Jesie will be 3 years in November. I'm reluctant to do the surgery unless its absolutely unavoidable and luckily my vet feels the same. Currently she gets some kibble (maybe a 1/4 cup), chicken necks and bones. We were using vegies aswell cause I have a fat beagle but they both seem to have gone off their vegies.

Jesie was taken to the vets on the 16th August cause her bottom had a coppery smell. My vet expressed her anal glands and oh my lord there was alot that came out. And the stink! Anyway last night we went back to the vet as she had the smell again and dragged her bottom on the floor the other night. After expressing her glands again the vet said that they weren't as bad as last time but they weren't great either. He suggested a high fibre diet for Jesie and also mentioned that if we haven't seen any improvment then our next step was removal of the anal glands. I'd like to avoid an operation if I can so I'm after suggestions for a high fibre diet. She's a bit of a fussy eater aswell which makes things just that little bit harder! When it comes to meat she will eat anything chicken (as long as it isn't a frame) but isn't so keen on red meat unless its cooked! Bloody Princess. Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks claire

Jesie is always busy, running, barking, jumping, stirring up her sister, dropping George the duck at my feet to be thrown. When she sleeps she runs in her dreams, her little feet are forever twitching and running. Jodie will occasionally play with a toy but 90% of the time she is wedged inbetween me and OH snozzing! However everynight at 7:30 Jesie and Jodie have playtime. They both go bonkers trying to eat each other all over the house! Its sounds like 50 dogs are attacking each other!

Your puppy and kids are just devine! Congrats on the new residence and enjoy that feeling of security.

I'm in Frankston too and no dogs are not allowed off leash unless it is a designated off leash area. There are heaps of people walking around the streets of Frankston with their dogs off leash and they just dont care. Complain to Frankston council. I did about 12 months ago and I noticed a ranger patrolling the area for a while. It worked.

Jodie Anne aka Pudding or Evil Beagle is my Beagle X English Cocker Spaniel. She's pretty much all Beagle except for the colouring. She is the sweetest thing ever however she is also the naughtiest dog ever!! She has recently turned 2 years old. She is definately a Mummy's girl and she knows exactly when I need a cuddle. She's a bit heavy as a lap dog though!

I have a cocker and beagle, they get on fantastic. The cocker loves all dogs. The beagle is only interested in other gundogs

OH gets the dogs. However if something happens to both of us then my sister gets the house cause she also gets the dogs. I discussed this with her before I got my first dog and she agreed to it. I know she would treat them exactly how I'd like and love them as much as I do. She's the best sister in the world

My two snuggle but not all the time. Jesie gets really hot so she usually goes off by herself. JoJo however feels the cold and loves to snuggle with everyone and everything!!

My evil beagle is a licker. She is soooo bad!!! I have never seen a tongue stretch so far just to try and lick your face!! She will sit on your lap and lick at your face for hours on end if you let her! I dont but sometimes OH will if he's just about to get in the shower. Its soooo disgusting My cocker very rarely licks and if she does its usually one or two licks on the hand

My cocker's Registered name is Tavva Rock Queen, we call her Jesie or Scruffy Pants. Her call name has nothing to do with her Registered name but we dont show, she's just a pet. Mind you the queen part in her registered name suits her, she thinks she's royalty! :p

Glad to hear things are improving Baf! My cocker was pretty easy to train, it was me who needed the most training! I had never trained a dog in my life and unfortunately I gave Jesie a few bad habits. Have been able to train her out of them though!

I'm unsure of who the leader is between my two. Sometimes is Jesie and other times it Jodie. Jodie goes to Jesie for affection and cuddles. She goes to Jesie if she is unsure about something and she tries to steal Jesie's food. Jesie goes to Jodie for playtime and thats about it. Mine have had one or two spats. Nothing serious. Jesie cracked it with Jodie for the first time ever. Totally freaked me out but was over in seconds. They went back to normal straight away however I needed a Valium!!!!

Knowing my JoJo she'd eat the bloody brick!!

Thanks Miranda I'll have a look for one. Oakway the vegies aren't whole. They are boiled and then mashed. She is little tubby and we are trying to get some weight off her. She's almost down to the right weight so we have slowly been increasing the amount of meat versus vegie. She would happily eat a whole carrot raw if I let her but all vegies are cooked and mashed.

I have had 2 out of 3 get it at the same time. Oddly, the one who didn't was the one who hadn't been vaccinated against it for many years (as she had a reaction the first time I gave her the vac.) The other 2 who caught it had yearly vaccs. None was seriously ill. Both dogs had been vaccinated, thats why I thought it was so strange that they didn't both get it

JoJo has breakfast and dinner but doesn't get any dry food. In the morning she gets vegies and 2 necks and at dinner time she gets vegies and raw meat. She's just a little pig! My cocker get the same and she eats like a little lady! They are fed seperately aswell because if I didn't then JoJo would push Jesie (cocker) out of the way for her bowl!

Hi Guys, I'm after some suggestions please. My beagle X, JoJo is a terribly fast eater. Always has been. Its not really been a problem until lately. She's started eating that fast that afterwards she will throw her dinner back up and the chicken necks I've given her are coming up whole! She's not even bothered to chew them at all, just swallowed. I was thinking I could start cutting the necks up into pieces but was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions?

My cocker spaniel got kennel cough last year but my beagle didn't! Was really strange as I thought becauase one had it the other would definately get it. Bloody awful it is aswell. My cocker is such a happy little thing, always on the go. Was horrible to see her just lying there feeling so ill. Best of luck
