  1. Great photos! Poor little Ringo being woken up to have a photoshoot. You're lucky he doesn't insist on at least $10,000 before he gets out of bed.
  2. Can we please see some before and afters? Is anyone who uses these post photography programs willing to show us what your pics look like straight off the camera? I am curious to see just how much better they make them.
  3. How do you get the black border around your pics, I like it.
  4. wow that's a big move Polomum. great pics everyone, I spend most of my time in photography these days. cant seem to drag myself away.
  5. amazing photos everyone, how good is that bat one, so clear and sharp and close!
  6. I am a beginner too Iltby and I kept seeing these amazing photos where the subject is so sharp it could cut but the background was beautifully out of focus, I've since learned the word is "bokeh" :D . I've always loved the look of a shallow depth of field so they really appeal to me. then the ones in the know here started saying it was this lens and with not too much agonising over it I just had to go get one. I've got alot to learn, and today I have been going back to my kit lenses to force myself to not just play with my new 50mm but I have to say I am thrilled with it and so glad I got it.
  7. Here's some more of my crazy boy Puck and his bro Tag It was all happening pretty fast so not the best focus, but they show his fun personality. well if you wont chase me I'm gonna dig this hole, I dare you to take it off me!
  8. Yep, same here. I think when I was pricing them HN offered it for $134?? I might have written it in a post. I will check for you. found it, $136 was the best. maybe you can use that as a bargaining point. good luck http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=153041
  9. wow, what a versatile lens! love the action shot but the arty ones are just a good and Ruthless yes post them, I just hoped everyone would post all the different pics this lens can take. I think those ones of yours are the kind that influenced me to buy this lens. see here my Puck, I think even had yours in mind when I took this.
  10. Oh Terranik they're lovely. I really like the first one. Mine are almost always dogs too, that's why I posted the flower shots, cause I've posted nearly all the dog ones here already!
  11. Oi! watch it dammit, I tried to import some really violent emotis but they didn't work, otherwise you'd be deadybones!
  12. Umm, it wasn't cheap but I figured I'd be using it alot and I'd heard the 1.8 was a bit light and flimsy, plus I had some money that a dear friend had given me a couple of years ago that she wanted me to put towards my arty hobbies. I'd been hanging onto it all this time so decided to put it towards this lens. I am not rich.
  13. So many of us have these beautiful lenses now, I know I was largely influenced by the brilliant photographs I've seen here. some of you should get a commission from the camera shops I reckon. anyway how about us newbies posting some of our pics here in one thread. These were all taken the day I got it. Oh yeah, I haven't even shot in RAW as yet, suppose I should start someday, for some reason I am a bit intimidated, I dont know what to expect.
  14. so, in the last 2 or 3 weeks who's just gone and bought a 50mm 1.4 or 1.8 all because of the stunning pics we've seen here to make us drool. Hands up Me, a Canon 50mm 1.4
  15. so what lens is this you've just bought? I've lost track. My fave is the second pic, he looks very thoughtful doesn't he.
  16. dunno yet, still trying to learn how to use my camera. I love the 50mm with that shallow depth of field that captures personality in their eyes but I also love and have yet to capture the intensity and emotion of the chase. I couldn't say it's my style because I haven't achieved it yet but it is the reason I bought my camera. Although I find as I am learning more, I am wanting more.
  17. this sounds absolutely heartbreaking. My whippet Penny was diagnosed with anal furunculosis when she was a puppy, but if this is what it is then she was misdiagnosed, and it sounds like it was a good thing. She seemed to have an ulcerated patch on her anus which cleared up with anitbiots, and maybe cream, I cant remember now, but thankfully it wasn't an ongoing problem.
  18. they've just been pulled. I was looking at them and suddenly poof! gone, invalid. good thing methinks
  19. How did you get a response so quickly I reported it yesterday and just got the standard message back.
  20. by the lack of bids we're not the only ones who are wary.
  21. He hasn't replied to my question as to whether he accepts Paypal. If I thought it was safe I probably would be tempted by these, they sure a cheap but I think they're too risky.
  22. Yeah a few things about this set off alarm bells for me although it might just be a real bargain, who knows. I also decided to report him for saying bank deposit only although it was rather hard cause they only give you certain options and none really covered what he was doing. I doubt I will hear back from him before the auction ends.
  23. I've asked if he accepts paypal, I am not in the market to buy, just curious.
