  1. Posting on behalf of a friend... My friends 9yo whippet has just been diagnosed with a partially ruptured disk. She is looking for vet who might be able to use it as training operation because they cant afford the $1000's the surgery will cost (she has 3 kids). Does anyone one know anyone who might be able to help put her in contact with someone. I have already suggested Werribee. It's tough... either op or put to sleep
  2. SA clubs do not usually send a breakdown of numbers, just receipt of entry.
  3. We also have an Oztrail Compact 3 yrs old and still going strong, easily put up by one person. Would not use one of those beach shelters, they get very hot.
  4. "Due to the number of adjustments that need to be made to exhibitor membership and exhibit numbers, I have been able to get our data section to leave entries open until 5pm Friday. Last chance to get your entries in or add entries. Any problems call 02 97041007 and we will help you through the entry system! Deb "
  5. Just put my entry it... for once i'm organised!!!
  6. To me 'dog friendly' means dogs in rooms. They use to allow it but as usual idiots end up abusing it and ruining to for responsible people.
  7. Student accom is NOT dog friendly. Last year there was a stuff up with my friends booking and they accidentally booked her the janitors store room... which she didn't realise until she opened the door... LOL This weekend is notoriously difficult to get dog friendly accom at. A pain when they are usually great shows.
  8. We X-rayed our girl because she was due close to Xmas and our Vet was closing Xmas Day with no On call Vet at their clinic. Ended up whelping Xmas Eve. Vet told us there were 6 pups, very slight chance of 7 and she whelped 8!
  9. Congratulations to Sway on Hudson's BEST IN SHOW!!!
  10. [quote The only people I know or am aware of who enter neuters are exhibitors who take the opportunity to give their old neutered conformation champions a run. Dogs that have paid their dues in the real world of dog showing.quote] Not true, we have seen a lot of dogs shown in Neuter class that could not/have not titled in ordinary classes. I do think that the judges should be thinking very carefully about the neuters conforming to breed standards, it should not be seen as a pet class.
  11. We have exhibited two Std Poodles in Neuter class and gained their Neuter Champion titles. They are father and daughter, both titled, one being the only Std Poodle Grand Champion in Victoria for many tears. Both poodles are multiple class in Group and Specialty class in show winners. We consider them both to be good examples of the breed, but for various reasons decided not to continue breeding with their lines. Most judges have been very positive about neuter class and many have questioned why our dogs are desexed, even had an International judge asking the steward why the Neuter could not have been given BOB as she was better than the entire exhibits! I think that by having Neuter class, it is a way of keeping good dogs in the ring and encouraging new exhibitors who do not want an entire dog, but still wish to show.
