  1. SB we're sticking to the BARF now. If she wont eat it too bad she goes hungry. Everyone keeps tellimg what gobbledocks Cockers are. Jesie must be broken! The evil beagle would eat poo if I put it in her bowl! LOL She's not fussy at all. But Madame Fussy Pants is more of a challenge. Its a good thing she is totally adorable!
  2. Madam is on the chicken BARF patties and the evil beagle is having beef BARF patties. Madam is actually her daddy's little girl! She has him totally wrapped round her paw! Ok maybe me aswell! A picture as requested
  3. Some success! I've bought the BARF patties. Madam Fussy pants has eaten half a patty last night and another this morning. She should be eating 2 patties a day but I'm happy as long as she eats anything at this stage.
  4. Madam Fussy ate mackerel last night for dinner. However she wouldn't touch her breaky this morning! When I put her breaky down this morning she looked at me like I was the anti christ. At least she ate dinner. Bloody dogs
  5. Thanks guys, She went to the vet 2 weeks ago as she had weepy eyes. He did a check up then and found nothing else. She didn't eat dinner last night and wouldn't touch her breaky today. I'm getting to my wits end!!!! CL - I'll try the chicken stock kibble and see if that works. Bloody dogs
  6. MTD - I know its really weird but she has never been food driven. The beagle on the other hand! Jesie wont touch dry food either. Poodlefan - she's 3 years old. I feed her a small amount in the morning and another larger amount in the evening. She receives a treat if she has behaved while the humans are eating dinner. Thats it, no other food. She weighs 8.6kilo and I am desperately trying to get weight on her as she needs to be about 9.2 to 9.8kilo. She looks too skinny and she feels it right now. Keeping weight on my cocker has always been a problem. Its that much harder when she wont eat anything. She runs around 24/7 aswell, never stops.
  7. She's 3 and she's always been the same. I left it once and the little bugger didn't eat for 9 days!!! She does my head in sometimes
  8. Hi guys, I'm after some suggestions. My cocker is terribly fussy when it comes to food. She won't go anywhere near vegies or fruit, hates kangaroo, doesn't like turkey necks and has started turning her nose up at chicken necks which is the one food I've always been able to get her to eat!! So far I've tried all of the below with only short term success: Chicken frames Ground chicken frames Butchers ground and cooked pet mince Boiled and raw beef mince Boiled and raw chicken mince Any raw meat except a small bone I know she'll eat boiled chicken thigh but I can't just give her that and nothing else! Help!!!!! I've run out of idea's.
  9. Wish my two were like that! If I walk to the bench that is 5 steps from my front door and then come back in they go bonkers!!!!!!
  10. trust a beagle! my evil beagle ate an entire packet of natural confectionary company fruit chews the other day. she was rather ill. yesterday she tried to eat my 2 carat engagement ring as i was passing it to OH!!! she could have been one dead dog!
  11. We see Jan (male not female) at Beach Street Vet Clinic and I cant praise him highly enough. They are in Frankston. He is just fantastic. Last year my cocker had kennel cough and even though there wasn't alot he could do he really put my mind at ease. he's helped me with getting weight off my fat/evil beagle and also helped with my cockers diet when she was having anal gland issue's. We are moving the the Dandenong's next year but i will still be travelling back to Frankston to see Jan as I trust him so very much
  12. Both my dogs always slept on the bed. when I moved house a baby gate went up at my bedroom door and they have their own single bed (human size  ). I felt horrible at first but soon realised I wasn't having as many back problems. My cockers greets me at the baby gate each morning with a happy yap and lots of cuddles coz she missed her mama and I feel horrible for about 10 seconds. However some nights when its cold I wonder if I should let them in. My beagle is great for keeping feet warm on a cold night!!
  13. They all look pretty scared witless to me, besides the Kelpie.
  14. Friend of mine posted on facebook that her bitch had a boyfriend over and they were hoping for puppies. I rang her and asked all about her prefix, health tests, lineage, etc. I was really excited for her. Then I realised she had no idea, wasn't registered and was doing it because she thinks her dog is so awesome. I was furious! I'm not a breeder and I dont know alot about it but I explained a few things to her that i had learned from DOL. She didn't care. Luckliy her bitch hated the "boyfriend" and within a few minutes they were trying to kill each other. The mating never happened and she hasn't tried again. Hopefully its stays that way
  15. Before joining DOL I had no idea what a puppy farm was, had never even heard of one. I'm not a fan of Dr Chris Brown, never have been but I think he did an excellent job on that story. I told work mates yesterday to watch the segment. This morning we have all been talking about it and pretty much all of them said "I didn't know that's what you meant when you told us about puppy farms!" All have been shocked and horrified. Even in my work place that segment has opened alot of eyes and made many people aware of the situation.
  16. Thank DOG! Bet you dont get much sleep tonoght!
  17. :D to you and yours. Come on Mia, you can do it girl!!
  18. Desperately waiting on news. Fingers crossed for a good outcome. Come on Mia!!!! Beagles are tuff little critters and I just know you can pull though
  19. A couple of years ago Mum and I were out walking my cocker when we approached a guy with a dog. We asked if his dog was friendly and if we could say hello, he said yes it wasn't a problem. Our dogs go up to each other for a sniff and his dog latches onto my cocker's belly!!! I was freaking furious. He says yeah sorry he does that sometimes! Ummm hello, dont say the dog is friendly if its not! Luckily my cocker is just too happy to let it get to her. However I will always remember
  20. Awwwwww he's sooooo adorable!!! And those big fluffy paws! Devine
  21. There's Frankston Dog Obedience Club which holds classes every Saturday from 1pm but they'd need to get there at about midday to register. Classes are held at the oval between the tip and the soccer club. There's also Mornington and Hastings Dog Clubs.
