  1. Well Starkhere is an MDBA member and Im very proud to say so. Oh wow, Steve, just saw this. Thank you so much... blushes :)
  2. It is lovely down here on the peninsula, where we have two different bays both within minutes from us and lots of park and bushland. Very spoilt. Thank you, she is a pretty special girl. I just adore her so much.
  3. Nawww, thanks DDD. I am super proud and so appreciative. If it wasn't for my wonderful mentor I never would have had the opportunity to own Seven or the chance to use her wonderful stud dog to sire this litter.
  4. Sorry BR, I bought them from a friend. I believe she imported them, but I don't remember where from.
  5. All normal. This breeder has done nothing wrong. To help you understand, imagine the puppy was a car. when you purchase a used car it may be registered, but it won't be registered in your name, you still have to transfer the registration into your name. Now to go one step further, even if the breeder was in one of the states where she could transfer or register the puppy directly into your name from the get go, you still would have had to become a member of your state canine council before she could do that. You have not at all been mislead. Puppies are typically not microchipped until at least 6 weeks of age, breeders must take their time to select which puppy/ies they will run on for themselves, other prospective show homes and so on before the pets are allocated. From your description she has done this in a very timely fashion, faster than many breeders. Breeders explain so much to puppy owners. It is not up to them to mind read exactly how much info you know regarding registration and how much you don't know. She has no doubt been busy offering you a lot of helpful information on how to raise, train and feed your puppy the right way. It is a shame that you have jumped to this conclusion, rather than asked questions in a humble fashion or check with the breeder. I am sure if you asked her she would be very happy to explain exactly what has been explained here. CAR and council registration are separate registries again. Council registration is always 100% up to the new owner. CAR can be transferred by the breeder or by the new owner, no rules about which was it should be done, whichever the breeder chooses. All the very best with your new puppy
  6. Hi animallover99. sorry it has taken me so long to get back. Having two puppies and a business to catch up is extremely challenging :D DDD I attempted to get the video of Legend doing the frog dog on the treadmill last night. Unfortunately (fortunately LOL) he has grown and strengthened and decided he could stand up whilst the belt was moving, so he is too clever for my funny video attempt. Anyway, here is what we got. You get the idea before he stands up and turns around. This morning's trip out - some of these are a bit repetitive, sorry :D Seven Legend's first go on sheep from a couple of weeks ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZAPJ9kN8ss Dance watching birds, a few weeks ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iDge7UxL1Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbObVqWXXJs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjBX5CPHrnE
  7. Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. That said, it does sound as though you have been one of the lucky ones. That is an extremely low count, but to have her platelet count lift like that without transfusions is an excellent sign. Once a dog has to start on the transfusion path it is much harder work and the odds of survival drop significantly. Definitely worth fighting for and you may never see it again. Have they scanned her thoroughly for any tumours or to find some primary reason? Once a drop is mostly out of the woods, the next biggest issue is stomach ulcers for all the drugs and malnutrition from nausea. Again though this has been a very quick improvement for your girl so she is unlikely to be so negatively impacted from the drugs I would imagine. I wish you all the very best.
  8. Me I've had two dogs with it. Dreadful disease and mortality rate is extremely high whether treated or not, depending on how low the platelet count gets and other factors. What do you want to know Wazzat? Please don't tell me you have a dog diagnosed with it?
  9. And Malcolm. :D I love the picture of Lola manding. Which puppy was it who manded to the speaker? That cracked me up. Scott and Malcolm I once knew a Colin and an Alan. Here is Lola and Ally again. Oh the pup manding to the speaker was yellow boy who is Packer. Just now we introduced the remaining 3 puppies to the treadmill. OMG I nearly wet my pants. shame we didn't have a third person to video as we needed all hands on deck. Set on the slowest speed, Legend was first to climb on. He reached for the treat, leant his chest on and just let the rest of his chubby body follow, ending up in frog dog position. He travelled all the way to the end like that, no attempt to stand u. OH eased him off at the other end, by which time he had finished his treat. So, he trots around to me at the front again... rinse and repeat. He thought this was a tremendous game, but ironically the only workout was him trotting to the front of the treadmill on the ground bahaha. It wasn't until the 4th time that he finally stood up on the treadmill. he turned around once part way along and walked right to the front and started walking as if he had been using it all his 9 weeks of life. all 3 of them got on and had a little walk up and down. Not one sign of apprehension. They all thought it was great fun will try and get a video of it this week.
  10. The world can always do with more dedicated and responsible Rotti owners :D Steve has just left today. Bless his cotton sox being called Steve LOL... but it is cute. He had his dry bath, ears cleaned and off he went. I cry every time. Poor owners, I hate upsetting them We took the 4 remaining puppies to the beach late yesterday arvo. It certainly was a juggling act, but they had a ball. Can't wait to take mind back when the others are gone. Seven will be dying for a nice swim too :) Some piccies of Steve and his new owner and also one of Lola manding for her new playmate.
  11. That's fantastic SG, would have been extremely rewarding. It would be an excellent idea for all shelters to adopt such protocols. I am guessing time and funds would be an issue.
