  1. I use a normal bumbag so I can hold car keys, ball, treats and phone etc.
  2. I've used Megaderm and found it to be quite good - though the one I brought was in an opaque bottle ?
  3. I luv Squirt shampoo - smells devine !!! Coconut or Pina colada - yum
  4. I would get it them removed whilst your dog is under for desexing - definately worth it
  5. Beans and more beans (canned preferably) - but I hate beans ;)
  6. I get my vet to give my girl the yearly needle and haven't had any problems. Isn't it the same as a yearly tetnus/strangles injection in horses (meaning it protects the body by staying in for a year ??). dogbesotted - I'd be interested in any information you can give regarding jab vs tablet.
  7. Ok Afton and what about those people trying to "train" their dogs who constantly use slip chains, halti's, gentle leaders etc etc incorrectly causing pain and sending confusing messages to the dog ? Also I believe in refering to the thread on Eques regarding the balls and whatever was actually the person's friends and people on that forum have given this person positive advice in teaching these people about the fence. By the way do you use electric fences on your horses ?, some people believe this to be cruel as well. KitKat your lovely 'zapped into submisson' doggie looks awfully happy  Edit: We were posting at the same time Fin - I too have tried a slip chain (ouchies, esp. if used incorrectly) btw nice Wei !
  8. I was intending to keep out of this but In my opinion owners which use this fence are the responsible ones !! - hello ? spending this much money to keep your dog safe and OFF the streets in my eyes responsible unlike those who let their dogs do as they please. And I doubt VERY much that people who enjoy harming and being cruel to animals would outlay money to do so they will always find other ways unfortunately. The RSPCA have conflicting views, they go on and on about lost dogs blah blah blah yet hate the use of this system which is at times the only way to keep escape artists safe from being lost at a pound. Afton please get down off your soap box ...
  9. Thanks everyone I now have a few things to try. Interesting about the feeding in the morning though- might have to try that as well, thanks
  10. Thanks for the replies guys. mersonmalinois - I didn't think she was that thick either until people kept telling me she was pudgy. Hmm pumpkin pie filling, does it come in a can ? I might try that along with some beans. btw: thankyou I think she's pretty too although she was not happy about standing still for the photo hence the camped under stance - she wanted to play :fetch: espinay2 - I have no idea what White tripe is or where to get it, I have been feeding her the more meaty strips but will take more care now with the amount of fat left on. With the broth do you mix it with the dry food and is there a certain time limit to drink/eat it in if it is mixed (ie. can it make the biscuits go rancid ?) Koza - It was just grated carrot, but I will have to try mixing vegies with broth by the sounds of it to make it more tempting. Is it ok to use a human stock cube to make the broth ? - you know the ones that just dissolve in warm water.
  11. I've been trying to 'slim' my wei down after being told she's overweight, I've since decreased her food for dinner (only 1 and 1/2 cups) and dropped her from Supercoat Energy to just Supercoat Adult (lowered protein and fat %). I'm not sure about putting her on a lite/diet food as on most of the packs they say 'for an overweight less active dog' and she's definately active with obedience training/agility/lots of runs etc etc. I usually give with some beef strips with her biscuits which have reduced to just a couple (I can't really get rid of this altogether as the other doggies get this). I've tried mixing in carrot to 'fill' her up which she doesn't seem too keen on and is starting to steal some food from other bowls which isn't helping. Is there any other things that I can put in her food to fill her up without adding any Kilojoules ? I've also attached a couple of of pictures to see what you think about her weight atm.
  12. I use Squirt it's great and makes doggy smell wonderful
  13. Rescue Remedy is not a sedative but a flower remedy that helps to relieve emotions, not sedate/make the animal sleepy.
  14. I use it and haven't had any problems - and yes your dog has to be tested for heartworm prior to having the injection.
  15. Good Luck !! I'm sure you'll both be fine
  16. Leonburgers are gorgeous - almost look like a noofie in shepard's clothing ? but sssooo cute Are dogs have a mix of raw and supercoat, I do find they take their time but by taking it away or mixing some yummy stuff (meat) they eat it up !
  17. The Australian School of Pet care - both DIY/Prof. grooming course ph: 08 9301 1559 [email protected] Also visit www.thomsoneducationdirect.com.au There's a grooming correspondence course (learn at home)
  18. I's love to come but doubt I could get over to Vic - anyway of coming the SA, worth a try
  19. Yes Apple cider vinegar is also good but remember to slowly increase the amount otherwise you might find your dog will not eat it's dinner because of the strong smell.
  20. There are many natural herbal alteratives you can try. - Devils claw, this is a herb which is great for arthritis - also is a 'picker upper' makes the dog feel comfortable and happy. Also anti-inflamatory - Glucosamine, another natural substance that helps motility - MSM - Also with any of the above you had add cod liver oil which also helps with arthritic conditions and works as an anti-inflamatory hope these help somewhat
