  1. I think we should definitely start a new thread per month in the Photo Challenges area here, you could even start a '2012 suggestions' thread for everyone to offer ideas... I'll suggest "resolutions" seen as its January and most of us are making some sort of resolution! P.S. I like that shutter sisters website!
  2. I would love to the 365 project... if you attempt to do it is better than me resigning to the fact that I can't commit and not trying! I think we should restart the monthly challenges - they were fun!
  3. I'm not sure... I feel a bit burnt out It was a great challenge and I have come so far with my photos over the 12 months... but don't think I can do it for 1 dog, maybe I'll join the other thread so I can submit a photo of either dog
  4. Yay for making it all the way through! I also like your handover shot Helen - very smart cookie you are! I love it! Here's Asti and Angus' final shots.... snoozing from all the socialising in the last week Week 52/52 of Asti 2011 by SammieS, on Flickr Week 52/52 of Angus 2011 by SammieS, on Flickr
  5. I'm in next year *sigh* I don't know if I could do it again... plus I can't bring myself to do the last 52 week image as I can't get the dogs to be still in their xmas clothes
  6. Sorry! I only saw the replies about deer antlers... Sway from DOL sells them on the link that SecretKei posted... they're fabulous! I just bought all the sizes available just to see which ones I liked - next time I'm going to buy 20cm's instead of 15 for my guys...
  7. 1 week to go! I'm a bit of a Christmas grinch so next week I'll attempt some Christmas photos Asti snoozing on the couch... 8. Great Photos everyone! I'd love to attempt a couple myself, but how do you do it? Shell - how did you work out what to focus on? Did you have a tripod? Terranik - your photos are fabulous!
  9. Deer Antlers!!! I wish I had them for my first pup as she probably wouldnt' have chewed the tv cabinet, stair banaster rail, skirting boards, wooden couch legs... Angus loves them!
  10. MTD - Great Story... I love it! Weibritty - Marlo is so handsome!!! His coat looks so nice and soft! Although he looks umimpressed with the hat! Gila - How did you get him to hide behind a tree? Asti would follow me and I wouldn't get a shot like that! Maybe i can try this week... Wagslot - Riley always looks so happy! I think I'm the only one uploading to the Flickr Group now
  11. Week 50 - Here we come! We had a frenchie meetup on Sunday so I got some photos of Asti and my Christmas Lion... Week 50/52 of Angus 2011 by SammieS, on Flickr Week 50/52 of Asti 2011 by SammieS, on Flickr

  13. Wow! Week 49! I had a shocker this week - for some reason all of my photos of Asti are terrible! and handsome angus got all the awesome shots! I didn't realise how hard it was to get a shot of a black dog until I got Angus...! I really appreciate all of Asti's other shots now ;) I think its funny they both have sticks in their mouths!!! Here is the disappointing shot of Asti, it was the only one in focus (I'll blame the fading light) - I had another few favourites but it annoyed me that the photos weren't clear Week 49/52 of Asti 2011 by SammieS, on Flickr Here's baby Angus! Repellent

Probably not good on upholstery but I smeared everything with Vicks and it definitely dettered my two ;) and makes the house smell fresh
  15. Here's week 48 of 52... I had an idea in mind for Asti this week (in an attempt to do something different) but it was too hot and the wrong time of day for photos once I got up on Sunday morning... Week 48/52 of Asti 2011 by SammieS, on Flickr Week 48/52 of Angus 2011 by SammieS, on Flickr
  16. x2! Since our puppy arrived 4 weeks ago this is an absolute favourite to play tug with and after a while you don't really hear the squeaking!!!
  17. Great photos everyone! I feel like there's not many of us left... not long to go now! Here's Asti and Angus :D Week 47/52 of Asti 2011 by SammieS, on Flickr Week 47/52 of Angus 2011 by SammieS, on Flickr

  21. Good Job! I understand how excited you are! as I am feeling the same way!!!
  22. you almost made me laugh out loud!!! (and i'm sitting in a VERY VERY quiet office) I'm also doing LAT and saying "watching..... wwwaaaattttcccccchhhhhhiiiiiiinnnnnnggggggggggggggggggg" as we walk past bikes, runners, etc... it works as it prepares her for something to appear unexpectedly around us At the moment, everytime we see an oncoming dog walking along the path I start walking off the path at an angle away from the dog and we sort of do a big curve around them, so by the time they are level with uswe're almost 5-10 meters away from the path. This looks so strange to some people and when my Dad comes with me he feels the need to tell these confused people "oh, they're in training" A couple of points - this "arc" works well until you come across people with flexi leads who let their hyperactive swf dogs run out the 20m of lead to visit us when its pretty darn obvious that I was trying to keep Asti under threshold and stay a comfortable distance from them! so standing in the carpark at a dog school isn't far from what I'm doing anyway... On the flip side - this sub-threashold distance exercise is starting to work! Asti now see's dogs coming and will start walking on an angle away from the path!!! I couldn't have been happier when I started to see her voluntarily walk out of the way of the oncoming dog My next test is to start making the "arcs" smaller so we're only walking 2-5m off the path! its been a long road but we're making progress! and I know this will rub off on our new puppy too, so i'm very excited at finally making some progress! :D
  23. I'll be watching this thread with interest - our puppy whines for everything, even if we're there with him he'll whine as he's lying down to rest or sleep , otherwise it escalates into a high pitched sqealing piglet noise (which gets ignored until he's quiet again) . We're hoping he grows out of it because Asti gives him a look like "what is your problem now? there's nothing wrong!!!"
  24. Thanks MTD - Yes Asti is like a totally different dog - she plays hard but has 'adjusted' her intensity! She even started to tug with a toy with him and lets him win! We are very happy that they both get along :D
