the AWL takes their dogs to the beach 3 times a week for a run and operate a Dog wash on Saturdays to raise funds. I know Snowysal ran a coat drive around this time last year so its been a year and I know how things can accumulate so quickly.... So dig deep into your cupboards and spare a thought for the little lives in this shelter. If you are interested please PM me and I will give you my address details. Anything would be most appreciated

Funny habits or quirks: he sleeps in the most awkward positions and I don't understand how it could be comfy? He pokes his head out the window every evening waiting for me to come home from work, the best welcoming from a crappy day at work. What's their personality like? He is a happy boy, love his mummmy (ME ) very much. Very loyal, goofy still doesn't know how to get up the stairs without tripping over his legs and face planting the floor. ;) he just HAS to be around me when I am home he is like an annoying smell that doesn't go away, except he isn't that annoying. Do they get along well with other dogs? Yes he does all shapes and sizes Are they scared of anything? Nope he isn't scared of anything thankfully. What training methods do you use? Positive reinforcement? Corrections? I thankfully did alot of training with him when he was younger and was very fast learner. I just use the deep stern NO if he does something wrong. He doesn't need much of training we just have to work on the over excitement of when the lead comes out or when I get home and knocks me over. OH and standing on my feet!!! Far out that hurts!!
