  1. Our local Electrical Discounters has the Green one for $649 and the red one for $849. As far as I can see the only difference between the two is the Red one has a remote control, the green one doesn't. The battery lasts for 12 hours (according to the little picture on the machine). Its bigger than I thought it was, but oh so cute. I am going to have to layby one I think....but I'll get one....my pledge to the RoboKing brigade to become a member soon  Lynn
  2. Paula, as far as I know, anything it touches, like toys, bodies, furniture, animals etc, it just goes the other way. The first time it is put down it goes around in what appears to be a hicklety picklety confused state, but it is actually mapping out your room. Then it will go back and forth until its done it all. So anything it bumps into it will move away from. It only picks up light things, I don't think it would try and eat something like a proper vacuum cleaner would. I used to own a Dyson, but I hated it. So I gave it away and now I have a Miele, which is 100% on the Dyson, and actually used to get the animal fur off my material lounge, until I got rid of that and got 4 leather armchairs. But it would be a dream come true to only have to vacuum once a week and Roboking every second day. Lynn
  3. I have been eyeing them off too....I might add it to my Christmas wish list....seeing as the collectors Doll House I will be getting is going to be heaps cheaper than I expected  I have a Pug and two cats....I am allergic to all three, so one of these would be perfect. Though I am hoping the dog or the cats don't think its a toy and starting sitting on it like they do in the You Tube video's...now thats funny. Anyone know of any good online sites to get an LG Roboking? Lynn
  4. Archie has a habit of eating hair and fur. With 2 daughters with long hair, 2 cats and a Pug....I just can't clean it up fast enough. What comes out is very hairy and like you mentioned he does the dance trying to get it all out... I haven't had to help him yet and I hope I never do Lynn
  5. I can picture it perfectly How on earth can a dog swallow a potato whole? I'm lucky anything that falls on the floor can be picked up easily, Archie is too slow and slides all over the vynal flooring to get to it, so I have plenty of time Lynn
  6. Deep Breath's....in and out....count to ten and walk away ;) I have heard it from people too, and I have nothing to do with breeding....I just read DOL a lot ;) (I mean thats where I know how much blood tears and tears go into it....not $$$$) Lynn
  7. Thats gorgeous, he probably wanted to join in all the fun Lynn
  8. I agree I don't think Wizard will have any problems with his blindness, and having a sighted dog that will go blind in the future may be a bonus, as they will help each other. Archie is my only ever vision impaired dog, Other than him running into you or constantly sniffing everything, he has been no different to any other dog I have owned. We do keep things exactly as they are to help him, but he is given so extra attention. I hope this lady can give Wizard a good home, tell Ker I have my fingers crossed for him. Lynn
  9. Depends whether its Breakfast or dinner meals.... Breakfast is Archie going nuts, crying. He gets dry food, which he spills over the floor then vacuums it up. Dinner is wet food. If he is outside when the meal is placed on the floor, you open the door and he will run, trip, fall and slide his way into the lounge to his bowl. Heaven help anyone who gets in the way, he just rams them regardless. If the meal is given while he is inside, he will cry a little, then when he stands as still as he can be, we give him the bowl. He vacuums it up too. Lynn
  10. I have both my cats under PIA and Archie is with BWM. The only illness that any of them had was the older cat when she got Panleukapenia (Feline Parvo), it cost me over $2,000 but that was before I got insurance. None of them have been sick or injured since. Our vet does a Vet Plan, where if you can't afford the bill they will arrange a payment plan over 12 months, interest free. I am seriously thinking of cancelling their insurance and banking it into a "Pet Fund" instead.... How do you cancel insurances? Do you have to write a letter and send it snail mail, or can you ring up or email them? Lynn
  11. I agree I think its all curiosity on the dogs part, which is great. But as the pp said the weight difference could cause injury, like the dog putting its paw on the kitten (like they do with puppies) and hurting it. I wouldn't segregate them all the time. Is there any way you can put up a gate in a doorway to let the dog see the kitten moving around but the dog cant access it. You'd probably have to put up some smaller wire screen as the kitten will be able to get through the bars. I think the dog needs to see the kitten doing all its playful routine, the dog needs to know that all this is normal and ok. The slowly introduce them when the kitten is a bit bigger. I have had older dogs and introduced kittens, and I have had older cats and introduced puppies. No one has ever gotten hurt yet. Lynn
  12. Faith - Rotti - 2 weeks shy of her 13th Birthday - Died of old age Jessie - Aussie Bull Dog - 8 years - Bowel Cancer Annie - Aussie Bull Dog - 11 months - Bowel Cancer Annie, she was PTS about a month later. Jessie Unfortunately I don't have a picture of Faith on the computer. Lynn