  12. Great, more P/C breeders SC, that's fantastic. such excellent news. I hope she gets herself on the map soon :) Yes, only 5 here now mate. Getting quieter and more manageable LOL. Another one leaving tomorrow and sunday.
  13. I found the link to the world Puppy Culture breeder map https://www.puppyculture.com/breeder-location-map.html Unfortunately as you will see there are still only currently two P/C breeders here in Australia. I was the first and now there is a Border Collie breeder in Tasi. I believe there will be more soon. :)
  14. My first close up encounters with Rotties was as a volunteer dog walker at a small Sydney pound. Everyone should have that experience. Such beautiful dogs .... I would love one when all my littlies have gone to God, but I will be too old Will become a foster carer, though. :) :) I'm so close to conversion too but I'm not sure a rottie is a good fit for me. But between this thread (where I have fallen in love with the in depth puppy raising method. If there is a listing of breeders of any type who go these extra miles I would jump on that...) and the two ppl I know currently with darling rottie puppies I have entertained thoughts and the odd day dream! Still better you choose your suited breed rather than just a raising protocol, tho I do understand exactly here you are coming from :) Puppy Culture have a world map that shows Puppy Culture breeders from around the world. I tried to find the link for you but I couldn't... hopeless with these things LOL. Nothing wrong with asking your chosen breeder to look into adopting the Puppy Culture protocols on raising puppies, however it is very very full on and not something that many breeders would choose to add to their already busy time.
  15. Seven is really amazing and sensible AL. Yeh, she is perfectly fine with her puppies going. She just treats them with nurturing and lessons while they are here and when they go, they go, she's fine with that... someone elses problem then  Lol is a beauty. If not for her pretty average topline, she would be in a show home for sure. She is a stunner and a replica (bitch version) of her dad, Bomber.
  16. It's a shame you don't feel you could own a Rotti later on. As long as you are reasonably fit and strong, age shouldn't come into it too much. I have a 69 year old single girlfriend who is looking at getting another one soon. Still, foster caring is a fantastic idea. there certainly are plenty of Rottis in rescue. good on you You guys are all very sweet and kind with your compliments. Believe me, I feel I could have done a lot more and really wanted to, but unless I had an extra pair of hands and was a bit younger myself, I simply did as much with these babies as I could. Another beautiful girl left today, Lola. bless her cotton socks, she was such a favourite. My husband has shed a tear or two(as discretely as he could of course) as he had grown quite fond of Lola. She is such a character. she plays tug by holding the toy in her mouth and laying down, the others have to do all the work and end up dragging her along the ground  She sits on her siblings instead of tackling them and she liked to follow OH around when he was home. We will miss her cute teddy bear face and her nickname was "Huge Angry Dots" or "Food Whore" Piccies of Lola and her lovely new owner Billie And as I promised AnimalLover, a photo of Seven today who has self weaned her puppies from her by renegotiating their relationship to one of play. Amazing to see. Such a sensible and fantastic mum
  17. Thanks so much Animallover. I will take a photo of Seven's lovely face especially for you tomorrow :)
  18. I sure am SG. They are so amazing, really happy with how they are maturing and grasping life so far. 2 puppies left last night, 7 still here, with 5 going over the next week or so They all look so gorgeous. It will be hard letting them go. May they all have long happy and healthy lives. You and Seven have given them a great start Starkehre. :) Thanks so much Lab Tested. It is hard letting them go. today was the most difficult so far because this was the first owner that was a complete stranger to me prior to this. that said we have become quite friendly and we get along great. I am very happy for the new owners and the puppies and extremely happy with all my chosen homes. It's just an emotional moment, like cutting the apron strings and putting complete trust in someone elses hands. It's scary, really scary. but you know you have to do and just try and trust the decisions you've made. :)
  19. Hi Tintin Jac. :) Long time no chat. Gosh that was such a long time ago wasn't it. And thank you, yes you do know what Dyz meant to me. It has been a very difficult time. These babies have been a welcome distraction for sure. Please feel very welcome to contact me for a visit and puppy cuddle, it would be terrific to see you :) How are the dogs going? .. and two legged family members also of course :D The third puppy left today, there were tears But apparently she slept all the way home in the car and has settled in really well already.
  20. What's unethical about leaving your dog's entire?? I don't get why you describe not desexing as unethical.
  21. Starkehre Neverending Story at 8 weeks old. Just adore this little girl. She is in a great home with a dear friend. :)
  22. I sure am SG. They are so amazing, really happy with how they are maturing and grasping life so far. 2 puppies left last night, 7 still here, with 5 going over the next week or so OMG!! You will be wandering around feeling lost. On the other hand, you know what an awesome time you have had with them and the love you have put into their introduction to the world and, hopefully, take enormous pride in that. You are absolutely right DDD. And seeing I am running on two, I doubt I will get a chance to be lost LOL. I am proud. Honestly I wanted to do even more with them, but sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day. I was so amazed at how responsive they were with Chris yesterday. They will work for anyone.
