  2. Oh you poor thing. Don't worry, Lucy is safe and you are not a terrible owner . You should be proud of her recall!
  3. Can you upload a copy of the poster to here, then I'm happy to share it on my Facebook.
  4. Which area did they go missing from? I hope they are found soon.
  5. Eric got baby of breed (greyhound) again today at Wodonga. Baby in group 4 was the elkhound.
  6. Baby Puppy of Group 4 was the Beagle. That's all I know .
  7. How frustrating . Did you mention the dog could end up costig her a LOT more than that in vet fees? Even if it didn't have any health problems, there's still desexing, vaccinations, worming, flea treatments etc etc. Is she wanting a dog just because she thinks it is a bargain? It sounds like you have done what you can, you can't make her buy from a registered breeder .
  8. Just because she's 22 and rents doesn't mean she will be a bad dog owner. I am 24, rent, until recently studied full time and worked part time and I have a dog and 2 cats who are well loved and cared for. I think they best thing you can do is educate her and try and gently push her towards getting a dog from a registered breeder. Tell her about the issues with getting a 6 week old pup, plus the problems with BYB, talk about the health testing etc tht registered breeders do. ETA, sorry penny I didn't see your second post before I wrote this. Maybe just try and gently educate her, convince her getting a dog from a registered breeder will be better in the long run, she will have a better idea of the pup's genetic background and health etc.
  9. That is beautiful, thank you for sharing.
  10. That's lovely Gayle, what a great idea. to your hubby.
  11. You can only claim rent assistance if you are receiving another Centrelink payment, and I don't think OP would qualify for any other payment . A quick Google search seems the pay figure OP quoted is probably correct. http://www.acpeople.com.au/cat/Veterinary-Nurses_6392xj.htm http://www.thinknursing.com.au/become_a_veterinary_nurse.htm Edited for spelling
  12. It would be possible, but only you can weigh up if you could cope on that wage. There is nothing wrong with deciding that a wage of that amount cannot support your lifestyle. You still have to have the lifestyle you want, and if you need a higher wage to do that, that is your choice. There is no point being in a job you love, if the lack of money impacts on the rest of your life and makes you miserable. I would suggest sitting down and doing a realistic budget before you make any decisions. Then you need to weigh up the trade offs between having the job you love and little money, or a job that is only ok, but more money. Good luck with whatever you decide .
  13. to Holbrook Show Society, very nice of them to acknowledge your donation Rebanne.