  13. Archie doesn't like the TV, not even listening to it, sounds of dogs barking, etc etc he doesn't bat an eyelid. He just likes to sleep through everything.... Now the cats are different. If they hear something interesting, then they will turn to the TV. Holly my youngest cat loves to watch the tray come out the DVD player, watch you put a DVD in and watch the tray go back in, then she will sit and watch it (she must be hearing it turn). But other than that, they never watch TV. Lynn

  16. I'm wondering too how he made the comparison maybe some bright spark showed him some photo's and were discussing Pit Bulls, he put two and two together and came up with 129 The mind boggles just trying to figure out how he managed to see Zorro and know it was a Pitbull.... Lynn
  17. Archie has never howled, I'm not sure he can, he doesn't bark either. The only noise he makes is a high pitched cry, and that's all he can and does do. Lynn
  18. I agree with the suggestions about something wrong with your Dad. I am a Diabetic, and I have had one of my dogs become obsessively close to me when I was going through a period of uncontrollable low blood sugars, I always believe she knew them better than me. She wouldn't leave me alone, followed me everywhere, she even wouldn't go to anyone else, just sat at my feet. Dogs are very intuitive to those around them, its amazing. Lynn
  19. OMG that is so amazing....given up as a lost cause and now she is almost perfect. I loved the end part with her chewing on the interviewers shoelaces. That is so brilliant, and Harper is such a beautiful dog. Lynn
  20. I don't think the ad is a bad thing either. I get the ad as being: they got the JRTx but found the owner was allergic, the dog was then placed outside to help. They had an older dog, which died, so they then got the LA to keep the JRTx company while outside. It doesn't sound like the owner, after two years, developed an allergy. It looks like the JRTx has been outside most of the time its been with them....however long that is. I am allergic to Archie, he's still an inside dog, I just try not to touch him too much and I clean up more. I am also allergic to my two inside cats but I haven't got rid of any of them ...yet... ;) Lynn
  21. My youngest cat, 12 months old, will have a go at Archie if he walks too close, or if she decided he gave her the wrong look....she's a weird cat. We have had Archie about 5 months, the oldest cat and Archie clean each other, they are fine, but the youngest doesn't trust Archie I guess. So far the cat has only hissed and swatted him on the head with her paw, no claws out. But she will do it for no apparent reason so I will say her name in a angry voice and say NO!. she will then move off to another place. When we first got Archie, we made sure the cats had an escape route, they have a cat flap in the laundry door, which Archie doesn't fit into, that their comfort place. But most places above Archie is safe for them, as Archie can't jump up to reach them at any height. I think its more, time and patience, letting the cat know their behaviour is not appropriate with water sprays (I add a little vinegar to mine, as my older cat likes water), using an angry voice and I also use time out.....if the cats do anything wrong they are placed in the laundry for 5-10 minutes...this actually works :D Good Luck Lynn
  22. Welcome too Pippa, I too missed the excitement as usual..... But don't let your post turn you away from DOL, its an incredible place to find out anything....you'll get the hang of it all soon Lynn
  23. They are all gorgeous, but I'm Pug bias.... Love Evie's fairy like face....very tiny. Lynn
  24. I would never feed chicken necks or wings to my dog either. Pugs have a tendency to vacuum their food, and some have died eating these, its not worth the risk. I also feed Archie My Dog dry food in the morning and My Dog meals (those square foil ones) in the evening. He gets the odd biscuit, cheese, crab, seafood extender, etc....but not all the time. Plus a meat bone when we go out for the day. A lot of weight gain is mostly to do with the amount the dog is eating vs what it is eating. So if this dog is eating a balanced diet and lots of treats, then its bound to put on weight. I can easily cut down Archie's weight by reducing the amount of dry food and halving the treats. Lynn
  25. As a mother of an Autistic child, now 22, I'll give my 2 cents worth. My daughter was never afraid of anything as a child, she would climb on the roof in a heart beat, run out the front door in a flash, go missing for hours (I eventually got special locks and alarms for all exits to stop her), had no road sense at all, is totally unaware of stranger danger, loves everyone and everything.... Unless I harnessed her to me, she would escape from me many times, and on one occasion she ran straight up to a Great Dane with his owner and grabbed him around the neck to hug him (the dog not the owner). I was horrified, as I didn't know the dog, the dogs owner was taken aback, but the dog was licking her and just sitting there. I am so grateful the owner didn't yell at my daughter (then aged about 6), he just had this big smile on his face....I couldn't say sorry enough, the owner said most people are afraid of such a huge dog, that it was nice to see a child so eager to hug. Please don't blame the mother totally, though I would have been shocked if my daughter had done what this child had done, and as the mother I would have said sorry. But its not the childs fault they don't feel fear, most Autistic children have tunnel vision, they see it they want it and its hard to steer them away. I'm sorry you were treated that way, I would never have done this, but its hard raising an Autistic child. Lynn
