Hrm, I can't quite tell if she is gorgeous, beautiful or divine just yet. I think I need to see some more photos. (But I do just want to stare into those lovely eyes all day...)

What Don't Most People Know About Your Breed?

And nor is my liver and white GSP a "chocolate dalmation"... -
He's gorgeous!! Congratulations, and lucky Ivy having such a spunky boy to hang out with.

So glad to see you've still got Emma and OH has forgiven you, though sounds like you worked hard to fix it all up. Emma's looking gorgeous, I'm sure butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. Good luck keeping your cars (and car cover) intact!

Pepper's now 17 months old, and still a nutter (as the vet called her last week). An absolute handful as a puppy and it did cross my mind that we'd done the wrong thing, but in hindsight, not really that bad. Toilet training was a breeze. The biteys didn't last long. I only lost 3 pairs of shoes and only 2 pairs of trousers pulled off the line were irreparable. Most of the naughty stuff happened as she started getting older (and it's still happening!) But as she matures, Pepper is becoming a lovely snugglebum, and I couldn't be without her. I want another puppy (how quickly we forget, lol), but DH is still getting over the last one. So it'll be some years yet until Pepper gets a baby brother

Very sad to hear about the loss of gorgeous Gherkin. Thinking of you Dotty.

Vent - 2 Unleashed Dogs On Our Walk Tonight
Pepper and Jax replied to MsKatie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I immediately thought of those fences with the rollers on them that are meant to stop cats leaving your yard. I'd like to see the kids stay up on the top of the fence with those on there. But probably not as cheap as chilli powder -
What a gorgeous boy! So pleased you busted him out of there. Come and join us in the GSP thread. And yes, we all love photos

Designer Dog. One of the words use to describe the "Labradoodles" of the world... made up breeds. -
Welcome to the forums, and what a lovely boy you've got! Please come and visit us in the GSP thread and keep up those gorgeous photos

We were very lucky... only street in our suburb that didn't lose power, and OH got home to bring Pepper inside before it hit. She didn't even seem to notice that there was wild weather going on outside. I got stuck in the office til the storm blew out though, then when I left I had to sit at the train station for 40 minutes before the train was able to move (signals were out). Glad I had a good book. Hope everyone is ok... knocked out by a hail stone isn't very fair!

You've just made me realise that although Pepper is a skilled locksmith, I'm sure she would much prefer a job that involves riding a (built in) pogo stick to entertain the crowds.

I'm a project manager (government). Pepper would work in demolition, or perhaps as a locksmith.

I recall trying to get some pjs last year and found kickatinalong to be unresponsive to emails. Hope you get a good response If not, I'm sure DoLers can and will help.

One of my cats ignores Pepper, and she generally accepts that and leaves Misha alone. But the other cat has what you could call a "special" relationship with her. It's not as cute as your photos though (very jealous!) Pepper and Tonto's special relationship goes like this: P - where's the cat where's the cat where's the cat T - *strolls over to where Pepper can see him and cleans himself* P - there's the cat there's the cat there's the cat... oooh, I'm sooooo excited! *tail wags, nose pressed against kitty, bit of slobber on his head, etc* T - she's annoying me. she's annoying meeeeeeee! (insert cranky meow here) *brings out a claw and gets it stuck in Peppers jowls* P - he moved! Wow! this is exciting! *tail wags* T - why hasn't she been put outside yet? *throws something on the floor* *runs under a chair/table* P - *runs after the cat* woo hoo! chasey! *crashes into chair/ table* Pepper gets put outside, or Tonto gets locked in a bedroom. If Pepper goes out, I swear Tonto's saying "ner ner, got you in trouble". Yet Pepper loves him to bits anyway (we're mildly scared that it will be "to bits" if he keeps running from her, and instinct kicks in). Gorgeous photos. Thanks for the "awwwwww" moments.

Aww, that's sweet of the road crew! Totally different reaction from my girl. The first traffic cones we ever passed while out walking were very threatening and got a good talking to before we were able to move on. Thankfully Pepper's a bit more relaxed about them now.

I am still finding bits of exploded pillow in our back yard... several weeks after the event. What a gorgeous boy you have The hose reel sitting behind him made me lol.

Pepper has killed an alligator, a lizard, a sheep and an octopus. But the skins are apparently still more exciting than the ring and the bone that she hasn't killed. The newest ones have lasted a lot longer because we only give them to Pepper indoors, when we are home and playing with her. In the end it didn't save Sherman Sheep, but he lasted a lot longer than Garry Gator. :D I'll buy them again, infrequently (because of the cost).

I've been MIA as I'm still failing to increase the walking. Going to our first agility class next week though. Hopefully that counts for something?

I think you've missed the point. It's not really about the money.

Pepper and I run around the oval at the park sometimes. Actually, what really happens is that she runs, I pretend I can keep up, she realises I'm lagging and turns around to give me a rugby tackle to encourage me to run faster. We don't "run" when there's other people watching

Any Way Of Keeping Neighbour's Cat Out Of My Yard?
Pepper and Jax replied to chichihuahua's topic in General Dog Discussion
This link might help you: http://www.cathaven.com.au/faqs/#target-faq-1 Talk to the neighbours again - I know you said you have done so, but tell them that you are going to take measures to stop the cat being in your yard, and maybe they'll take it seriously. Though I appreciate you don't want a bad relationship with them, as retaliation through your dog would be awful :D ETA: http://www.oscillot.com.au/ No idea on cost, but it would keep the cat off your fence. -
If One More Person Asks Me...... Grrrr

I just remembered the other one that made me laugh... the suggestion that Pepper was a chocolate Dalmation. To their credit, it was from a photo of her more spotty side, but still. -
Silly People At Dog Parks.
Pepper and Jax replied to Miss BeRidgierent's topic in General Dog Discussion
I am often disappointed that we can't always enjoy our local dog park as we would like to. There's a dog named Gordon ( ) who lives on our street, and he's a lovely Boxer, very friendly, and although he always approaches us, he's not too "in your face" - or in Pepper's for that matter. But it annoys me that his owners drive to the park, open the door for Gordon to jump out and then just let him run around like he wants. The owner might be walking on the other side of the park but Gordon will run over to us, run back to his owner, run over to us... it gets Pepper all worked up and excited on the end of the lead, and prevents us from doing any serious training in public with her, particularly off lead recall training (though I suppose we can try to teach her to remain calm in such circumstances). I suppose I shouldn't whinge, he's not aggressive. And DOL has given me plenty of warning about dog parks! At least it's clean and there's two separate areas so it is possible to avoid people sometimes. Oh, and then there's the lady with her two dogs off lead who always says to me "don't let your dog near Lulu, she doesn't like other dogs" while Pepper is on lead and we're trying to get this lady's other dog Merlin to stop humping her. She makes me cranky ;) . So yes, we've learnt to avoid them. -
If One More Person Asks Me...... Grrrr
Pepper and Jax replied to pixie_meg's topic in General Dog Discussion
We're often asked what kind of cross breed Pepper is, and people seem to glaze over when you tell them she's a German Shorthaired Pointer. A few people identify her correctly, but they have family or friends with a GSP. At obedience school, there's one instructor who gets it right (he's lovely), but all the others call her "the Pointer". Pepper's not offended either way, as long as she gets a pat
